@@isaacstevenson7971it does pop out if you pull the bullet like that. A TH-camr named NTArmaments has a video on it. It's called "the mosin can ping too, kinda"
@@bigounce1977 “Stop using the anti-tank rifle on infantry” They said “It’s a waste of resources” They said *Tears someone in half with it from 400 meters away* What terrible advice
So on the topic of awesome attention to detail: At 5:18 homie loads a Mosin, which in real life is actually kinda hard to load with a stripper clip. Like I have to use the top cartridge and angle it down to push the rest in towards the base of each cartridge so they slide in easier all at once. Not that loading stripper clips is cake for all guns, but the rim is especially tight with 7.62x54r, and it took me a while before I could do it at all let alone without struggle. And what do I see here? HOMEBOY DOES EXACTLY THAT, angling and using the leverage of the top cartridge to push the rest down, and he does it a few times I see. This game is truly amazing with its detail.
That's the real way you have to reload those revolvers, they are gate loaded, so you have to manually eject, put a new cartridge in, and then move the cylinder over by hand. It was an Arduous process.
@@pretzelbomb6105 it's crazy to see people who are familiar with these types of gate revolvers make reloading them look so easy and trivial, it really is a time consuming process of you aren't familiar with them.
5:28, I think mosin nagant has the most "proper" animation here, his right hand shows how many bullets has to be inserted, instead of just looping the same right hand animation like in other rifles.
Yeah and to be honest first person animations look better with thicc hands or gloves. I had to unlock skins with gloves in BFV cause those small hands make animations look bad imo
@@dick_cheney I'm not using it as much... For the time being. One reason's cause of the hot summer, thus a lot of sweating. The other is because the left thumbstick (Oculus Rift S) tend to drift to the right.
@@YoshiTheMinecrafter I just noticed that it's not SteamVR that're causing the problem, nor the other connected gamepads (and whatnot) that're causing this. Even on Oculus' own Launcher, did I notice the issue. Anyway, makes me "worry" if this one were defective, or if it was me who're misusing/damaging it. I mean, the room where my PC is, which is on the upper floor. Not only was it just big enough for minimum, the cieling's at an angle, (again, my room's on the upper floor) so I tend to hit it, IF I use Melee Weapons or Grenades (or anything where I really need to swing the controllers around.)
man i love this game. got recommended this video, so i’m sure it’s something you do anyways, but i appreciate the structure you chose for this video. how you put certain weapons next to each other not necessarily by class, but by reload, mag type, etc. similarities. ex: both rsc’s and chauchat all in a row. has a good flow to it. and also that you didn’t hesitate or linger with an intro or outro. straight to the point. thank you.
@@galladesamurai2380 Yep, pretty much! There's also a couple other secret reloads in the game, one with the sawed-off shotgun where it looks like the super shotgun reload from Doom 2 (It even looks like a slideshow, just like in the game), and one with the Autoloading 8 extended, where the character will pop the mag out with another mag, a lot like the AN-94 reload from Battlefield 3
The metallic ping from rounds being pushed in and the strip popping of the Mosin is my favorite sound even if you’ll never hear it while in a gun fight
I recently noticed that the Arisaka and some other bolt-actions do a full-clip reload when only four shots have been fired, which makes sense since the final round would be ejected when opening the bolt, leaving an empty bolt, and I thought it kind of sucked that the rest of the animations didn't follow this (ie, reloading the round you ejected in addition to the one you fired). But in this video I'm just now noticing that the player character actually covers the ejection port with his hand, so that he doesn't have to re-insert the cartridge he ejected without firing. Never noticed that while playing! Just goes to show how much thought really was put into this
@@dannyzero692 yep. I currently have 9 service stars on the Sawed-Off Shotgun and have only ever seen the Doom reload once Edit: now at 13 service stars and have only seen it twice
The sound design along with the animations are top notch. My brother works at a big gun store and they have a few of the rifles and pistols and I reloaded the guns closest I could to these animations with dummy rounds. They are pretty accurate to how you would load and operate the guns. The guys over at dice did their homework.
I like how the Mosin Nagant animation for the k bullet. He saves the round that’s inside the chamber and loads the K bullet in. And when he doesn’t use it he doesn’t let it fly out, he saves it.
I like how if you’re topping off a clip-loading weapon where there’s enough rounds to replace a full clip, he loads a clip first then tops it off with discrete rounds.
Tummy Yummys At the time, detachable magazines were quite expensive and aside from automatic rifles and handguns, they didn’t affect reload speed that much. As such, your Officer would often be a pain in the ass about keeping mags while clips were lighter and disposable. Remember, most rifles guns at the time had a 5 or 6 round mag, so one stroke of a clip is enough to load a rifle. This had changed with large capacity automatic weapons becoming the norm, as loading a 5 or 10 round clip into a gun that has 20 or 30 rounds is quite a lot of time spent loading the weapon and a great opportunity for mud and crap to get inside the gun. Still, you can find clipped ammo today (primarily military ammo, though some commercial ammo is clipped) to make mag loading quicker.
Yes this way true especially for the Fedorov Avtomat since each unit had a magazine specifically made for each gun. If anything, the magazine for it was supposed to stay fixed all the time.
Lmao yeah that’s my main gripe about these reload animations; they just straight up drop the mag into oblivion. I’m just like what are you going to say to your officer when you come back and say “sir I dropped all my mags while reloading”. Like especially in that time period, maybe now it’s okay to lose a few but back then if you lost a whole mag it’d be expensive. That’s why they mostly use clips with only a bit of metal
Also when they load individual cartridges they just spawn cartridges from the palm of their hand instead of reaching back into the bag to get one every time

So on the topic of awesome attention to detail:
At 5:18 homie loads a Mosin, which in real life is actually kinda hard to load with a stripper clip.

Putting the hand in the way of ejection port/chamber to stop bullets coming out is a pretty neat detail.
you see this very rare prototype experimental late 19th century weapon?
*YEETS MAG*
@@MPdude237 i kinda can see where you get the reference for this
Yes this way true especially for the Fedorov Avtomat since each unit had a magazine specifically made for each gun.
Also when they load individual cartridges they just spawn cartridges from the palm of their hand instead of reaching back into the bag to get one every time
God damn the sound design is amazing
