@@Sushruta_Official Since Hind-II was discovered earlier than Hind-I, that's why the first discovered restriction enzyme is Hind-II. But Hind-I was first isolated from that strain of bacteria from which Hind-II was isolated later. That's why there's II in the first discovered endonuclease enzyme.
@@drneerajkumar I read somewhere that both are different in the sense that recognition site is the one identified by the enzyme and restriction site is the spot of actual cut. Is it correct?
@@saher4680 yes. Complete site recognised by enzyme is a recognition site while the exact bases where enzymes cut is known as a restriction site. But in general both are used in the same reference.
