A 4 year old at my old job use to talk about the Addams family like they were his own family. He would tell some pretty believable stories until he mentioned "cousin IT" or Wednesday. He was a huge fan and it was honestly the highlight of my day to hear his stories.

My 8-year-old has three plastic Halloween skulls she has named and slept with since she was about 4. She's bizarrely into dark stuff and has desperately wanted a full skeleton for her room. She dressed up as an SCP for Halloween last year, and loves playing any horror games we let her, like FNaF, Little Nightmares and Among the Sleep. It's especially funny since she wouldn't hurt a fly, and is one of the sweetest, most upbeat and generous kids I know. We've actually had to lecture her several times over about not being too trusting in Roblox and stuff because she's prone to giving things away to be nice.

That last kid is probably just really morbidly curious. "Hurt people" is something we're not suppose to see, especially at that age, so its a fascinating thing to try and witness. Children are also horrific little monsters that haven't developed empathy yet, which means she doesn't care about their pain but instead just wants to see what all the hubbub is about. She'll either grow out of it or get a Liveleak account, its all good

Okay so this isn't as bad as some from this video but here we go. When I was a toddler I knocked the TV down and it broke. It was one of those black and white, box TVs (I'm old, I know). As you can guess it made a loud bang and broke. When my parents came into the room to see what happened, I immediately started asking my sister "What have you done? Why did you break the TV?" And act all shocked. My sister got into trouble instead of me. That's isn't so bad until you realize that even as a toddler I had wicked manipulative skills. Wicked? More like absolutely savage manipulation skills.
Another time I threw a stone and hit a kid in the head because "he was dirty and full of buggers" my mom cleaned up and patched his (superficial) wound and gave him all the candy she had stored for me for like a month and hoping to high heaven that that if the kid's parents came looking, they would be understanding to the fact that I was a small kid and didn't know any better.
Yeah... I was fricked up since I was young.

I used to chew on my hair, it felt cool, and when it dried I could break it apart. By 4th grade(8) I realized I had to stop. One time, I felt a sharp pain, and found that a hair from head had stabbed through my tongue and was coming out the bottom. I could barely even touch the hair, it was like electricity. But I had to eat, it ended up pulling out during(yes I spit the hair out.) Up side I never have to guess what a tongue piercing feels like, it's equal to touching an electric fence. Hair is much sharper than I thought, I stopped chewing.

1:26 I was thinking the same thing, sounds like an OCD thing. Because often, the things we do are weird like that, we’re not always neat freaks. They should find out if it’s simply him being an odd two year old or if he thinks something bad will happen if he doesn’t do it. Does he get anxious he he doesn’t do it? =P those are OCD telltale signs. I have lots of different OCD triggers and the occasional random one I’ll do once and then never again, but it’s things like closing cupboard doors in a pattern, licking a spoon twice when putting sugar in or on something, etc.

the shoelaces and paper towels kid sounds like me as a kid. i have sensory processing disorder, and although now i can just sort of deal with most sensory things that bother me, as a kid something like wearing wet clothes or having sand in my shoes would be cause for an absolute meltdown. not trying to diagnose a stranger on the internet, just found it interesting.

Until I was 12 I liked to chew on old barbie dolls. Although if I'd had my choice I wanted the dollar store knockoffs because they had a plastic rod through the arms and legs that made a really nice crunching noise. I am 18 and still have to keep myself from chewing on things. Not only that but rawhide dog chews were my favorite thing as a kid, we didn't have a dog. I just loved those things.

My parents wouldn't necessarily say any of it was fricked up, but apparently I had some odd habits. Keep in mind, my brother and I were in foster care from birth to when I was almost 3 and he was almost 2 (great foster parents, very loving people).
We spent a lot of time around social workers. They all called our adopted parents by their first names. So, I did the same. Mom always says she's grateful they managed to teach me to call them mom and dad before I started school. It's not that I didn't see them as my parents, or anything like that. I was just doing what the adults did. It's also part of why I got put in daycare. I only knew how to interact with adults, not with kids my own age, and most of the kids in the neighborhood were older than me. So... Daycare for socialization.
Actually, a couple creepy things. I had frequent night terrors as a child. I'd scream and cry about wanting to go home. I didn't know my name, or who the people around me were. My parents didn't know what to do, so they talked to my pediatrician who knew my situation. He said to just sit with me and talk to me, and say my name frequently. Eventually, they'd be able to get me back to bed, but one of them usually had to stay with me until the morning. My dad says the genuine terror I showed really scared him, because he just wanted to fix it and he really couldn't. The night terrors slowly became less and less frequent. But, as an adult, I have several mental illnesses and PTSD. My parents had to teach my husband how to handle the night terrors.
Another was when I was 13 and in therapy. Mom was sitting in, so we could talk about my thoughts on my life (I knew a lot about my bio family, not good people). And I don't remember what brought it up, but I mentioned that my earliest memory is of seeing my little brother. I don't know who I was with, but we think it might've been a nurse. She was wearing all white, and I remember feeling safe with her. But I saw my brother in a little crib inside "a big plastic tent". My brother was a micro-premie and frequently sick. They think that memory was of seeing him in an incubator. The thing is, we're not even 11 months apart in age. I couldn't have been older than maybe 3, otherwise my adopted parents would've been there. And my dad apparently thinks about it a lot.

Not sure how fucked up this actually was since some of it I did privately.
-When I was really little I never crawled, I would scoot around on my butt.
-in elementary school I had a couple of those cheap carnival prizes and would cut them up before sewing them back together with read thread to make it look like scars, never did this with my more expensive toys.
-every time I played with dolls as a kid one of them was injured.
-wrote/drew some pretty morbid stuff, but I still do that as an adult, it’s just fun.
-chased my brother with a knife once, but in my defence he decided to piss me off while I was holding a knife and I just didn’t bother putting it down cause I was 10 and it was my first pocket knife, never intended to hurt him.

I used to hang and torture my dolls too. Had a lot of fun doing it, and just kinda figured that adventure means torture. Tbh, I kind of got this mentality from media.
Rapunzel was kidnapped and locked in a tower for years. Eugene was a thief and an orphan (I think? Been a while)
Ariel was so caged that when she fell love she sold her voice to an evil witch.
Belle was kidnapped and fell in love with her kidnapper, a cursed prince.
Cinderella's father died and she was abused by the surviving members of her family. Right before she was whisked away by man who doesn't even recognize her.
To my child brain, my dolls should live out stories similar to these. So they were kidnapped, tortured, abused, and killed. They got happy endings though. Most of the time anyway.
