    I prefer to bypass FX in automation using Wet mix envelope. I found that, depending on FX, simple bypass may produce clicks or pops, while the Wet may be set to change from 0 to 100 (or vice versa) over 10 samples or so, and that eliminates any clicking.

      Can create a video on how to sidechain wet 0 to 100

      @@sunreactor6535 not sure I understand the question, but in Reaper you can create a wet/dry envelope for any plugin and just draw the automation

      @@XscrewdriverX sorry, let me know if this explains, is it possible to use one track as sidechain and apply on multi fx to change wet 0 to 100, do you have video to show how to do it, thanks

      @@REAPERMania yes of course, I think I'm just more impressed when you zoom in and your mouse cursor is dead on, I may just be too sloppy with mine

    • @REAPERMania
      @REAPERMania  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ThePilate30 Don't give me that much credit. I normally zoom in by using my trackpad and using two fingers. It's fast but it's very sloppy. Fine for me. Terrible for videos. So in the video, I use the + and - keys. They're slower but they're perfect as I keep the center in line with my cursor. Then I speed up the video in editing. So what you're seeing is not 100% accurate.

    Silly question time, with the item method you get (or can have) a crossfade as the effects switch thus no glitches, if you use the automation method does bypass always switch on a zero crossing or do you get glitches?

    • @REAPERMania
      @REAPERMania  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is the benefit of the earlier method. You can crossfade effects. Really cool for EQ things if you want it to happen very slowly. You can get glitches the other way but you can usually find a place where you won't notice. Or else you can automate the Wet/Dry knob instead.

    Hi Kenny! I have a midi pedal that I would like to use to move between tracks. My tracks are presents from my favorite VSTs, like 18 tracks. How can I use the pedal to move like in a bank present of a multi-effect pedal?

    Is there also a way to automate putting fx into offline mode ? Im usually at 96 or 128 samples latency and it's a fight to not to get any issues even with a decent cpu so I have a macro to quick offline and online entire tracks but automating it for the parts where it's needed would be even cooler.

    • @REAPERMania
      @REAPERMania  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would just freeze the tracks.

    Is there a way to automate multiple parameters with one automation track? It would be nice to literally control all three bypasses (or wet/dry) with a single automation lane.

    • @REAPERMania
      @REAPERMania  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Just link the parameters using parameter modulation/MIDI link. th-cam.com/video/l8EcSniMiDE/w-d-xo.html

    How can I bypass the first slot plugins on multiple tracks simultaneously? Specifically, I have ten tracks, and each track has a different type of saturation plugin in the first slot. I'm looking for a way to bypass all these first-slot plugins at once, regardless of them being different plugins. 🙏🏿

    Thanks for all the tutorials, Kenny.
    I'll take this to the Cockos forum, but I'm dropping it here too because I'm on YT more often:
    *Where in Reaper do I disable certain VSTs for good??*
    As of last week I'm having a nightmare of a time in Win7/64 because iLok is no longer supported. The old software is crashing my projects as it fails to validate authorization, and any and all patches/updates pursued have not improved my situation any.
    All of my Softube, Soundtoys and Sonnox are borked and causing Reaper to hang.
    so, again..._Where in Reaper do I disable certain VSTs for good???_
    I attempted a re-scan in Preferences/VST tab and it spent 1/2 an hour going through each VST and "terminating" them individually...but it hasn't helped stop Reaper from getting stuck/hanging as it searches for Sonnox (an instance of Inflator is trying to load into a session I'd last saved a month ago) validation through iLok!

  • @MrXikwriNeyrra
    @MrXikwriNeyrra ปีที่แล้ว

    yes, It's that easy! But when I reopen the project reaper will ignore the automations. Gotta click READ -> "show all active track envelopes" -> "arm all tracks envelopes" -> "hide all track envelopes" every time for each channel, this is becoming a nightmare cause in Ableton is SO easy! Any idea why is Reaper ignoring the envelopes?
