Whenever I get stuck in REAPER, this is the first place I go.
A lot of times, when skilled people teach their craft, they forget that their students know little-to-nothing about the subject. I love how you take things in small steps and explain the reasoning behind each step.
You're a great teacher. I appreciate what you do.

Thanks Kenny - you never fail to teach me something I either didn't yet know, or a subtlety that I haven't picked up on.
You are without doubt the Reaper Jedi Master ;-)

Another great example of how Reaper really is versatile when creating buses. I use mostly the mixer for adding sends, because the mixer is what I usually use to mix projects. I have a second screen only for that. In my case all the FX are on the end of the project, with different reverb, echo's and other FX. I do also have a master fader for all FX together. Very convenient if you want to De-ess or compress the FX. That way I keep the tracks organized. Especially if you have 126 or more tracks, like these days seems to be a standard.

I used to do that, but now I have separate verbs/delays for each group like drums/guitars/keys etc.
Makes it easier to solo a group, without having a random delay coming from an instrument that isn't in that group.

I know I'll never be good enough to record/mix for a living, but I would never have been able to confidently get around in Reaper without the marvelous teachings of Kenny. Thank you Kenny.

I would like to see a way to keep the send mixer window on screen perhaps in the docker or to move to a separate screen. It would be extremely useful when setting up multiple headphone mix sends or monitor mixes. I've done this in the past running FOH, monitors and recording simultaneously using parallel mixers but it would be easier to make quick adjustments if you didn't have to click on the io button every time a level adjustment was necessary.

Is it just making the effects in parallel where you can run a single track on different effects?

I have been watching Kenny's educational presentations (they are so much more than just "videos") for about 2 years. I watched for months before I even downloaded Reaper. Back in the 90's I used Cubase and then life changed and I lost my vocal chords. I kept my eye on DAW's development and occasionally thought about returning to studio work, I've been an IT pro since the late 70's so, I've always had an interest in "buttons and dials"😉. Having studied (and replayed) Kenny's work for many months, I decided to purchase Reaper. Are there better DAW's? Perhaps. But, for me, it's about the SUPPORT and that means the community and Kenny. I have searched carefully other DAW's support offerings... because some of my friends, who are professional musicians, insist that they are 'forced' into paying for the "pro" stuff if they wish to have external pro mixing assistance. I wanted to see if the support was better. Simple answer - nope.
Regardless of price, performance, cross platform, plugins, blah, blah - for me.... if it doesn't have the quality of a Kenny working for the company - then I am not interested.

Hi Kenny, just a quick question.. why do you create a separate track (Effects return) for reverb & Delay? All my years of recording I've just put all the effects onto the track... Have I been doing it wrong all this time ha?

Hello, do you happen to know whether there's a way to set the default pan law for pre-fader sends? The global pan law default setting in Project Settings doesn't affect the pre-fader sends' pan law.
Also, is there an option to make the pre-fader sends' pan follow the track pan automatically (like the FMP button in Pro Tools)?
    Thanks!

Kenny, not only did I learn this, I can also use it. Literally was just fighting with sending a panned mono track to a stereo reverb and delay the other day. I don't think I figured it out in the end... and I think I may have even previously watched this video.
But I've got it this time!
