    You have a real knack for explaining things. As a Reaper user, I've used envelopes a little, but I've always wanted to do some of the exact things you taught here. Really enjoyed your lesson. Thanks for taking the time.

    Man, you´re a terrific teacher. Thanks to you, I´m coming to look at Reaper as a world of possibilities and not a bunch of hostile knobs, windows and hours lost in confusion.

    Thank you so much for this. I've been using the UX2 + POD Farm + Reaper combo for a while now, but I never knew you could control the POD Farm effects through Reaper. I'm gonna be playing with wah envelopes all night :)

    This is mainly used for post-performance mixing and such, but you could probably do it in a live setting. You would need to set up all of your effects and envelopes in advance, and then arm that track for recording. Then turn on the recording monitoring for the track. This would mean that you'd hear what you were playing through the armed track. When you hit play, it would change the effects in real time. However, I can't think of any way this wouldn't cause massive lag.

    Hello my question is not about the video but I have a "problem" who is annoying. The problem is: wen I add a new track the automation-envelope parameter are automatically displaying and it take place and make the session incomprehensible. I do not use so mutch the automation so have then display on my screen all long off the project is verry painfull. Hide all the envelope panel track per track is just too long and I want deactivate this option.
    That makes a moment tan I search what parameter is the source of the problem but I can't found'it.
    Thanks for help

      Just trying to be thorough. :-) But yeah, this could have been trimmed down. Nothing like looking back on a video six years after making it!

    Do you know a way to turn fx on and off so they are not using cpu resources when they are bypassed? I've noticed using this method you have to have the fx on.

    • @vikingguitar
      @vikingguitar  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Michael Heslop I think there's an option in the Reaper Preferences that lets you set this. Also, you could "Freeze" the track, which basically makes a new versions with all the effects cooked in, and then you can "Unfreeze" it if you need to make adjustments.

    LMAO as he started explaining I thought "Volume was a really stupid example, you can just use automation." It is automation. Envelopes is automation. (what other DAWs call the same feature)
