The first car I bought with my own money as a poor student back in 1981 was a Fiat 128SL. I loved that car, even when the clutch cable broke for the umpteenth time, always in the middle of an intersection. But it looked fantastic, sounded even better and handled like it was on rails. I eventually sold it for scrap about 10 years later and I regret it to this day. But now I have your video series and I am loving it. I cant help but pretend as I watch that its me bringing my 128 back to life. You clearly have a huge job ahead of you, but the rewards as you pass milestones in the build will be stellar. What you have done so far is just amazing. Don't you dare give up!
Hey mate, its funny how we form emotional connections to cars. The 124 Coupe was the first car i really wanted. I still remember walking home from school with my best mate and saw one sitting in the front yard of a nearby house. I remember thinking to myself, "That is the coolest thing i've ever seen!!" Back then the internet was really a thing so i searched for any books or magazines that had any information on then. I wanted to know everything! A few years later i was determined to find one for my first car, luckily my parents talked me out of it, a 30yo, double weber, Italian sports car, may not have been the most reliable car for a young 16yo to be burning around town in. For so many years i kept telling myself, "One day i'm going to buy one, and finally have that car i've always wanted" That day finally came, and here we are! Thanks for watching!
