- This video shows how to find top dead center TDC and adjust the valve lash on my 2005 Yamaha YFM50 Raptor. It is the same for all raptor 50s and 80s and most pit bikes and small atvs
Intake valve clearance should be .002
Exhaust valve clearance should be .004
Here is the feeler guage I used: amzn.to/2UhgkQV - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
My raptor 80 would take for ever to get going. Check the valves the top was to tight adjusted it now Cranks on the first try no more 30min to get going thanks for the video
Glad to help
Thank you for this video! Our YFM80 would not start from cold and this solved it. .002 on the intake side! I could not believe it- fired right up!
Thanks this helped me out. Thank you.
Glad it helped!!
Why am I subscribed? Oh yeah you were on the news
Haha! Not all my videos are as excited. But they aren’t all as boring as this one 😁. Please stick around
@@burnout_MEDIA I will lol
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you
No prob. Glad it helped
@@burnout_MEDIA machine has no compression. Valves adjusted properly. Trying to decide if worth the fix. Parts availability an issue
Yeah that’s tricky. You can pick up a top end kit for pretty cheap if you want to do the work
i have my valve sproket out, new valves and cannot figure out how to put it back with proper timing..
Just know u a hero bro on my momma
LOL thanks!
Awesome video sir! Quick question, what would cause those to move out of calibration? Just time/vibrations?
Time and use. Metal stretches and wears over time.
Hello from England man 👍
Hey man!
Correct me if I am wrong but did u not have it tdc for the intake side
It actually doesn’t matter where on the stroke it is s as long as the valve is lifted
Where do i find the valve clearance for the raptor 80?
Intake .003 exhaust .004
Do you have to torque those nuts?
You should until you have a good feel for it.
