Excellent video John!!! It expanded my knowledge on how the "right arm fold" should be working in the backswing and downswing. Another piece of the puzzle I am looking for in changing my swing for the better. I always enjoy the simplicity of your analysis! Keep up the good work!!!
great video John. love the way you teach, very easy to understand. thank you . do you have a video that at impact ? how i throw the club out with the right arm?
John great video I’ve been working on getting the right elbow folding and pointing down using tour striker smart ball the only thing I’m questioning is how early you say the right arm folds watch Xander schauffele and many others don’t bend that rt elbo until very late in the swing. What’s your thoughts on folding early vs late. Thx
Jeff, you can do either. There's nothing wrong with a late fold of the elbow, Nicklas, Norman, and a whole bunch more. It's more preference BUT if you use the one piece move, make sure you still get the club around you and not just up by the end of the backswing.
Hi John I agree with everything you said; but as you know our arms and hands have several moving parts that are impossible for us golfers to control or think about. After all golfers only have a second and a half to swing their club and should take only one thought as they are swinging their club back and forth. True? So at age 74 I cheat a little and do what no PGA teacher has ever taught. As I am saying ‘Hello’ to my ball at address I deliberately drop my trail right shoulder feeling it’s weight above my trail side. This immediately raises my right shoulder precisely as much as it needs to be raise before I swing my club. From that point I consciously raise my trail shoulder which them lower my lead shoulder. I then know that my entire body will respond and that what goes up in one direction must come down in the same direction and then magically my swing is over with my one and only swing thought. Cheers
I'm going to spit hairs with you a little here, Thomas. The most we should have is one swing key back and one down. These are not thoughts, they are movements. And never forget, what works IS RIGHT! The whole idea behind this great game is to have something to focus on that helps us predict the flight!
@@JohnDunigan it’s all about the secondary tilting of our trail side. This movement alone actually allows us to activates our obliques muscle group which are essential in our swing. Cheers
Are you saying that dropping your trail (right) shoulder immediately raises your trail (right) shoulder? How do you raise your right shoulder by dropping it?
one of the best and easy to understand videos i have ever watched..thanks alot
Thanks Henry!
Thank you. Love the lesson. I also like the feel the head lesson.
Rock on!
My goodness! What a great section about not lifting the elbow circa 6:40. You’re a great teacher -and funny too!
Thanks Christian! Share with your golf buddies please!

Test this one out: th-cam.com/video/DHAe5Iz3dQ4/w-d-xo.html
Nice job! My swing thought is to do a bicep curl with my right arm on the backswing and letting the "weight" fall on the downswing.
I like it!
JD very helpful I usually can’t keep my right arm external thru the shot, I will try this drill… slow and thru.👍🇨🇦
Yes start slowly and build up gradually!
Morning John !!!
Morning, Alex!

@@JohnDunigan I was referring to the first two sentences of Mr Fraser's initial posting.
In your left arm video you made it sound like the left arm is what powers the swing and that you shouldn't use your right arm.
Sorry for the confusion. We have two arms AND a body. We should use all of them, but correctly!
