Man I forgot how great of a car the Focus RS is
Yes it had its own issues but nonetheless it was the first and last time we got an European icon like the Focus RS here to America as it is one of the only rally bred hot hatches
Would love to get one as a project car then again there’s now the GR Corolla which fills that void

@@basithph8958 Don’t get me wrong, I love that Toyota built those cars, but I would not say these cars fill the void left by the RS and the STI. They try, but in my view they come up short. I obviously hope the GR cars will have great sales and reward Toyota for their investment in a niche segment.

But otherwise mine is still going pretty strong.

I have a ST, and it's a blast to drive. The biggest issue I have with it is simple enough - the lack of a factory differential (ie: trac-loc or Quaiffe). The electronic traction control (ick!) is not sufficient to keep the torque steer under control. It'll never be as stable as the AWD RS, but at least having good front wheel drive with a good diff would make it much better on throttle and coming out of the corners.
Mods I have are similar to what the RS has - blowoff valve (because the ford recirc valve failed and they dont sell just the seal that fails), and an exhaust (GT350 active muffler welded and fabbed up by myself) which comes out in the stock location but sounds much rowdier...

I bought mine new in 2017. Had 2k miles up until 2 years ago. I’m at 40k right now. My biggest regret was not driving it more often. It’s a blast to drive and enjoy every single mile. Change that PTU and RDU oil though.

Drive it however you see fit. I put 1k miles a month on my RS since I drive it for work and I visit several sites a day. I would say drive it everywhere because it’s such a blast. Keep in mind the car has been discontinued for 5 years so parts, especially for interior pieces, are getting discontinued. I will drive mine until I can’t. I don’t care about resale value.
