Think you got them all no lie. On some New York shit I really liked Benny the butcher and 38 spesh stabbed and shot 2. I think future and metro gotta get some love that first project was impactful
GNX is dope but the dance records for me have a shelf life in everyday listening. Tyler project is super dope... that doesnt get enough credit imo. Doechii of course is dope, and I cant wait to see what she does moving forward. Not ready to hand out crowns yet there when we have so many sustained excellence out right now. Great list
Rob! This year was your year🫡💯 You gave us the truth no matter what they tried to make you do…You stayed true to yourself most importantly and gave us facts along with reality. I wish you a blessed 2025 🙏🏾✌️
Peace. Much love thank you. This was our year, cause if it wasn’t for folks like yourself I’d be speaking to nobody. Speaking to myself. One thing i would say tho, nobody really ever tried to make me do nothing.
Too many albums dropped this year and it’s to the point where if everyone isn’t making it a job to lock in every Friday to find everything that’s been released then a lot of good music goes under the radar and maybe 20% of albums that should be considered for these end year lists don’t get properly mentioned and that affects even established artists too. It’s hard to put a blame on someone but these algorithms definitely don’t show you everything that gets released anymore
Fav artist is all wat u mentioned plus central cee I wish u understood french I would hv shared sum names Anyways love ur content Regards from east Africa

This is a rough order but don't want to spend too much time ordering it: GNX - Kendrick Lamar Blue Lips - ScHoolboy Q Chromakopia - Tyler the Creator Alligator Bites Never Heal - Doechii I Lay Down My Life For You - Jpegmafia You Only Die 1nce - Freddie Gibbs Why Lawd? - NxWorries Elite Vessel - Lexa Gates 9 - Kenny Mason Angel Eyes - Kenny Mason We Don't Trust You - Future & Metro Boomin Karma - SiR Glimmer of God - Jean Dawson Head Rush - Channel Tres Dark Times - Vince Staples Gap Year - Laila! My top 3 Hip-Hop albums this year (no order): ☆ Alligator Bites Never Heal ~ Doechii ☆ GNX ~ Kendrick ☆ Death of Slim Shady ~ Eminem These three projects combined give me a balanced musical palette for the type of rap I like to consume. There's soulful, fun, introspective, comical, storytelling, & lyrical/technical components throughout all 3, mixed with great production 👌🏾 Other Hip-Hop records I thoroughly enjoyed this year: - Blue Lips ~ ScHoolboy Q - World Wide Whack ~ Tierra Whack - Please Don't Cry ~ Rapsody - Error 404 ~ Nasaan - We All We Got ~ Tha Dogg Pound - The Force ~ LL Cool J - G.O.D.'s Network ~ Rakim - BRAVADO + INTiMO ~ IDK - Soul Burger ~ Ab-Soul - Crossroads ~ Cordae - 9 ~ Kenny Mason Mustard, Big Sean, & Kenny Mason's other project were pretty good too.
My personal favorites of the year are Cyberpunk Rhapsody by Noveliss, Ultra 85 by Logic, I'll Always Come Find You by Blxst, We Still Don't Trust You by Future. Honorable mentions go to Marv, Nascent, Rapsody, 21, Che Noir
Might Delete Later was #1 for me, I still have a lot to catch up on tho. Cole & Kendrick kept me the most engaged this year even outside the beef. The 2014 Forest Hills Drive anniversary release has some dope bonus tracks too. Overall it was a dope year for Hip-Hop!
Might Delete Later and Com/Pete Rock imo had the most hiphop centric joints to me this year. And that's typically what I'm here for... dope raps and dope beats. I like to keep it simple over here lol
My top 10 albums. Also, journalist of the year is between Rob & TCM 1. Blue Lips- Schoolboy Q 2. GNX- K Dot 3. Dark Times- Vince Staples 4. Alligator Bites Never Heal- Doechii 5. Chromakopia- Tyler 6. Enigma With An Attitude- Ty Farris 7. Bloodstained Suede 2 - IamGawd 8. RICHAXXHAITIAN- Mach Hommy 9. Samurai - Lupe 10. Might Delete Later- Cole
I can't argue with that list. It's pretty solid. It does sound like there's love for the West Coast at least from you. But over the years nationally? Air play and recognition in general has been pretty scarce for this region and most commentary is not positive. So here's my list for 2024 in order: 1. Blue Lips 2. GNX 3. Chromakopia 4. Alligator Bites Never Heal (technically a mixtape, does this really count?) 5. Please Don't Cry 6. Dark Times 7. King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 8. Samurai 9. Soul Burger 10. The Auditorium Vol. 1 11. W.A.W.G (We All We Got) 12. The FORCE 13. The Thief Next to Jesus
1. MDL - J. Cole 2. Soul Burger - Ab Soul 3, The Auditorium - Common & Pete Rock 4. Blue Lips - ScHoolboy Q 5. DARK TIMES - Vince Staples 6. GNX - Kendrick Lamar 7. Please Don't Cry - Rhapsody 8. You Only Die Once - Freddie Gibbs 9. Kill The King - A-Reece 10. euno. - Stars Aligned
My fav for year are def GNX, chromokopia, alligator bites never heal, blue lips, you only die 1once( mad anniversary was removed from album), stabbed n shot 2, afrikan rebel,
*My Top 10 of 2024* 1. Dark Times - Vince Staples 2. GNX - Kendrick Lamar 3. The Force - LLCoolJ 4. Please Don't Cry - Rapsody 5. My Story Got Stories - Bruiser Wolf 6. RICHAXXHAITIAN - Mach Hommy 7. I Lay Down My... - JPEGMAFIA 8. F.U.N. - Slum Village 9. Alligator Bites Never Heal - Doechii 10. CHROMAKOPIA - Tyler the Creator *Special mentions/discoveries (No particular order)* * Oroku Saki - Mickey Diamond * Blue Lips - ScHoolboy Q * Another triumph of ghetto... - Open Mike Eagle * Imaginal Disk - Magdalena Bay * REVELATOR - Elucid (Prof. Skye put me on this.) * Cowboy Carter - Beyonce * Sweet Love - Anita Baker (Yeah, I'm late to the party.) * Never Too Much - Luther Vandross (Yep, late again! Thanks Kdot!)
In my opinion GNX sounded like he was having fun on this project. Not much thought but just rappin cuz he can. I'm looking forward to the "real" album as the rumors say.
I keep going back to Might Delete Later... I think people over time are gonna see that project for what it was. He def didnt believe what he was sayin on 7 Minute Drill; remember in the series when he talked about how he had a way to say things to hurt peoples feelings as a kid? This was that... bc nobody believed what he was sayin lol.
I would add The Thief Next to Jesus -KA, The Skeleton Key by Roc Marciano and The Alchemist, Soul Burger- Ab Soul, Alligator Bites Never Heal- Doechii, ScHoolBoy Q- Blue Lips, Vince Staples- Dark Times, and GNX- Kendrick (on constant repeat) Gonna check out Freddie Gibbs and Rapsody in a few…🫡🔥💯‼️
1. Kendrick Lamar - GNX 2. Bashy - Being Poor Is Expensive Then Doechii / Tyler / JasonMartin / Gibbs in no particular order. Regardless, it’s been a great year for Hip Hop 💪🏼

I'll be honest, while Kendrick had the momentum this year, ScHoolboy Q, to me, has the album of the year. Then GNX, then probably Vince Staples Dark Times

Aye Mark what’s your thoughts on Snoop Doggs and Dr Dre’s #missonary album my top five are 1 auditorium 2 skeleton key 3 definitely gnx 4 st Chromia 5crocketile scars never heal
crocodile tears is one of my favorite Cole songs ever. I had that on repeat for months. I agree about 7minute drill - the name of the album fits it lol "might delete later". though i would fully disagree about Kendrick being rapper of the year without GNX. maybe rapper of the west coast. J.Cole with Might Delete later was 100% better than the diss bs between drake and Kendrick. Though i may be biased because Westcoast rap isn't my favorite, well maybe outside of Coast Contra. i loved old-school Westcoast rappers, i grew up listening to west coast rappers, but things have changed. west coast rap is too poppy for me lately, i really dig the dark side of east/Midwest. i feel like east coast gives me that grimy feel and i love that grime, that dirt, that street sound.
from a content and storytelling standpoint, Cole imo has ran circles around everyone. Drake had a chance with the 100 gigs but they kinda left that undone, which was weird. Cole just wrapped up the year nicely and won the storytelling/content game imo
Yeah man I have, Might Delete Later “ in my playlist so I listen to it often if not daily I’m hearing at least one song from the album. And Crocodile Tearz. Is crazy!!!…Doechii is very special!. I rock out with GNX as well, very dope album…

No disrespect be most of you'll opinion be base of the internet if you was outside in the streets or clubs all over the country all you is hear is mixtape Pluto songs I'm not even a future fan you'll just don't understand the impact he got outside of the internet I haven't heard Kendrick at all really getting played or less I was on the west coast he is impact is not like future that's just the internet
I’m in LA right now. Was out last night, and heard so much Kendrick. Sings back to back to back. My opinion is based off of what i like. Doesn’t matter to me what the clubs are playing. The stuff that i love, is what i listed.
maybe regional? I've heard Kendrick bumping in Chattanooga quite a bit. I've even heard lesser known artists like Big Scarr but he's from Memphis so makes sense
Impact is great, but like Rob said, it’s his favorite albums. Plus, I personally don’t judge albums or songs based on how popular they are in the clubs. Good music is good music, and Kendrick delivered a lot of that this year. Respect to Future, though! Big year for him, too.

Think you got them all no lie. On some New York shit I really liked Benny the butcher and 38 spesh stabbed and shot 2. I think future and metro gotta get some love that first project was impactful
I didn’t find myself going back to Benny a ton. It’s been a minute for me. Yeah that first future and metro is up there.
You’re the goat of this.
Thank you
GNX is dope but the dance records for me have a shelf life in everyday listening.

@ And that is what makes you a great and valuable journalist/creator to our culture 🙏🏾
@ 🫡 happy holidays to you
Too many albums dropped this year and it’s to the point where if everyone isn’t making it a job to lock in every Friday to find everything that’s been released then a lot of good music goes under the radar and maybe 20% of albums that should be considered for these end year lists don’t get properly mentioned and that affects even established artists too. It’s hard to put a blame on someone but these algorithms definitely don’t show you everything that gets released anymore
Fav artist is all wat u mentioned plus central cee
I wish u understood french
I would hv shared sum names
Anyways love ur content
Regards from east Africa

Great list. Wonder if anyone is capable of not putting GNX at #1?
Hahaha. Nope!!
I got it at number 2...had to be honest. I been bumpin Vince Staples Dark Times more.

2024 album of the year GNX
I can't argue with that list. It's pretty solid. It does sound like there's love for the West Coast at least from you. But over the years nationally? Air play and recognition in general has been pretty scarce for this region and most commentary is not positive. So here's my list for 2024 in order:

Gibbs album was the best this year to me.
He really nailed it with this album
In my opinion GNX sounded like he was having fun on this project. Not much thought but just rappin cuz he can. I'm looking forward to the "real" album as the rumors say.
I keep going back to Might Delete Later... I think people over time are gonna see that project for what it was. He def didnt believe what he was sayin on 7 Minute Drill; remember in the series when he talked about how he had a way to say things to hurt peoples feelings as a kid? This was that... bc nobody believed what he was sayin lol.
I would add The Thief Next to Jesus -KA, The Skeleton Key by Roc Marciano and The Alchemist, Soul Burger- Ab Soul, Alligator Bites Never Heal- Doechii, ScHoolBoy Q- Blue Lips, Vince Staples- Dark Times, and GNX- Kendrick (on constant repeat)

Might delete later.
crocodile tears is one of my favorite Cole songs ever.
When the bass comes in on Crocodile Tears >>>>>
from a content and storytelling standpoint, Cole imo has ran circles around everyone. Drake had a chance with the 100 gigs but they kinda left that undone, which was weird. Cole just wrapped up the year nicely and won the storytelling/content game imo
Kingikeem- If God Say the same
Jameel Naim X- Brenda Had a baby
Both great albums check them out
Common and Pete Rock
Schoolboy Q

10 albums. And not one from future. Almost made me unsubscribe bro. This is ridiculous 😂 smh
Benny and 38 spesh
Kenny just dropped money with out me in a response to Cole 2014 DX 🥷👣👣
GNX
