    hands down my favorite gun to shoot. I was on the fence with 6.5 grendle and the 6 ARC, until I bought my ARC and added my touches to her. if you are thinking about getting one, don't think about it, get it. it's an absolute blast to shoot. Awesome shooting man, I wish Maryland had some long range spots to shoot out that distance. Best I have found is a synthetic 800 yards. I'm pinging steel but just reaching out to an actual 800 is a different story when taking in flight time and winds. People think I'm strange and ask why do you need to shoot that far, if you have to ask you'll never understand. Awesome shooting once again.

      It is definitely the most capable chambering in the 15 platform. My boy took a mule deer this year @ 550y and anchored him with a 105 BTHP, very impressed with this little round, fun to shoot steel at long range and will perform great on medium sized game. Thanks for the comments, and thanks for watching.

      The 6arc is absolutely an amazing caliber. I just finished a build and it is an absolute tack driver that has Tons Great energy behind it it’s incredible hearing it smack steel at 4-500 rounds it sounds like it’s hitting harder than 7.62x51 stuff at that distance. I am not sure if it Really is but it seems to get there quicker and hit harder.
      Although I may be jaded because I love the round so much😅. Regardless I’m super happy with the performance of 6arc

      @MrTylero28 agreed, its an absolute blast to shoot and for the distance and energy output doesn't wear out your shoulder like the 6.5 or 300 by comparison. Though to be fair 6.5 and 300 blackout ain't really wearing out your shoulder the way my 300 weatherby dose or my 7mm rem mag weatherby.

      Thankfully, not too expensive to put on to an already present AR15 receiver.

    Good video. Go to lumber yard, get a roll of orange marker tape 1" wide. It's thin vinal and no adhesive. Next 6 or more, 6' wood poles or whatever available. Staple 12" pieces of the orange marker tape every 12" or 24" from bottom to topon the same side . Place poles on either side of your target at 300 yard intervals give or take and out of close to target view as not to distract. This will help you or anyone train to read wind for these shots. Not that I'm saying you can't already read the wind. Before hand set one pole up some where that winds blow regular and use a wind meter and watch how much the 12 " piece of vinal raises up and measure the wind speed. This in turn works great as training aid to how much grass, brush, shrubs, leaves and limbs will bend or move at what speed. Plus it'll give a good indication which way the wind blows. Most people can't set poles up at events but training with this will give most an advantage of reading wind from point of from and to the target at what ever distance your at.

    I’ve learned that in order to mitigate the recoil of the rifle, I do a negative load on the bipods. Which means you’re pulling the rifle into your shoulder as you pull the bipod legs to the rear instead of pushing forward on them. Obviously don’t pull too hard because it’ll fold back on the Harris bipod. Reason why is because when pulling everything to the rear, you have less movement to the rear during recoil. When pushing into the legs and pulling the rifle stock to the rear, you’re creating more space for rear movement during recoil. I pull back while doing long range shooting.

    I love how he's got several sets of calibers measuring every point of his reloads and the hornedy shoots just as good.... Haha I mean true hobbyist. Semi auto as well. I have noticed over the years that you can still get tight groups without all the insane steps some take when reloading.

    • @wyominghighdesertprecision
      @wyominghighdesertprecision  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      With accuracy, consistency is key. I think modern manufacturing processes have improved the “consistency “ of factory ammo, and I guarantee they do the same “insane” steps in their process.

    • @non-binaryjesus
      @non-binaryjesus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@wyominghighdesertprecision you are correct about the modern manufacturing process. Gonna have to say i doubt they do that to every round. Maybe some spot checks and qc. But that's my point. You can get the same accurate shots with factory match ammo. I mean what you are doing is hobby type stuff. I used to reload myself. I get it. Just saying it's not necessary.

    • @donalddevall7184
      @donalddevall7184 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@wyominghighdesertprecision The benefits are still there... its just an effort vs reward thing. A Surgeon action with a Kreiger barrel sitting in a MDT chassis firing rounds that are in identical length Lapua cases, with weighed charges, topped with Lapua Scenars will absolutely outshoot a Ruger RPR with Gold Metal Match ammo.
      But is .5" at 100 yards worth 10K and hours at the loading bench? That's a personal choice. :D

    • @TheLibertyCompanyLLC
      @TheLibertyCompanyLLC ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem with most reloaders is they chase consistency at 100 yards which is great if you hunt varmints. At 1200 yards a bullet that hits a .50 group at 100 isn’t as good as a bullet that hits a 1.10” group if the 1.10” is 150 fps faster. It’s all about what you’re trying to do with it. Like most things in life, you have to sacrifice something to get something else.

    So i first heard of the "JP Challenge" from Frank of "Snipers Hide". He did it with the JP AR10, i believe in 6.5CM.
    The challenge is to hit the steel silhouette at 800 yards by getting all three shots off before you hear the report of the first.
    I have only tried it with 5.56 thus far. I tried it with my Noveske 18" SPR and could only get two but that's because it has a Silencer Co. flash hider on it and i don't have a can. The Noveske is incredibly accurate. My screen icon is a 0.4" five shot group i shot with it using 77 grain IMI OTM's. So factory ammo, not hand loads.
    Despite the Noveske being my most accurate AR15 varient, my DDM4V11Pro is no slouch in the accuracy department and since it's marketed as a "3 gun" rifle... it has their competition comp. on it. I was able to complete the JP challenge on the second attempt at 804 yards with the DD V11Pro and the IMI 77 grain OTM's. I got it on video as well using a phoneskope on my Vortex Razor spotting scope.
    When i finish my 6CM build, i will try it with that, as well as my 6.5CM build that i'm still tweaking. I will have the JP recoil eliminators on both of those so high hopes. Of course i really want to complete it at 1,000 and then perhaps 1,150 or 1,200.
    I'm looking at 6mmARC right now. I'm not sure i want to get into it. In theory, it seems like a great round. Sure i can hit a milk jug in 2 or 3 shots at 1,000 with my Noveske SPR but i want a little more power and distance on an AR15 varient and the 6mm ARC seem like it might be the way to go. Had been eyeballing the Grendel for many years and just never pulled the trigger on it.
    What kind of magazines do you use for 6mmARC ? can you use the 7.62x39 mags ? or is that a no go ? I need to revisit the ballistics again. I did when it first came out but have completely forgotten. 105 grains seems like a great bullet weight as a step up from 77 grains.
    One of my biggest concerns other than magazines would be the strength of the bolt and ejector.
    One tip for you with the JP challenge.... if you have a strap across the top of your mat, just push up against that. Worked wonders for me.

      @@wyominghighdesertprecision Yeah, I'm using the same ones, I might try a mag from Brenton USA. I have a very similar set up to yours, AR stoner upper and rail with a Faxon 20" heavy match barrel. I've run the Rise triggers and they're excellent for the money, but I've fallen in love with TriggerTech. Bolt gun is built off a Savage action with a 24" barrel from Preferred Barrel Blanks, sitting in a Oryx chassis from MDT. Arken glass on both. Amazing Scopes for the money, and I'm a Vortex fanboy. lol. Both guns actually shoot factory ammo very well. Trying to work up better loads, but with current powder and bullet shortages it's been limited. Leverevolution has worked the best so far.
