Mostly they have that reputation because some barrels shoot like the one above, while others are completely unremarkable. Maybe it's an over-sampling of complainers, like BA has online. But I stay away from Faxon because of the inconsistency reputation. I have good luck with Odin Works for a wee bit more $$.
As mentioned in the video I had no experience with faxon products prior to this video so had no clue what to expect. While I’m working with a sample size of I am extremely impressed with the performance out of both my barrel and the bcg…. Especially given the price. I was originally going to use a much higher priced barrel for this build but decided to scrap that plan when I saw how long their lead time was. The faxon was in stock so I pulled the trigger and now I’m a fan!
6 ARC already wins at that. Its flatter due to the higher BC. 6.5 Grendel can't make use of high BC projos since its at the huge expense of taking any case capacity away.
"Looks like we've had some pretty good performance from this CCI Standard Velocity 40 grain 22lr at a thousand. Let's go ahead and push it out a little further." .... Your humility is admirable, but man... You can shoot. Fun to watch
Haha this comment cracked me up! I’ve always been a “you never know until you try” kind of guys and I’m not afraid to show off the real results. You’re not going to have a 100% all the time so I want to show realistic shooting on my channel with the hopes I can help viewers manage expectations for their own long range shooting. Lots more content like this in the works so hope you’ll continue to stay tuned!
I took my Ballistic Advantage 6 ARC out long range for the first time today. 850 was the farthest I had access to today, so that's where I started. Figured my elevation and windage in 4dof, dialed and first shot was 1 minute high and to the right. Dialed the correction and hit the next 4 in a row. I LOVE this cartridge. Double taps. Love seeing my impact so easily. Thanks Zach for the push over the edge to get mine built!
Yes please! Im planning a build and def want this caliber to become the most talked about wierdo caliber on youtube so it sticks around and ammo becomes available everywhere like 300blk and 6.5 creed.
I’m not sure why your channel isn’t huge. I remember Demolition Ranch throwing a quad hawk and firing a tank round. He is in the big boy league. But you, not only show excellent videos of practical shooting at long range and interim ranges your videos help us to learn new ideas around these platforms we enjoy so much. Keep it up my friend. I may be subscribed to some 400 channels but yours is the only one that I set for notification. I live in central Montana. My range off the porch is 716 yards. My range at the driveway entrance is 950. My rifles and pistols get worked out even more now when I see something on your channel and that happens often. Thank you. DOL De Oppresso Liber
Really appreciate the continued support here! Growing a channel takes time and mine is picking up steam everyday! I plan to keep pumping out content just like this as it seems to be working. The goal with each video is certainly to be entertaining but also to provide value for the viewer so I hope that always come across. Hope you’ll stay tuned to check out my next video and don’t forget to share with your friends!
Was actually out in the garage, since it’s so dang hot, loading 6 ARC. My 95gr VLD’s are tops in my APF AR and the 107 smk’s take it in the bolt gun. Best way to describe it, they are the dasher’s little brother. I have been running 6 ARC for going on 2 years now. If it had come out during any other time period, it would be way more popular. The pandemic really hurt it’s initial release. It does seem to be picking up a little steam. Glad to see you using/testing it.
I took mine out to 1000 yards the first day I got it. I sighted it in at 100 yards then took it out to 1000. I missed my first four shots as my wind call was about .5 tenth off. Once I figured out the wind I connected 7 of my next 10 shots on a 18" plate. I hadn't shot out that far befor and it was a blast. I have an Atheris Rifle upper which shoots 3/4 inch MOA at 100 yards. I was using the 105 grain Hornady Black which travels 2690 fps out of my 20 inch barrel. 6 ARC is a great round and affordable to shoot. I have a walk around review on my channel and some other videos out at the range.
I can promise you this is happening! I just have to find the time to get it filmed. I’ll probably do a separate video for each different caliber but I can’t wait to see how things stack up side by side. Stay tuned!
Definitely would love to see real world comparison of the Faxon 14.5 / 6mm Arc vs 6.5 Creedmoor and the 308 Winchester. I have the 14.5 6Arc barrel ( haven’t built it yet still collecting parts) and I also have a SAVAGE 12FV 26” CM and a 24” Howa varmint brl 308 . Looking fwd to your results.
ive bought an 18 and a 24" BA for ARC and shot exclusively the 108 ELDM Hornady match. Consistently shoots sub moa and groups nicely (best is .258 at 500 yards, average is about .6 moa), the max range I have is 500 yards but of the calibers I have this is the easiest to maintain groups at range and on target. Still watching this video, but will very much consider building a 14.5". The 6 ARC has bridged the gap of something bigger than 223 (it does everything .224 V should have done, and it obsoletes 6.5G, 6.8 spc and a few other small frame AR cartridges), but maintains small frame AR and brings more power and actually can shoot 1k or more.
Exactly what I’m thinking! The 14.5” barrel is very handy, even with the suppressor on it but as shown in this video very capable of making hits way out there. I’ve ended up liking this upper and 6arc way more than I expected! Thanks for watching!
@@MountainsMulletsMerica looks like I'm going to build a m'arc 18. Seems like the logical step in upgrading my rifle, especially living in an area with lots of wind and open fields.
I took my 20” 6MM ARC out coyote hunting this past Saturday and stopped by a buddies range to hit some steel at distance. While i was limited on ammo, i was able to check zero (suppressed) and make some POI shift adjustments, then engage steel at 380 and 580 first round impacts. I personally wouldn’t buy a rifle with less than 18” barrel. If i need shorter, I’ll build a pistol setup. But This thing still packs quite the wallop at those distances, significantly more than my 556/223. I was impressed. In fact, there was no distinguishable difference in the impact sound between 6mm arc and 6mm creedmore at 380 and 580 yards both shooting 103 ELDx. I LOVE this little cartridge and the punch it packs out of the versatile AR15 and can’t wait to harvest whitetail and coyotes with it in the future.
I truly believe the 6ARC is here to stay and will be the next evolution of the AR-15 platform , it out performs other calibers in the AR-15 platform . Geissele Automatics produces 6ARC rifles for small units in our Military already so that says a lot about the 6ARC.
It's definitely riding a popularity wave during the past 1.5-2 yrs, and factory ammo selections in 6 ARC are pretty good now. Performance justifies the popularity, if ammo supplies stay strong it will stay popular I'd bet.
Hit a can of spray paint in two shots at a half mile last weekend, the wind bucking difference between 108gr 6ARC and 77gr 556 at that distance really is night and day. It really does hang with .308 but out of a 16” AR
Love your videos. Perfect mix of well thought out, well presented information, beautiful landscapes, and satisfying shooting footage. Other people dont understand the 45 second intros of action music and slow mo focusing on how cool THEY look is lame as hell. You look cool because you're smart as shit, good at shooting, have cool guns, and don't BS. Telling people I know they need to sub you
I have been super impressed and happy with my 6mm ARC build. My 18" 1-7.5 twist is working great at range (shooting sub MOA). I bagged my very first deer this season with the 6mm ARC and it dropped the 140 lbs doe in her tracks at ~125 yards with the Hornady Precision Hunter 103 gr ELD-X. My setup was a red dot sight before the hunt for home defense, I switched to my 3-9 X 40mm, I used my laser bore sighter in my 25' hallway then test fired it with one shot on a target at 50m, it hit about 1-2" high which was about where my scope was zeroed for 200m so I left it there. At the 125 yrds it was point of aim and the bullet passed between ribs on the entry side got both lungs and blew the heart into undiscernible chunks and broke 3 ribs on the way out. I'm in love!
Awesome build man. I’ve been shooting and reloading the ARC for a while. It’s a really great cartridge in an AR. I’ve got a 22 inch Rainier Arms barrel and it’s really accurate. The ARC is even better in a bolt gun because you can load it hotter up to 62k PSI. In your case Faxon was a great way to go. I’ve got 4 Faxon barrels in different calibers and they all shoot amazingly well. They are my go to company for AR barrels and they always perform great, especially for the money.
I’ve been hearing of 6 ARC for awhile, but this is the first I’ve bothered to watch anything concerning it. Needless to say I’m very, very impressed. This little cartridge is doing more than I thought it would.
Cool build dude. This is exactly the build I was considering but decided to use Grendel instead due to availability of cheap steel case. The cool thing for me is that going to ARC in the future would only require a barrel changes. Same mags and bolts.
Glad you enjoyed that! I debated on if I should include the nighttime footage or not. Decided to give it a go because it’s not something you see in my YT videos. Lots more content just like this in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned!
I was blown away by the performance of an 18" Proof Research AR I built using factory 105's. Cant wait to take it out to extended ranges and play with handloads.
Stumbled upon the video and have to say I love the content. Very high quality and well spoken. I have a couple 1000 yard ranges within an hour or two drive from me but those wide open spaces you have there are nice!
Great production quality..its why your channel is going to explode! the night shots were really cool...love that steel target impact light! This round is gaining popularity, I may have to jump on the 6arc train...would love to see what you do with some hand loads (esp with the SD). Would also like to see this 14" barrel up against an 18" or maybe 20-22" esp with regard to velocity. But you have proven the shorty can reach way out...haha...Keep up the great work!
I built a 6ARC a few months back. It’s incredible. Especially what it does outbid a small frame AR. I’m running an 18” barrel. Definitely a tack driver out to 1000. No place to test beyond that yet
My first 6 Arc barrel was the Faxon/Brownells 1:8 20" barrel. It was a performer. My most recent barrel is an 18" Spade Composites Stainless barrel. I took it to 700 yards with 103gr ELDX handloads a few weeks ago. 12/12 after we figured out the dope. We ran out of time to take it to 1000 but it is in the works. Great video. Love the content and would love to pick your brain on some other things if you ever have time. Thank you
I've been very impressed with my 6mm ARC. I built around an 18" Proof barrel and it's been a dream to shoot. The only negative thing I can really say about the cartridge is that (as with the Grendel) the 52k psi upper limit for gas guns can be misleading for less experienced handloaders. If a guy is used to loading until he starts to see traditional pressure signs, he'll be well into a range that will lead to bolt lug breakage and ruined brass before anything really shows up on the case head. You really have to either use a tool like Quickload or GRT, or stick with book loads (and I'm betting you know all of this already).
Great video, man! You should do a quick 10 minute video on working up your hand loads for this build. Maybe try to find a load that's reasonably inexpensive to make the cartridge more appealing.
Building my first AR. I ordered a CMMG 20” upper chambered in 6MM ARC. Ammo seems relatively cheap considering and IN-STOCK! I am throwing on a Steiner M8Xi 1-8 LPVO scope. 🙂 gonna order a little ammo, and some Grendel mags. I hope I like it! First AR build ever.
I finally got my SanTan billet upper & lower set I ordered 3 years ago. I have it set to build out a 6 ARC. I’m thinking of an 18” barrel to get more speed. I’m going lightweight as my upper has no forward assist or ambi controls
Been going back and forth on what I wanted to do with one of the lowers I’ve had sitting in the safe for a couple years. After seeing your results, I have no doubts that a 6 ARC is in my future.
Man I tell you what…. I thought 6arc was one of these over hyped new fad calibers before trying it. Now that I’ve got several hundred rounds down range I’m a fan. It’s now my favorite caliber to shoot 1000 yds and in! You won’t be disappointed if you give it a go!
Awesome! I Love my 6 ARC! 22" Custom X Caliber barrel AR platform. Haven't really stretched it out too far yet, but so far any distance has been easy. I plan on getting another in 14.5".
I’ve been shooting a savage 110 tactical in 6 arc and loving it. Factory ammo shot just under 1” and best groups with handloads at .35” at 100 yards. Love the content!
This has quickly become my dream caliber, I so desperately want to try it out but the fact Hornady is the only people who makes me hesitant to spend a lot of money on a new rifle. The fact it is so soft recoiling, performs so well, can be in such a small lightweight rifle with no real drawback. It can be an ar platform or a mini action. If I was shopping for my first bolt gun and was willing to spend some more money I would have gotten a 6 arc. Especially where I live, I won't be shooting past 500 yards more often than not anyways. I did consider a 6.5 grendel but the ammo situation has more variety and options but not so great on price.
Impressive, your skill is excellent. I assembled one last year with a 20"SS416R Ballistic Advantage Barrel and it shoot well. I have 500 yards available so thats as far as I go. I also reload my cartridges and have a decent batch of 6.5 grendel brass that I resize and they come out real good. Excellent video 😊
Hope you enjoyed it! Lots of shooting channels have covered 6arc but my goal was to put my own spin on the caliber. I came into this experience thinking 6arc was all hype… after a couple hundred rounds though im a big fan!
@MountainsMulletsMerica I'm happy to see that kind of performance from a 14.5 barrel. I know a lot of people like 18" and longer barrels, but I've come to see an AR15 as a fighting rifle. For my use, an AR needs to be compact and handy to use. I personally don't have a use for a 20" rifle in any of the common calibers. If I'm gonna go with a longer barrel, it's a bolt action rifle for me.
Interesting. I don’t have any personal experience with 6.5 Grendel yet but it’s been mentioned many times in comments on this video so I was toying with the idea of giving it a go. What are you seeing as the main advantages to 6arc over the 6.5 Grendel?
@@MountainsMulletsMerica I get much better performance in the wind as well as performance from factory loaded ammo. 6 arc is everything 224 valkyrie claimed to be.
Any chance you could be persuaded to make a video on shooting irons? A demo of where the capabilities/ limitations lie with irons and if/how it's possible to extend those lines, would be awesome. Love the videos!
Thanks for stopping by to check out another video! I moved out here a little 5 years ago from the east coast and quickly realized I’ve landed in a long range paradise. Just trying to share a bit of it with the folks watching my content! More content coming so hope you’ll stay tuned.
I liked your video before watching it because you always have great videos. You shoot 100y group and then get right down to business. Ive been researching this cartridge all week and seeing you post up this morning was perfect. Thank you for the work you do!
I built my first 6 ARC a few months back With a 22” Rainier Arms Ultra match Mod2 1-7” twist rifle +2 gas .875 Superlative gas block and a SixFiveOutfitters 6.5g/6ARC Ultrabolt in a phosphate chrome lined carrier I already had and put a Larue MBT 2S trigger and an H2 JP Silent Captured buffer and the rifle is just super tight and solid all round and it shoots insanely well better than some of my bolt guns Average .5” or better 5 shot groups at 100 yards only got to take it out to 300yds so far but really wanting to take it out to 800+. And I just recently put together a shorter lighter upper with a 18” BA Premium Black SPR 1-7” barrel but I haven’t got to shoot it yet. Will be the first BA barrel I’ve tried too! I am loving the 6ARC though! And finally found some brass last night and ordered 150 pieces of Starline 6ARC brass seems like they just recently must have put out a batch if anyone is looking!
It would be interested to see how the performance compares to a short barrel 6.5 Creedmoor at range. Considering building an AR-15 in 6 ARC or an AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor, but having a hard time deciding if AR-10 is worth the extra heft.
If you're going to be mostly stationary, the bigger frame might be tolerable. But also, I think if you're going to lug that kind of weight then why not run an 18" or 20" in 6 ARC or 6.5 Grendel and have a small frame that's more maneuverable & lighter. Seems the main reason to go with the big frame is heavier projectiles and not merely the ability to run 6.5 Creedmoor pellets.
I've got a 16" ar10 platform and I'm ditching it for the small frame in 6arc. The extra bulk and weight isn't worth it for what I use it for. I've been on the fence about it for a while and a recent hunting trip sealed its fate. It's a really consistent gun to 800 yards but the size and weight in and out of vehicles and stands, I'm over it. This video proves a small frame 14.5 in 6arc will smoke my 16" 308 and be a handier package.
@@SixOFord After getting a .308 Win bolt rifle and enjoying shooting that, I thought of building an AR-10 to have essentially a semi-auto version of my bolt gun. In the end I decided on a 6.5 Grendel mainly because a couple years ago, Grendel ammo was more plentiful & cheaper than 6 ARC. And because I don't have any nearby range facilities regularly open past 500yds, so the better long range performance in wind didn't matter as much to me. I liked the 20" Grendel I built so much, I am building a 16" for a more maneuverable & lighter version. And may still build a 6 ARC because factory ammo is more plentiful and cheaper these days. But the Grendel delivers some nice energy on target when hitting steel at 300+, versus 5.56/.223.
Hopefully if the stars align. Maybe we can see 6.5 grendel.. So far so good. Great shooting Liked and subscribed. Thanks TH-cam algorithm for sending me here. Cant wait to see more content
I would definitely like to see the comparison of the 6mm ARC 14.5 vs a longer barreled 308/556 at distance and how it performs in windy conditions. Pushing the true capabilities of shorter barrels with more aerodynamic bullets at distance is one subject not a lot of other content creators do a good job of explaining.
I have a 24 inch BA barrel, and had very good luck out to 500 yards with the same ammo. I have personally seen 1/3 MOA groups at 500 yards with this setup. I have not had the chance to push past 500. That said, if I could do it over, I would not have gone as long as 24 inch barrel. Your vid, and alot of other experience online has shown that the round is very capable without being such a cumbersome barrel.
I have a 20” BA Premium 6arc barrel that only has about 300 rounds through it. I also have an 18” barrel, so I would like a longer barrel than the 20” Wanna trade? I figure an 18” and 24” would be sweet.
Great shooting! Nice rig also. That round is pretty capable for that barrel length. Love the content. Keep them coming! I’ve been through that area visiting Montana is such a beautiful part of CONUS.
Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to watch and support the channel! Lots more content just like this in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned. I moved out to this area a little over 5 years ago…. I immediately realized I found myself in a long range shooting paradise so just hoping to share a bit of that with the audience in each video.
I would love to see a comparison of this and the 5.56 same barrel lengths (14.5). Really appreciate your videos and the no nonsense style! Keep it up please.
I built one with an Arethis upper and a 20” barrel once I broke the barrel in I haven’t found anything it won’t soot into 3/4 “ or less. Most everything is .5. I really built it for a long range coyote rifle and a short range deer rifle if it’s along and my bolt rifles are at home. Short range deer I’m talking 400 yards maximum with an 80 grain Barnes TTSX
I'm running a 21" Odin works stainless barrel with a Geissele mk18 or 8 handguard, idk but it's the one with a built in Arca. Anyways this gun loves Hornady match 108gr. Running a Geissele SSA-E and my opinion is the right trigger for this caliber, in the ar platform. Shoots sub min and I regularly stretch this out to 750 yards in kernville ca. it's almost too easy. I also have a 20" 6.5 Grendel that I think I'm gonna rebarrel to 6mm arc. I notice it shoots way softer than my Grendel and it just gets out there. I think the 6 arc also for a gasser, allows you to get back on target quickly and allowing you to send multiple shots even at distances like 500-600 yards. I'm sold on the hype.
Thank you! This is my favorite video of your yet! The dusk colors then the night vision shooting were great. Looking forward to what the upper does after you get the SD down with handloads.
Really pumped to hear you enjoyed this one! I had a blast putting this one together and I’m very happy with how it came together. Lots more 6arc content coming so hope you’ll stay tuned.
I just built an 18” arc for predator hunting and some long range plinking. I make consistent hits at 1000 but maybe now I’ll try a shorter barrel as well!
This is one of the first new cartridges of my lifetime that I'm actually excited about. It reaches out past traditional intermediate cartridge distances while still retaining the ability to do SCHV things (on that note, I'd like to see some 55 grain 6mm ARC handloads compared to 5.56mm M193). I don't own an ARC yet, but I'm getting a bit burned out on 3 Gun so maybe I'll direct my interest towards the ARC next.
Thank you for the great content, I found your channel searching for Ruger PRS content and saw the Barret 300 prc vs. Ruger comparison. I subscribed after watching the video. Now this 6mm Arc of yours inspires me to build a 6mm arc of my own, I have owned the 6.5 grendel and was very happy with the setup. I am glad to see the 6.5 grendel is the parent case to the 6mm arc, as I am already setup to reload for the grendel and have brass I can convert.
Ok, I'm one of the dinosaurs on this channel, (I'm OOOLLLLLLDDDDD! :) but I'd like to make a few observations. My grandfather and father taught me to shoot substantially over half a century ago. One of my first 'serious long guns' was a bolt action 6mm Remington, I still have it, still shoot it. That being said, they both were of the opinion, that when undertaking ANY endeavor, its best to figure out first just what it is that you're trying to do. Imho, you American 'youngsters' (anyone born in/after the 60's) sees that question in a substantially different way than guys like me. Back in my day, America was DEEP into the COLDWAR (and a few 'hot' ones as well.) Accordingly we learned to shoot not only to hunt, punch paper and steel etc., but always with an underlying purpose: that of preparing ourselves for the very strong likelihood of someday going to war. Accordingly, the calibers/rounds that counted, were those that could effectively kill, plain and simple. Now flash forward to the "Call of Duty" and other first person shooter types of today, and the young human male fascination with weapons (which has been with our species since the get go) has evolved into a deep appreciation and desire to master real life military oriented weapons and variations thereof, most notably those based on the AR platform. Some want to simulate the 'up close and personal' actions and abilities of our Special Ops type service guys; some, the more ranged tactics of more traditional infantrymen; and some prefer to simulate the 'Reach out there and Touch someone' tactics of the modern long range, or extreme long range, 'one shot, one kill' type guys. I'm going to GUESS that those following THIS channel (myself included) largely represent that last group ;) Accordingly I'm curious about not just the range capability, but ALSO, the TERMINAL ballistics of the 6mm ARC, Grendel etc. especially compared to 5.6 (which by the way, I declined to deploy during MY time in active service) choosing instead to carry a 12 gauge, .45, and unpacking my 'long gun' for those 'special moments' when it was required. Terrain/cover etc. dictated your choices in the field- not to mention the unreliability and poor performance ,in my mind at least, of the early 16's of those days. Amazingly, I can still report that it appears that my 60 odd year old 6mm Remington can STILL out perform ALL of the current AR 15 capable rounds, as well as stand toe to toe with the larger Creedmore and other similar cartridges excepting only the capability to near instantly send large numbers of successive shots down range. However, for those of the '1 and done' crowd, that matters not so much ;) Instead what matters is that first (and hopefully only ) cold bore shot accuracy, and your chosen caliber's terminal ballistics downrange, not to mention the financial investment necessary to ensure a competent rig. Along that vein, I (and no doubt a ton of others) were pleased to see the fellow who recently turned up at Texas Plinker's 1000 yard invitational shoot with a WWII surplus Mosin Nagant bolt gun in 7.62 X 54 R, and then proceed to outshoot all but one of the other shooters, including the host :) ALL of them firing weapons costing quite literally many thousands of dollars each. Now I happen to have several similar Mosins for which , if I remember correctly, I paid some 50 to 75 dollars each. Again, every now and then , keep reminding yourself, just "what is it you're trying to do?" :) I wish you all well.
Thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and support the channel. Lots more content just like this in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned!
Man it’s been crazy hot and I’ve been traveling a lot for work. I’m still working on content creation but it’ll be another month or so before I can really hit it hard again. Really tough to create content when my phones over heat in the middle of recording a scene haha
The only issue I've ran across was magazine feeding. What magazines are you using? After handloading I had my SD's down in the single digits. It's a great performer. My AR really likes the 87Gr V-Max. CFE 223 has been my most stable powder for 6 ARC. My bolt action loves the heavier stuff. I can't wait until we have better brass options. The Hornady stuff just doesn't cut it. I got 9 reloads out of the last batch before the heads were warping. Get yourself a brass goat to catch your brass, thank me later. Thanks for the content! I always enjoy watching your videos!
First time viewer here. Love the video. I run the 6 ARC in a bolt gun and I love the round. Varget is my go to powder. its a little slower but I have an average SD of 6fps from all my testing, plus the accuracy is unbeatable. I have also found Leverevolution is very accurate for a temp unstable powder. I use this powder to push the heavy 112gr Barnes bullets.
Oh man stay tuned…. Lots of 6arc content coming! Going to take me a while to get it all filmed but I plan to launch a series of videos comparing 6arc to other popular calibers used in the “dmr” space. Hope this is what you’re interested in!
Kenny over at Eagle Eye Shooting did a bunch of work with the 6 ARC when it came out both in the bolt guns and gas guns. A lot of issues came from the SAAMI specs and the head spacing and max pressure causing accuracy issues and it not having anywhere close to the promised velocity. Might be a worthy place to research. A lot is f the early 6 ARC AR barrels were 2+ MOA guns.
The performance is great 👍. 6ARC is a reloaders game right now. I've been watching the store shelves for 9 months and nobody is carrying it for now. When it becomes more common use I'll try it.
I’ve been decently surprised with ammo availability. Seems like the 105 bthp and 108 eldm factory loads have been available any time I’ve gone to look into making an ammo purchase. That said though I fully plan to reload though to open up my options for bullet choice and help drive the cost per round down a bit. I think it’s only a matter of time though until the round catches on and we have more ammo options on the market!
@@MountainsMulletsMerica that has been my experience with ammo availability here in central North Dakota as well. All thee weights have been available for the last four months or so at Scheels.
Ah man a little bit of luck goes a long ways on camera haha. A 20” 6arc will be epic, easily capable of making consistent hits past 1000yds. I’ve ended up liking this upper/ 6arc way more than I imagined I would! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the always extremely detailed, excellent perspective, and awesome firearms. We truly appreciate it. Stay safe and keep enjoying what we all love. Peace.
Really impressed at the accuracy you're getting out of that Faxon barrel considering most consider them a "Budget" brand
Certainly budget priced compared to PRS or other cutting edge related offerings.
@@seanoneil277 2/2 faxons I've bought ended up needing to get sent back due to accuracy issues. ended up going back to tried and true criterion
@@hxdaro Interesting. I've had great luck with them. 2/2 have both been extremely accurate.
Would love to see a video comparing the 6 arc and 6.5 grendel out to distance. Seem to be the most similar options for an AR-15 size rifle.
Agreed 👍. Love the Grendel
I agree my Grendel Faxon barrel is incredible.
6 ARC already wins at that. Its flatter due to the higher BC. 6.5 Grendel can't make use of high BC projos since its at the huge expense of taking any case capacity away.
Same here
Great vid!
I have an 18" faxon 6arc barrel.... its a lazer
Making me want to build out a 6mm ARC AR!
Build an ARC12 mod 0 lmao
Do it, need more youtubers to touch on it to make companies start producing more ammo.
Do it!!
Thank you.

Would definitely love to see a side-by-side comparison between this 14.5 6mm and a similar 5.56 and .308 platform out to distance. Great Vid!
It has become my favorite caliber for Texas hunting. I have four rifles chambered in 6 ARC now. One AR and 3 bolt actions.
Such a great round! I’m running my 18” Brenton 6ARC AR in a hunting match so new content coming soon!
Wow! Truly an do-it-all rifle. I'm very impressed with the peformance with a 14.5"
Exactly what I’m thinking!
It is also a great performer with a barrel as short as 12 inches surprisingly.
This fashionable and knowledgeable gentleman is like the Mr. Rogers of precision shooting… I love it!!! Keep up the awesome work 🙌
Mr Roger’s of precision shooting! Love it! Really appreciate the support.
I've had my 6 ARC for a little bit now. 16 inch barrel with a 2-12 scope and love it. Hammers just about anything the desert SW has to offer.
Athlon scope?
@@joshawalister4657 Swampfox
I’ve been hearing of 6 ARC for awhile, but this is the first I’ve bothered to watch anything concerning it. Needless to say I’m very, very impressed. This little cartridge is doing more than I thought it would.
Cool build dude. This is exactly the build I was considering but decided to use Grendel instead due to availability of cheap steel case.
The cool thing for me is that going to ARC in the future would only require a barrel changes. Same mags and bolts.
Absolutely loved EVERYTHING about this video. You are such a great host man.
Thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch. Lots more content just like this in the works so stay tuned and tell your buddies!
That after dark footage was like shooting at a lighthouse! So cool.
Glad you enjoyed that! I debated on if I should include the nighttime footage or not. Decided to give it a go because it’s not something you see in my YT videos. Lots more content just like this in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned!
A comparison with a Grendel would be excellent. Both are excellent in my opinion having put together one of each.
Sweet setup and good shooting. Looking forward to more 6arc. Thanks for sharing.
Lots more 6arc content coming! Planning to knock out some side by side caliber comparison videos so hope you’ll stay tuned!
@@MountainsMulletsMericaPlease do a video on how the scope magnification settings affect accuracy.
Great video!
6 ARC is what the military should be using.
I’m running a 18” Odin barrel with matching bolt carrier, I’m confident when I get to a 1000 yard range I’ll be there , love the 6 ARC at 500 yards 😎👍
Was just looking for this info... should've known our favorite mullet reads minds :)
Really interested in seeing how your hand loads compare with the factory
I built a 6ARC a few months back. It’s incredible. Especially what it does outbid a small frame AR. I’m running an 18” barrel. Definitely a tack driver out to 1000. No place to test beyond that yet
I’m stuck between a 14.5 or an 18. Smh
Thanks for an educational video 80’s man.
80s man, I love it haha! Thanks for watching!
Thank you
Very impressive, and another great video. I’m still experimenting with my 6arc made by Cobalt Kinetics with an 18” proof carbon barrel. Awesome rifle.
How is that gun? I saw it and am thinking of getting one!
The hills you film in are a beautiful setting. Great videos.
Dude you truly have the best channel name ever!!!
Haha thank you! Took me a while to come up with it but it embodies everything I love!
As always I really appreciate your channel and your evaluation of new weapons. Thanks for sharing and keep your experiences coming!
Mainly shoot my arc at coyotes but do love this round been shooting it for about 2 years once you start hand loading this thing will really improve
I have a Faxon big gunner barrel in 308, been more than happy with the accuracy and weight. Shoots good even when heated up.
I'm super stoked to watch this! I've been waiting for a legit long range shooting channel to showcase this cartridge!!
I switched from 6.5 grendel to 6 arc after shooting 6 arc *one time* and I'll never look back
Interesting.
That 6 arc made you look impressive. You and it are a great combination.
Any chance you could be persuaded to make a video on shooting irons? A demo of where the capabilities/ limitations lie with irons and if/how it's possible to extend those lines, would be awesome. Love the videos!
I will jump in on the 6.5 grendel comparison bandwagon! I have been trying to decide between the two on my next upper build.
Fun vid man. I love that property you get to shoot on! that's a long range shooter's dream come true.
Thanks for stopping by to check out another video! I moved out here a little 5 years ago from the east coast and quickly realized I’ve landed in a long range paradise. Just trying to share a bit of it with the folks watching my content! More content coming so hope you’ll stay tuned.
This was an awesome video. I am very intrigued by 6mm ARC now. Thanks for the great content, as always.
You are an amazing shooter sir if you haven't already would you consider makeing a video on how far you can push the humble 762x39
6ARC AR15 platform all the way over AR10 .
22" 6ARC Gas Gun can get 2700 FPS with 106g TAP. That's more than enough to bang steel at 1k yards
@@SixOFordsmoke is a strong word. What are you running in your AR-10?
Hopefully if the stars align.
Maybe we can see 6.5 grendel..
So far so good.
Great shooting

Thanks TH-cam algorithm for sending me here.
Cant wait to see more content
I would definitely like to see the comparison of the 6mm ARC 14.5 vs a longer barreled 308/556 at distance and how it performs in windy conditions. Pushing the true capabilities of shorter barrels with more aerodynamic bullets at distance is one subject not a lot of other content creators do a good job of explaining.
Good video, very informative. I just got my ARC zeroed. Mine liked the 108 more, in a 16 in barrel. Can’t wait to let them sail out to distance.
Very very impressive with whatever caliber/barrel length let alone a 14.5" barrel.
Built one a year ago, put a 20" barrel on mine, is my goto rifle now.
It’s happening so stay tuned! I actually can’t wait to see how the 2 rounds compare side by side at distance.
I’ve a 6.5 Grendel slinger…that said 6 ARC is tempting!
I'd like to see it next to the 5.56, I like watching long range videos and would like to get into shooting long range which isn't easy where I live.
Bob Ross of precision shooting. Love your content brother.
Excellent shooting and very nice build. It is impressive for building a sub MOA AR-15 in 6ARC
Again, every now and then , keep reminding yourself, just "what is it you're trying to do?"
:)
I wish you all well.
I’m a lover of Grendel 6.5…but the 6ARC has me intrigued!
Wonderful shooting sir, your video’s are truly a great lesson in presentation. Thank you.
Thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and support the channel. Lots more content just like this in the works so hope you’ll stay tuned!
Feels like it’s been a minute since I’ve seen you post. Glad to see you on my feed!!
More please! I've been wanting to pursue a build like this.
Would LOVE to see the 5.56, .308. 6.5 Creedmoor comparison out of AR platforms!
Great opening. Awesome exposure with the sun. You’re killing it dude
When I saw that sunset coming together I new I had to work it into the video somehow haha. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Great video! I’ll be watching for all comparisons you can make with this setup.
Great job and that is a great test out of a 14.5 inch barrel. I'm on th3 fence about barrel length, i am digging the 22 inch seekins precision.
Yes would like to see comparison between 5.56,.308
I noticed you use the Wilcox on multiple rifles, would be awesome to see a video on how you zero your Wilcox Raptar to a new optic!
the scope cam earned you an instant sub bro
Loved your video. I've had really good luck (similar groups) with the Hornady 105g Black factory ammo. Been really impressed with 6MM ARC.
Great shooting! Love your channel. Thanks for all the work putting it all together.
Thank you! Really appreciate you taking the time to watch and support the channel. Lots of fresh content coming so hope you’ll stay tuned!
Out of the hundreds of shooting informative clips i have seen on you tube this was certainly the best🫡
Really cool to hear you enjoyed watching! Lots of fresh content just like this in the works so hope you'll stay tuned to check it out!
You sir, are a helluva shot. Also you just sealed the deal for me. I want a 20” upper
Peace.
