    I’ve told You in the past that I like the way You load. You don’t waste bullets. You don’t waste a lot of time. I like Your systematic approach. Also, I appreciate that there isn’t a bunch of foul language. THANK YOU. I appreciate You!

      Agreed. I been crying over the lack of content on 6mm mongoose for a while now but I guess arc is what people are willing to take mainstream. The 6mm mongoose actually can match velocities by the inch but you can use your 223 bolt and mags. Oh well, the fate of a wild cat

    Thanks for the writeup Johnny - I've been sticking with 105Bergers/W748 and 105Bergers/LeverLoution. Problem right now is brass. I've been making PILES of 6ARC brass from starline, just processed 220 cases yesterday and have another small pile to go. 223 YOUR FIRED!!! - I dumped 223 loading.

    This is some nice content. I've been loading for about 30years, wish I had time to do tests like this. I have a 6DTI upper coming and am having a good time checking out all the similar 6mm AR cartridges. 75grv max and Benchmark is going to be my first try. Really wanted to start off with H4895 but the stuff is not possible to find. I considered the 6mm ARC but the DTI/WOA/6x6.8 has a little higher velocity with the 65 to 85gr bullets that I will be using. Nice shooting BTW

    Speaking of short throats, i have been loading for my new M70 270Win and just the other day checked my seating depths with a Hornady modified case (should have done this from the start). The listed seating depth on all 3 bullets i have tried so far have been longer than my throat’s maximum. I had been testing all my loads just to find out i had been jamming every single one into the lands, some as much as 0.075!! The gun shot decent (not great) and didnt show any signs of overpressure on the cases, even going above max listed loads. Crazy. Just shows that before you EVER load up a single round, CHECK YOUR THROAT! Even factory Fed ‘blue box’ ammo was jamming the lands.

    I enjoyed your video and results. I bought ammo (Hornady Black) because 6mm ARC brass is unavailable. I look forward to seeing how my new 18" CMMG barrel works on my newly constructed AR-based gun. I am going to try Win 748 just because I have a ton of it. I have a bunch of bullets to try from that are from 80 to 95 grains.

    My Hornady brass makes the same smear and sometimes burr in Grendel, way below max loads. The Starline, in comparison, doesn't seem to show ejector marks nearly as easily.

  • @Jet2416-Reloading
    @Jet2416-Reloading 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @Johnny's Reloading Bench - In my reloading 6.5 Grendel using Hornady brass I've had some issues with the cases stretching and showing signs of case head separation within 3 to 4 firings where others in the same lot have made it to 6 or 7 firings with no problems at all. Another TH-camr who goes by Hazzbro has had the same problems. I don't have a way to test it for hardness but it makes me think some of the cases are a lot softer than they should be. I'm wondering if you have had any similar issues with Grendel or 6mm ARC Hornady brass?

  • @darrick1395

    I'm working on a load for my 6arc as well I can't seem to get consistent groups. I feel like my barrel is a bit short to the lands but have only measured with the hornady coal gauge I've tried 223 and lever Rev for powder and I have tried 80 sierra varmiter 90 nosler accubond and 95 nosler bt. Even the 3 factory loads don't group. Thought it was my suppressor at first so I have been running without it. Main question is do you clean between groups or run all those shots without cleaning? Any other advice? Thanks! Keep the videos coming!

    I know this an old video but what others and I have found is ejecter swipes in gas guns are just how this cartridge behaves. Even with lighter loads. Its more a timing issue rather than loads being too hot.

  • @BradV86
    @BradV86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The non-uniform tips will cause slight variations in BCs. While muzzle SD may be quite consistent, down range each bullet will be shedding speed at a slightly different rate. This probably doesn't account for much of your deviation between muzzle SD and 100y SD, but it certainly will have an effect, and becomes more pronounced the further the distance.
