  • ‼️Ever wonder how much the UCL can handle in Newton Meters of Force?🤔⬇️‼️
Objective: Incorporate both flexion and eccentric training for the flexor pronator mass group muscles✅
▫️Did you know? The UCL can fail around 32 Newton meters of force, but high-velocity throwers exceed 90-120 Newton meters! So, why don’t we tear our UCL with every pitch? It's thanks to the flexor pronator mass muscles in our forearms, which act as protective barriers.
▫️It's crucial to balance training both flexion and eccentric load. When we go into that passive ROM in layback, that's an eccentric load! You will see most people focus only on training the forearm through flexion but neglect eccentric loading of those flexor pronator mass group muscles!
▫️Most of the damage that is being occurred is in that eccentric loading phase when the arm hits max layback which is where all of the micro-trauma tears start to happen within our tissue and muscle-tendon units❌ Even applying End-Range ISO-Metric Contraction work with a focus of both flexion and eccentric loading of the arm is 🔑 to help offset some of that stress when throwing⚾️
