@@gingermast4389 OMG. Ginger. Not even 25 minutes after the video was posted and you watched it. You, girl are my #1 fan. If y'all ever come up to Maine y'all are welcome here.
Having a mud room is going to be really nice. You can keep a lot of cold air and wind out of the cabin. And you will have a place to hang coats and put your shoes and boots!!!
My dad was a structural engineer (MIT grad) and my uncle Ray was a Master Carpenter and cabinet maker. They both knew Norm Abram from This Old House. That’s the skill level they had. I used to joke that we used dad’s old blueprints for placemats at our dinner table. I have pictures of me as a kid, with them, on my first house building job in 1968(?). I worked with them for decades. This makes it extremely hard for me to watch videos like this and not critique…which more times than not makes me appear hyper critical and an a$$hole…which I apologize for.
@@alanbierhoff6831 you can say anything you want. Just remember, I'm building this on my own and to have structural engineers draw up plans on a simple mudroom is a huge waste of money. I know span tables and loads. I may not be building to perfection, but I'm sure it will outlast me.
Coming along great.
❤❤❤
Looking real good. Like the trap door idea.
@@MikePollock-js7du thanks. It wasnt my idea.
I love the little "mini deck" for the firewood. Making some tasty lemonade!
@@avlisk lemonade. HA. Southern Sweet Tea. The REAL stuff!!!
Looks great. It will be nice this winter for the firewood and just for coming in and out of the cabin.👍
@@markmichalsky6353 its been a long time coming. Hopefully get it done in a week or so.
Looking good, it's coming together. I like the trap door idea. Can't wait to see it.
@@Backyard_Chickens thanks. Im hoping to get rafters up this week.
I think it looks great. Looking forward next week when the mud room is enclosed. Have a nice weekend.
@@debbieblakie8026 thanks for following along. Lots of rain in the forecast.

Really enjoy your channel. When it rains and you can't do outside building work, what else do you do? Inside work?
@@LarryMullins111 yes. We save the inside work for winter or when it rains. Or I just rest.
Why didn't you just buy longer 2x4 ??
@@davidgurgir the cost was 4 times as much.
