My late husband of 62 years married would have so enjoyed watching these with me. I love the quiet, stillness. No music, though we both loved classical music and the beauty as we both loved art. I do wonder how he organizes his woodpile. It takes about 2 years for hardwood to cure before it can be burned. We have three woodpiles that I re-stack every fall in advance of winter. Greetings from southern Brazil. Hello Martijn. I feel a sense of peace when I see the snowy images with the sun bringing yellow reflections on the mountains. When you opened the bedroom curtains and I glimpsed that view, it was breathtaking. I always imagine what it would be like to be there, with my camera in my hand, capturing every nuance of these beautiful landscapes... and I don't even like the cold. Thanks for sharing. Hugs
Martijn, you need to get some proper snow tires for the Pajero...personally, I would put the top back on the Land Rover for the winter, and use it for hauling the wood, trailering stuff around the cabins in winter..it likely has differential lock, and you would be surprised how much more capable it would be in the snow than the Pajero, even if both of them are 4wd...
Martin you have all that wonderful dry wood and you know it going to keep you warm and cozy, especially in the awesome heater you make. I love the wood shed you made, so neat ! Looking at the snow makes me want a big fire in a fireplace to sit in front of and watch the flames dance.
I look forward to the christmas vlog - his films are just like a massage to the head; so thoughtful and really insightful. Thankyou for your vlog Martijn; always a joy.
Was just reading up on Giotto di Bondone & the "proto-renaissance” in the late 13th & early 14th centuries... my Mum studied world religion and art history (for interest) so our family library had some neat reading. Our visits by phone can get pretty geeky. Thank you for sharing The Golden Age & your dinner with Johannes. Always a pleasure listening to him. Cheers to crisp, cool air & feeling the sun on your face, Martijn ☕ Best wishes from the Yukon
Martijn, Even in distant reaches of altitude and in cold wintery depths it is the intangibles of civilization that gives direction, binds, and motivates high art in your work. We have the pleasure of seeing this result, but it's Johannes who explains by word and presence the uncanny persistence of spirituality, expressed as virtue, that enables.... Thusly, Europe stands on tall shoulders giving us the view we otherwise would never see. Merry Christmas to you and all of your fans!!
Martinj has his birthday ? It makes him a Sagittarian : I am not surprise and I understand his need to always go further. Happy Birthday, Martinj. I really enjoy every one of your videos. I am already waiting for the next one. Thank you ! We have some snow too, here, in Montréal (Québec).
Funny. After your program ended, the words "love, love love!" flew out of my mouth without thinking. Thank you for another great week. Please take care in the snow and ice.
A double layer of shingles is usual in the US, even in the North. Of course, the gaps are always staggered so the moisture runs off the roof or wall. I note, however, that the shingles you are using are quite thin. Therefore, I would go with Fr. Johan's guidance. In the US, cedar, a soft wood, is typically used for shingles.
For an old person a metal handrail that a hand can clasp easily and slide as you descend without getting splinters is great! I want the rail to fit perfectly in my hand for holding tight. Good idea Martijn.

Rubbing alcohol will also clear off the ice, if you had a extension cord you could plug in a hair dryer to dry for a couple of the solar panels
I'm so glad I'm not alone. Thank you again for sharing a small part of your life. Peace be with you always Martijn.😊
❤❤❤happy Sundays to all ❤❤❤
even with the snow you are a productive soul
Martijn, metal for the railing is like clay when heated, mold yourself a master piece around that turn 👍✌️
Martijn,
Even in distant reaches of altitude and
in cold wintery depths it is the intangibles of civilization that
gives direction, binds, and motivates high art in your work.
We have the pleasure of seeing this result, but it's Johannes who
explains by word and presence the uncanny persistence of spirituality, expressed as virtue, that enables....
Admiring the LIGHT which enters through that skylight! Invaluable for the winter in a stone cottage. Great foresight to have that source.
Martijin, c Днём рождения!.. самые искренние пожелания добра
и да, спасибо за Тарковского
Funny. After your program ended, the words "love, love love!" flew out of my mouth without thinking. Thank you for another great week. Please take care in the snow and ice.
Life goes on at a slower pace brilliantly filmed again martijn never fails me 🏴🏴
Of course, there are many problems in the mountains in winter, but what beauty on this top of the world! Martijn, thanks for the great video!😍👍
Having the time to have a little contemplative time every now and then is a good thing, it allows the creative juices to flow, and for you to plan future works. This is a beautiful time of year where you are, I imagine many would wish to be able to experience the same joy.
P.S. I notice the creative boot rack next to the door in the large cabin, very creative ! Enjoy the season.....
Yes , I love solitude . It creates space for that natural creativity.
I loved watching it snow at night. It was. peaceful, and the sunny morning after was beautiful and the air smelled so fresh and clean, I now live where it rarely snows. Wonderful winter memories.
HO! HO! HO! Just look at all that beautiful snow!!❄ God Bless You, Martijn!🙏 Be safe & warm!🔥👍
Imagining being there for Christmas: the snow, the mountains and the horizon: what can be a better combination to reconnect with nature?
Awesome content in the last two WINTER video's, Martijn! You are a BLESSING 👋. Thank you for sharing ❤. Keep safe and warm. Until next week. Keep on keeping on xxx
Johans winter series release, looking forward to it.
Greetings from Russia! We're watching you!
Dear Martijn, your channel is very inspiring! Thank you.
Lieber Martin, dein Kanal ist sehr inspirierend! Vielen Dank.
Martijn, you are our Santa Claus with your red cap and your videos filled with your hard work, your love of art, books, drawings, scenery, and this week...Johannes. Thank you and Happy Christmas to you both.
alguien de Argentina tambien sigue a este tipo? muy zarpado, siempre un churro y mirar sus videos, abrazos
The views are just so beautiful with the snow! So pleasant to watch these videos!
I noticed on the 2nd cabin, the door getting to the outside could make a nice access to a suspended deck, a place U could just sit an enjoy the view😊
Вам нравятся советские фильмы? Я поражена до глубины души. Респект...❤
Настоящее искусство, как фильмы Тарковского, нравится всем… 😊
Watching while having my coffee in the morning……Yeaass
Good morning to scotland ;)
Precisely the same moment Martin poured his coffee I was pouring my own.
Enjoy your coffee ☕ cheers! To both of you, Martijn and you. 🇨🇦
Snow sled is practical for moving wood in winter.
If you go down. The better.
Happy Birthday! Mine was Thursday! You are, in my humble opinion, "the salt of the Earth". God Bless You for being such a shining light. 💜💜💜
Your back up skills with that short-tongued trailer are impressive.
I came here with your first wheelbarrow and firemantal. thank you for getting me up.
Preparing for the hard Winter season...it feels good to stay nice, and cosy inside your country home !...
You can switch automatic translation in subtitles in TH-cam
Dear Martin, l,m never surprised at the superlatives you receive for your videos,we,ve come to expect that, nor do I relish your getting out in the cold and snow to stack firewood. I must say that it doesn’t seem to slow you down at all. Happy Birthday and have a joyous, blessed Christmas.
