    It disturbs me to see those "rich" arrogant kids living comfortably their lives while the 90% of the people suffer. I myself come from a middle-class laotian family but I have had the opportunity to spend my childhood in Thailand and have had many childhood rich friends like the ones on this video. All of my childhood friends had very wealthy parents and we all went to French International private school. However, I left Thailand in 2005 for Canada at the age of 14 and boy, am I happy I left. Seeing this video brings back sour memories, these rich Thai kids (especially from Bangkok) have always looked down on so many people. They think they are the best of their kind. I would always hang out with the rural kids because I always had an affinity with them (coming from Laos, a poor country), they are so kind and humble, unlike the rich ones. I always knew there was going to be an uprising from the poor and middle class since the day I left Thailand and I hope the rich kids get a good slap on their faces and lower their ego.

    We have a King in Norway too. But here, people seem to have a different attitude to royalty. They are loved by the people and some get really obsessed by royal births and weddings and they get a lot of coverage in the glossy magazines. But they are also satirized and mocked, and no-one minds that because they are not gods but just people like everybody else. They are supposed to represent a unifying symbol of our democracy, and hence, they do not participate in party politics and cooperates with any government that has been backed by the parliament. They only became political during WW2 as a unifying symbol of the opposition to the Nazi occupation.

      Prophetchannel is obviously not paying attention, but there is currently a political discussion in Norway regarding removing the monarchs just like we removed christianity as a state religion. We'll spend 27.6 million US dollars in 2014 on people who are nothing but an attraction and a symbol. The royalty of Norway is based on an undemocratic principle even if they don't have any ruling power, and I'll give it 50 years tops before they're gone.

      And the alternative is what?
      Some corrupt piece of shit that got a lot of innocent people killed with is "tough on drugs policy", amnesty international reported that the total deaths in thailand DOUBLED because he threatened the jobs of law enforcement if his newly drafted policies didn't get results. Many of the people who died were extrajudicial killings based on suspicion alone.
      That means a lot of innocent people died because some bureaucrat wanted to keep their job.
      Thaksin abused his political influence to buy land for family members constituting a conflict of interest resulting in a two year sentence for corruption that he bolted from the country to avoid.
      Thaksin brought lawsuits against critical journalists.
      He also attempted changes in policy to directly benefit business owning family members.
      At the very least, these people that are the alternative are no better, but in reality Thaksin is worse, because goofballs like you that have an axe to grind with royalty would rather have idiots like these elected instead.
      Unstable nations need strong leaders, and you simply cannot get that from a populist politician.
      So think about that.

Or are they just there to take money from less deserving blood lines. The fact of the matter is that its antiquated, quit fooling yourself you fucking clown. You can call me ignorant, but I think ignorance is worshiping someone who is no better or more deserving than you. You must be kidding yourself if you think Kings and Queens are what keep the electricity on, and the water flowing in modern societies.

    • @mikhailaleksandrov4239
      @mikhailaleksandrov4239 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nathan Milaszewski A president has to spend half of his term learning how to run a nation efficiently and the other half actually running it efficiently. Monarchs cost much less than their republic counterparts because they do not have to spend a multitude of cash on elections and diplomatic missions. The Prince of Liechtenstein and British Monarch, if anything make money from their monarchy. Democracies are just as archaic, the Athenian democracy was effective until the Athenians decided they could vote for other individuals' stuff. The top ten best countries to live in are monarchies. A hereditary monarchy has a blood connection to the founding of the nation because their family has been around since its beginning. A monarch can represent the people the best because they have no political affiliation. The French President is an agnostic socialist; he could never represent a French conservative catholic well.

    long live our beloved king, 1st constitutional right: let our king drive ferraris and be proud they dont have a red one, while we walk to work and eat scraps to survive
    2: bow down to our great heaven sent king with all obedience or risk imprisonment
    3: we the people should not be given the same rights as our king because our decisions and opinions are not for the good of the people

      His majesty main car bought by Taksin Govt. (cream colored) it's public property, 3 others (Somesource pluss one brown-gold but i use fact in wikipedia) are his private property, i'm not sure some told me that 3 reserved has given by Daimler but 10 millions US give isn't make sense and may take some negative views to the King.

      @PeterP_ 10 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Dude, WTF are you talking about?! First of all, the king DOES NOT USE Ferrari because 1. He is too aged for that, 2. He PREFERS TO WALK AMONG THE PEOPLE when he visits them (it's only recently when he has been ill that he rides in a van), and 3. He DO NOT BUY Ferraris because his majesty USES HIS PERSONAL MONEY TO FUND PROJECTS THAT HELPS THE FARMERS AND THE COMMON PEOPLE. Second of all the king has done MANY MANY things to help the people in the countryside and to improve their living conditions, WAYYYYY more than any Prime Minister did for the people. Lastly, the KING is "UNDER LAW, ABOVE POLITICS", meaning that under the constitution, he has NO POLITICAL POWER and does not wish to have nor excercise it, and he, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER CITIZENS, is abride under the law of Thailand and he can be sentensed under the law. The People of Thailand LOVES the king not just because He's the "king", but it's because he has done SO MUCH for the people and for the country, THAT IS WHY WE, Thai People, LOVE OUR KING, THE FATHER OF THE NATION!!!! Learn about Thailand and its history before making BS comments!

    • @ptokunn
      @ptokunn 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, to fund project to help farmer is public property by Govt, in fact to talk in that way it isn't good to him, we're living in Democracy country if you talk in the way like that the King will struct in Politic and that's bad for our image of our Democracy King who's NO POLITIC POWER .The Royal project maybe thought by him or his team (and pay them by our tax,too in Limited Monarchy regime) but never launch by him we use Govt to launch projects with our tax, Do not use 'Good King Model' in Rama V (Absolute Monarchy) to presume that it's good to Rama IX in 21st century in that time he did good to our country but if u use that model to presume our King do it today, it may take disrespect to our King because of the confusing in our political system.

    There is a question: what if majority of the people decided to choose a bad government? Under all circumstances, it is better to allow the majority of the people to choose a bad government instead of alienating the majority of the population. It is better to go against the crimes of the government instead of thinking the majority of the population is stupid and "we" are smarter than everyone else. There is nothing more dangerous than thinking ["I" or "we" just know better than the majority] in choosing government.

    Nonsense. This is totally absurd. How much would Taksin have to spend for buying at least 15 millions votes? That would be a hell lot money. The "500 baht (~15$) per vote" thing, which the royalist accused the government of, is also ridiculous. I honestly don't think people would risk their lives on the cheap. That money is not enough to make people passionately fight for their rights. And to say they are "too cheap to rightfully vote" is the worst kind of discrimination.
    By the way, isn't it your ROYAL FAMILY that is the richest of all? According to Forbes, King Bhumibol is the longest and the wealthiest royal in the world, estimated to be worth upwards of $30 billion, beating oil-rich Brunei’s Sultan Bolkiah into second place. The richest royal in the country where finding clean water is still hard. Poor Thailand.

    This video confused the hell out of me, can someone explain?
    So the rich kid (that owns the Ferrari) and his friend are pro-king, right? Because his friend said he cried when the king passed him because the king didn't say hi to him. But then why did his friend say "this is why the country fails"? So he doesn't want his government to change... but he thinks the country is failing?... Or, if he's against the government, why does he partake in all the high-class things that government fat cats enjoy like that spa, or expensive cars and clothes? What side of the fence are they on?, anti or pro king?
    Also, how does not allowing anyone to vote in an election promote positive reform? If no vote happens, then the person that they DON'T like stays in power right? And he continues to be controlled by that wealthy guy who was thrown into exile for corruption? Or do they LIKE the person in power? If they liked the person in power, then why are they calling for reform?
    Also, why are they AGAINST allowing people to vote in the elections, but they want to impeach that prime minister lady? They allow democratic policies to function un-hindered, but only when it benefits them? (AKA: We won't let the people vote in an election, but we will try and impeach someone we don't like?) And if they want to impeach the prime minister lady, why the hell did they stop people from voting? That's how you get people out of office, by voting for someone else!
    ALSO, from what I understand, the reason no one's votes matter is because rich people pay enough money for the government to throw votes out, right? (19:28 into the video). So is THAT the pdrc's reasoning behind not allowing anyone to vote? Because it won't matter? How does pissing off the general population help you achieve governmental reform? I understand that if they vote, it won't mean anything; but how does PREVENTING them from voting help either?
    ALSO, (A DIRECT quote from the video): 19:21
    "The PDRC was successfully able to avoid February's elections. Now they are trying to impeach prime minister Ying Luk'Shinuwat (I am 100% sure I spelled that name incorrectly). In the past 8 years, Bangkok's royalist elite have nullified 2 election wins by taxin-backed parties, and toppled 2 taxin-backed prime ministers with the help of establishment courts. That evening, royalist supporters celebrated with a PVC pipe wielding rockstar; but the failed elections only puts Thailand in a more precarious state. It risks massive turn-out of pro-government 'red-shirts' angry that their votes essentially don't mean anything".
    So the PDRC WANTS governmental reform (impeaching the prime minister), but at the same time they DON'T want governmental reform, because they aren't allowing people to vote? Also, the kid in the video is very rich, and is therefore part of the royalist elite, yes? So why is he calling for governmental reform when it's his parents/friends that are paying to nullify/over-turn elections?
    THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN THIS VIDEO

    • @Taambanger101
      @Taambanger101 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Let met get a few things straight though. Thaksin is convicted for dozens of corruption allegations, which is why he never returned. He ousted himself, refusing to go to court. No innocent man should feel threatened if he is innocent. So pretty much the documentary leaves out Thaksin's crime, making it look like a legitimate and elected leader was placed in power. The process is viewed that way, but there are facades to the game such as buying votes and literally changing voting ballot boxes.
      Like any system in the world, there are gaping holes. Democracy as well, is imperfect and therefore it has been used as an excuse for everything the current government is doing. The video doesn't discuss how the current government has a failed rice scheme on their backs with 100s of thousands of farmers left unpaid, many choosing suicide. They don't discuss the attempt to build a redundant dam which will use a significant amount of the government budget. They don't discuss how little has been done, and we managed to hit a government deficit, thus having an incentive to make a loan which will make us owe money to other countries for at least 65 years. It is Thaksin, who is eating up the country, along with some elite royalists who wish to retain power. The majority of the people who protest, either side, are receiving information differently, but those commoners are the ones who are truly fighting for the country.

    • @synphony5159
      @synphony5159 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Terry Khan So... the Democrat Party is backed by the royal family, yes? Isn't the royal family (the king mentioned at the start of the video) already in power? And if Thaksin founded the party to which the king belongs to, then why does everyone view the king as a demi-god when they hate Thaksin? And if they don't want the current ruling party to win, then why did the kid's friend (in the video) say he loves his king so much that he cried when the king walked by?
      I'm just confused as to exactly where these kid's allegiances stand. I may just not have understood the circumstances but it seems like, from the video, that these kids are on... both sides? They WANT governmental reform in one scene, and then in the very next scene they DON'T want governmental reform. Do they SUPPORT the king or do they not support the king? And if they support the king, then why don't they like this Thaksin guy if Thaksin was the person who created the party that the king belongs to?

    • @synphony5159
      @synphony5159 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Terry Khan Oh okay so they love the king, but hate Thaksin. They also believe that Thaksin is using his money to influence the current government.

    The Thai monarchy and its Royalist elite have long held the true power in Thailand, generations upon generations of Thais have grown up being told since their childhood that the king is essentially divine, that he commands special powers, with any actual criticism of the King and his royalists being treated as a violation of the law, punishable by lengthy prison sentences.

I know this because my wife is from rural Thailand, I'm at her families home as we speak, and I can see two posters of the king in the sitting room, yet in their hearts they support the fight for a democracy.

    We fight for the right to drive through Bangkok in a ferrari...you know, looking out for the little guy. Whatever these kids are for I am instantly and automatically against, they represent everything wrong with humanity. Driving a vintage ferrari my dad bought me through a city embroiled in a civil war talking about how you're fighting for the rights of the monied elite to keep playing with toys while the world burns around them.

    In my opinion as a foreigner who lives in the "pro-red shirt" north i think that this Documentary frames these two Thai "royalists" the same way they see themselves. They see themselves as protecting the king but in my opinion they are protecting their own interests. In my job i have traveled all around The northeast part of Thailand and have never met a red shirt who has said anything negative about the monarchy.
    What many in this area are upset about is that the established families of Thailand in Bangkok can debate which luxury car they want to drive that day when the average person is worried if they will be able to afford to fix their scooter. Taksin was so popular because he introduced policies that tried to hep ordinary country people. I think this fight should be shown as a fight between socioeconomic groups and not "pro/anti king" as in Thailand the current king is loved by all.

    I'm Thai. what i'm trying to say is a simple example and can't apply to all people.
    Most yellow shirts are middle class and royalist. Most are from Bangkok and southern provinces. You can say that they support Democrat party. (the opposition) the PDRC
    Most red shirts are poor people from north and northeast. they support the government. I don't think most of them are anti-monarchy, but there are some people.
    Just fuck it. i'm tired of this shit. i'm trying to writing this thing.
    but just fuck it, third world problem, it's long you don't want to read it neither.

    UPDATE: 7 years have passed. the PDRC had won its ultimate goal of initiating a coup where its leader--Prayut Chan-o-cha--and the military junta ruled Thailand until 2019 where the general election was held under military backed constitution which, to no one's surprises, brought them back to power.
    the king they were trying to protect has since passed and was succeeded by the less popular current king. together with awful mismanagement of the economy and the COVID19, the youth-led popular uprising has now swung back to the anti-establishment camp, where the government has ramped up its crackdown through use of the draconian lese majese laws and increasingly violent protest crackdowns.
    under this backdrop, Nat has defected from the royalist camp to the current anti-establishment camp and has since been on the streets with the protestors. unfortunately, today, he is reported to having been hit with rubber bullet which could possibly blind him.
    a really ironic turn for the still unfolding events.

    I don't understand what is going on. Who's side are the cops on? Who's side are the military on? What are which side fighting for if the government is already gone but they still have buildings? What is what and who is who? Are guns legal? How often is lethal force used? how often do unarmed people die? What are those necklaces?

      It's a story as old as time; they're on the side of the people WHO ARE PAYING THEM. The side of the people who are feeding, clothing, and sheltering them
      As long as 1% of the world's population controls 99% of the world's wealth, none of us will ever be free.

      Precisely...this was a very badly made report with an agenda trying to potray the yellows as some rich spoilt Bangkok kids! But that couldn't be further from the truth
      At the heart of the problem is political representation and power. Thaksin draws his power from the heavily populated but poorer Thai heartland. The yellows draw their power from the southern region with less than 20% of the Thai population. The Thai heartland does not vote for Thaksin as much as it does for his cronies! Thaksin's PTP party is now made up of some 10 smaller parties that have local loyalties, thus marginalizing the only remaining opposition voice - the democrats! In the first election when Thaksin's party garnered 27% of the votes, the democrats garnered 21%....the remainder small regional parties with clan politics were bought over and promised ministry seats!
      With almost 70-80% of their votes now in his favor, Thaksin was quickly becoming a dictator, threatening any and everyone that spoke out against him! Lawyers and journalists opposed to him disappeared, TV stations gagged and brought under the state! You get the picture...Thailand was soon headed in the direction of Red China had these brave souls not come out

      If I were to put it down in one sentence: these protests were against dictatorship! With only a tiny opposition left in parliament, you can imagine what's been happening over the past 12 years!

      Guns can be purchased with a license, about as easy to get as in parts of America. Everybody is on the side of the King. The two sides have different ideas about what happens after.

      Yeah that's half of Thailand's problem, it is all background dealing. You are asking the questions that every one is asking. You have to understand that the Coup last year wiped out all of those protests and soldiers are now patrolling every where and the OM is spouting anti-farang sentiment take that how you will.
