  • Please see the User Guide before attempting the update:
    granitedevices...
    Especially, the section "Steps to verify before starting".
    No hardware changes. Manual STM32 Bootloader Driver update is also shown, but it is not always required.

      Is it worth updating it? I still use MMos and Firmware from about 2017. I am not sure if there will be any benefits? You know the never touch a running system rule.

      @@PrepaidKreditkarte81 i wouldnt do it if its not needed, MMos has lower latency and ever since i switched to simucube i have te recalibrate my wheel every few days. not a big deal but MMos always worked flawless.
      I had to make the switch as i had issue's with the wheel which later turned out to be something hardware related.

      @@PrepaidKreditkarte81 Exactly the question I was thinking to ask :) thanks. So MMOS it is for me then haha. Thanks Jeoren for the reply. Considering if an encoder upgrade would be worth it now

    Almost had a heart attack when SimuCUBE config tool reported error when it was updating firmware. :D
    I did get the error several times but after rebooting SimuCUBE few times the firmware update was successful.

    Hi!
    Can't find the STM32 Bootloader in Device manager, so I skipped that step with the upgrade firmware thing. Now while in Simucube it can't see the "simucube in firmware upgrade mode", and the wheel is now dead until I get this fixed. :/
    I can see it in the "devices" menu in settings, but can't do anything with it there.
    How should I find the STM32 Bootloader and upgrade the firmware?

    • @Celciusify
      @Celciusify 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I solved it. Went and fiddled inside Devices and printers. Somehow the solution was to disconnect the STM32 here. Then the "Simucube in firmware upgrade mode" appeared.

    Excuse me sir. This means you can use Simucube software with a simple discovery board?
    And... so, can I use an AASD servomotor with a Biss-C encoder?
    Thank you a LOT for the help

    Can you or anyone comment on the firmware as to how good it is or how diffrent it feels? Thanks for the upload, wasnt looking forward to doing it till i saw this vid.

    I have gone through this. I didn't see an error with stm bootloader so believe this to be ok. I got as far as restarting the simucube software but the wheel is still not connecting. Can anyone help?

    You mention the e-stop to be released. Is it recommended or mandatory that it is pressed before the firmware installation? I don't see it mentioned in the guide

    • @mtakala82
      @mtakala82  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When doing the update from mmos, the e-stop position is pretty much irrelevant. I don't see any case where it would matter.

    "Due to hardware differences, SimuCUBE firmware is only supported on SimuCUBE builds and will not work on builds based on IoniCUBE or ARGON." OK so now I have a problem.... I've already gone through the process to change to Simucube, everything was fine but I keep getting an error saying the the firmware is didnt load properly. But on the advanced tab it says it's using the latest version...?

    • @mtakala82
      @mtakala82  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      What does it say in the top part of the window? Status? And what is the indicated hardware version on the Advanced tab?

    @mtakala82 I currently own a sw20 from Simplicity and i want to make to jump from using MMOS to SimuCUBE, but I run to problems in the very beginning of this tutorial when trying to put MMOS to DFU mode and goin to Device Manager and locate the STM32 BOOTLOADER, which is not there for some reason? Also in the DfuSe there obviously isn't anything showing. How should I proceed and are there some parts I should be skipping over? Kiitos avusta!

    • @mtakala82
      @mtakala82  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please use our community forum, so it will be easier to keep track of support cases. However, can you detect anything changing in the Device Manager when you click the DFU mode button in MMOS? Does disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable do anything?

    • @leshkraven

    • @brookefore4618
      @brookefore4618 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m having the exact problem. Does anyone have the answer to this? No STM32 Bootloader in device manager. Also even prior to that, when i set MMOS to DFU mode, it actually enables an available device in DfuSe Demo. Opposite of what the video shows. That’s as far as I can get.

    • @petteri85
      @petteri85 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brooke Fore what resolved my issue was closing the MMOS window/app after putting it to DFU mode. Hope this will help you too! :)

    Do you use stm32f407 card ?

    • @mtakala82
      @mtakala82  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, Simucube firmware only works on the Simucube card. It does have a STM32F407VE microcontroller, though.
