Awesome to do business with!!! I had my blower and carburetor already so Mr. Berry sold me everything else I needed to complete the package. I received the pieces yesterday and got started with assembling it today. Mr. Berry created this kit to be a clean bolt-on setup and that is exactly what it is, clean and neat! If you have a basic tool kit and you can do your own valve adjustments, tune-ups and oil changes,,,, you can install this kit!!!
Have to at least take the fan shroud off and if you have the old style bend a 10mm wrench and take the 2 nuts off but be careful not to drop them and if you have the new doghouse style bend a 13mm wrench. Its tricky some but yes it can be done
Hello, I just put in a rebuilt 1600 dp engine and I'd love more power. My question is what risks does this setup pose to the longevity of the engine. also I will be running it on a daily basis in Las Vegas Nevada would this hold up to the heat? Don't know alot about superchargers in general so thanks for the information.
I have a few in California that drive weekly but idk about Nevada. I know heat is the killer on these little blowers. I've had a few issues when your on the highway for several hours on super hot days. Thank you for your interest
Great video, what about Timing? Do you just leave at normal I’ve heard you need to lock out so doesn’t go above 28 degrees full throttle. You never mentioned anything about timing. Thanks
I don't like to lock out the ignition advance. It causes a sluggish responsive engine. I like to start at 28 degrees toatal advance and work down from there. Like if your getting spark knock them drop to 27 or 26. Thank you
No I do not. On cars that I don't care to save the Intake I cut the passenger side heat tube on the intake center section and then its much easier to remove parts
Unfortunately not. Your engine has to much displacement for this blower. If you really want a boosted engine you may want to look into a turbo. Thank you for your interest

Stick 1600 the boost rages from 4 psi to 10 psi. All comes down to the engine and yes I have overdrive pulley but for stock engines I don't suggest it. To ke that's to much boost
@@leeberry584 I have a stock 1600 dp with bolt ons ( header, dune buggy type duals, 1.25 rockers, dual 36mm Dellortos, Pertronix electronic ignition conversion ). I hope to see at least 5 or 6 psi with the stock pulley. Engine is an unknown but I’ll do a compression test before moving forward.
The 120 cam is ok but a little much for the blower. And a 1914 would need a overdrive pulley to be able to have some boost. It will have some improvement but not as much as like a 1835 or smaller. I have a few people with 1914 and they seem happy but it all comes back to each individual

Good demo have some questions about these kits: Does the kit carb have a vacuum port for SVDA distrubutors? (part-throttle vacuum signal) What fuel pressure does that carb need? Any plans to ship carbs jetted (ballpark) for the customer’s motor? Is the accel pump adjustment accessible once it’s mounted? Are there different pulley sizes for different boost levels? Max boost? Any before/after dyno or track times? Thanks!!
The carburator may be modified for vacume advance. 2psi it what the pump runs and what the carburator uses and we can help with jetting but we ship with all stock size jets
I like 8.1. Gives a good throttle response and is good for boost. Any less you get sluggish response and any more you get spark knock issues. Thank you for your interest
Where's the additional work of removing the pistons and machining 3mm from the crown to lower the comp ratio? Will also need an intercooler to lower intake temps. Just bolting this charger on like this will result in a very hot running engine which will be prone to head gasket failure..
If your wanting to lower the mechanical compression i recommend copper head shims or add lower jug shims cause cutting the pistons will change all the weights and also may make them weaker under hard boost and a intercooler is more for a blow threw system than a draw threw. I have done both systems up to 23 psi with nos and have no issues when I kept the mechanical compression at 8.1
I'm not going to argue with you, there are 8.5K members on a Facebook group called AMR 500 Superchargers that would love to hear you tell them that they are doing it all wrong!!!
@@robertbuckles3596 They're not completely wrong it's just that with a lower comp ratio and an intercooler the engine would benefit from a cooler & denser intake charge, would produce more power and would have improved reliability. You provide a cheap kit for those on a budget, I'm not knocking that it's just there are better ways of doing it albeit at additional expense..

Where do you connect the hose from that supercharger bracket on the block?
The brass fitting? To any breather kit or you can put a plug in if you do. Ot want to use it

Baja you have more options available. You could use the downdraft or sidedraft and on downdraft you have more carburator options

Do not need a large cam. But a 110 with 041 heads are good and you really don't need performance rockers

Main jets on a stock engine is anywhere from 130 to 150 and pump jets are 30 to 60 ans I use stock ilde jets

What would you suggest for a 1914cc that is currently running a dual twin 40 dell'orto with a 120cam? It apparently has 110/120hp.

Draxindustries1 apparently has not been following the hundreds of successful blower installs and setups on VW engines. So sad,,, so sad indeed
