The changeable joysticks can end stick drift but you have to buy new ones. If you play alot its worth it. I think it will save you money over the years vs buying many controllers but if you play once a week its not. The one negative I hear about the Edge is the battery is worse than the regular controller, keep your charging cable nearby when you stream just in case.
I appreciate you bought this and made a video giving your thoughts about so people can see if it’s worth buying rather than just buying it after reading some of the stuff you’re supposed to be able to do with it as sometimes certain things aren’t mentioned in descriptions of certain products and sometimes those things should be brought up prior to buying something. For someone like the Professional, this controller can be pretty helpful in GTA because he can program one of the back buttons to the X button so that you can sprint and look around at the same time which is somewhat difficult with a normal controller
This is a great first impressions video man! I think it’s a little difficult to accurately judge if a controller is worth it by watching a review of it the day it was unboxed, but, credit where it’s due, you bought it yourself and were critical of certain aspects of it out of the box which I respect. Long term life span matters, especially because of how expensive it already is. The build quality may seem great early on for example, but sometimes parts wear out in a month, battery life can drain significantly within that time frame as well. The fact that the battery life is only 4-5 hours already is pretty bad considering the Xbox counterpart controller gets up to 40 hours per charge, so I can’t imagine how much worse it will be when the battery degrades over time. Also, sure you can always buy new replacement parts, but that shouldn’t have to happen with early usage (approx. first few months). Also I think they should have focused on mitigating short term stick drift rather than letting you pay to swap them out. Sure it’s $20, but a quick 11 minute tutorial repair video on TH-cam could save you that amount, especially if drift happens every 4 months saving you about $60 a year. Seems like a band-aid solution imo.
Can’t wait for those to be affected by stick drift after only a few months of use too! Dualsense is poorly built, 2 of mine are already dead because of this flaw
$200 is too much for a controller for me. This is geared more for Professional gamers (like Pro) and the E-Sports competitive crowd. A casual player like myself will do just fine with the regular Dual Sense controller.
You are so right about stick drift. When I bought my PS5 brand new my controller started having minor stick drift 3 DAYS after using it. I was able to play for 2 months with it before I could no longer use it. I sent it to Sony under warranty to their repair center and it was fixed and returned to me. After 3 months after repair it started having severe stick drift and was unplayable. This time around Sony wasnt helpful at all even still under warranty did nothing so I went out and bought a new dual sense controller. I do not use my controller roughly and I handle it with care. I also only play GTA 5 Online and Tekken 7 games so it doesnt get too much use these controllers are just poorly constructed.
I fix controllers with stick drift issues. It is not difficult at all. Just fixed an Elite 1 that was so bad the left stick was almost falling off. It had 24% error rate on rotation. Now it works so well it is my primary controller.

Can't wait for a deep dive into this, I've been hearing and watching a lot of reviews saying the battery life is terrible, I don't think they should ship such an inferior product when compared to competitors, but I unfortunately will end up buying it due to lack of options in my country
Stick drift happens when dust gets inside of the controller sticks the stick sensor thingy mistakes the dust for slight movement once enough dust builds up in there. You can clean the stick drify if you know how to by just cleaning the sticks and removing the dust.
@0:30 You could always swap sticks and pads out but it was more involved. You pretty much have to swap components for years to come in order to make up for the price difference. @16:51 It doesn't happen with hall effect sticks like those on the Sega Dreamcast controllers AFAIK. Being mechanical isn't necessarily the problem. @19:51 You pay for the convenience twice. Normally those sticks aren't that expensive but if you make them modular it is is a different story. @20:03 You can but you have to unscrew a lot of components first, desolder and solder it. They could use hall effect sticks instead which last pretty much for the live of the console but I assume it is more profitable to use cheap sticks and sell the easy fix as a feature. 🤷♂
In Canada AAA PS5 games are $90. You can buy 2 games, possibly 3 if there's a sale, worst-case scenario you still have $20 to spare on dinner for the night. Much better than paying $200 for 1 controller, where breaking is inevitable.
the xbox ones get drift too after a while, i buy warranties on all my controllers and exchange them as soon as i get any drift. saved me a lot of money if not i would have way too many controllers
48:14 A company called Gulikit is going to produce electro magnetic replacement stick modules. I'd bet there's going to be a ton of aftermarket parts for this controller.
Battery is really important especially for a 200 dollar controller wish the battery was better but I do like the fact that you can change the sticks so you can just replace it. I’ve been collecting controllers so who knows maybe I’ll get it another time.
My original ps5 controller lasted me about 8 months. Im on my 2nd controller now. & as soon as I saw this controller I knew It would be a good investment. Feels a little unfair to charge so much when most of us will primarily need it because of Sony defective controllers in the first place.
I've had stick drift screw me over one time. I was running across a bridge in Dark Souls 2 and all of a sudden my character goes left right off a bridge.
I feel like you could benefit from a tripod or something to hold your camera for you. Still a great vid though 👍 Also, I didn't even know what stick drift was, I had heard of it but I thought it was when the stick gets stuck in a certain direction. Now I know, and I think that my controller has some stick drift. I'll be scrolling through TH-cam on my playstation and I'll be scrolling through videos and then after scrolling left or something it'll go in the opposite direction. Now I know, thanks Pro! 👍
I actually use a $15 wired Xbox controller and I’ve had it for 2 years now and no problems. It’s been the best controller I’ve ever used, no stick drift, no buttons not working right, no having to change or recharge batteries cuz it’s wired. I’ve gone through 3 regular ps4 and 1 ps5 controller and they’ve all lasted only like 6 months to a year at most. It’s weird how a wired Xbox controller has lasted way longer and its way cheaper and it’s overall been the best for me and it works on PlayStation.
Bro, as a serious six siege player this is something I really want to get. Of course with directional sound, a headset (or a sound bar) is absolutely crucial. I got the pc300x and must say it is amazing.
Stick drift isn't bad for me but I swear I've gone through a half dozen PS4 controllers and the left stick always gets crunched in. My PS5 controller is doing this now. Replaceable sticks would be nice. As long as the STICKS are affordable.
Does the custom mapping allow for combo buttons like L2 + triangle? Also, have really enjoyed your vids for some time and appreciate the time you take and the no nonsense, straightforwardness of them. Keep doing what you do, Proff 👍

Never had that issue with the PS2 controlers. BTW U can sell the old ones and still get some money back, there are guys that repair and sale those controlers, just dont forget to mention that there have stick drift. U could get about 40-60 Euros for them here in germoney at least.
The battery life is what gets me. 4 hours for a $200 controller is ridiculous. Xbox Elite Controller is slightly cheaper and has a 40+ hour battery life.
For me a downside is that, the macro they have it on ps4 by default but on the ps5 they locked it on the edge exclusive, its kinda p2w if u know what ur doing with ur control binds

Honestly I think this price is absolutely insane for a controller that is "fixing" the issue of a stick drift by allowing the users to remove the sticks without soldering. The ps4 made me absolutely disappointed in console gaming, so disappointed in fact, I build an absolute beast of a pc and I never looked back and got myself a hot swap keyboard for...a whopping US$80. It allows me to swap out the switches on the fly without soldering (I do know how to solder electronics, I'm a veteran console gamer lol) but jokes aside this controller to me is a scam and a joke. And whenever a console fan boy (usually a PlayStation fanboy) says that the drift is NOT that big of an issue, just makes me mad. My second PS5 controller has started drifting on me and YES it's from a new series where they have "fixed" the issue (no, they haven't) Later I might just get a whole bag of sticks for my ps5 controller to solder the faulty sticks. It's also funny how the controller has started drifting right as the warranty period has run out.
you should check out the wolverine V1 by razer, (for xbox) it’s pretty much like the elite but i think they’re high quality. comes with different joysticks and they’re magnetic. oh and a bunch of paddle buttons too but they’re not in your way it’s a real nice comfortable controller. the face buttons are typical buttons like from regular ps or xbox controllers, when you try pressing like A or X button, it’ll click like if you’re using a mouse and it sounds so satisfying
Same, for me in the UK this controller costs £209.99 GBP. £209.99 GBP is equivalent to $260.31 USD. While not as bad as your prices, it is still worse than the US prices.

What really happens is that inside the joystick there is some metal clamps inside those little clamps there is some type of circle And for some reason the little metal thing inside starts rubbing with the clamp And it starts to rob out the circle inside the clam And that's when you start getting stick drift

The pain in the experience… Sony knows not everyone has the knowledge nor tools to do this the more involved way and engineered this.

The paddles are actually labeled RB and LB but you can swap them and turn them sideways. Way better than smaller ones imo.
Paddles (back buttons) are great for games that have you take your thumb of the left stick. Usually gun games like fortnite and cod

The 4 Back buttons on the Xbox are just the 4 that come in the case you would just have to usually put them on when you get it.

my xbox 360 controller has lasted since i got the console in like 2010. i definitely think xbox is better for controllers

If I remember I’m pretty sure Saga fixed stick drifted a while back, but other companies didn’t implement it

The back buttons would give you an unfair advantage against other ‘stroke the rabbit’ players
The adjustable triggers give a big advantage in call of duty. If u set it to the shortest trigger u can actually fire your weapon quicker

Honestly I think this price is absolutely insane for a controller that is "fixing" the issue of a stick drift by allowing the users to remove the sticks without soldering. The ps4 made me absolutely disappointed in console gaming, so disappointed in fact, I build an absolute beast of a pc and I never looked back and got myself a hot swap keyboard for...a whopping US$80. It allows me to swap out the switches on the fly without soldering (I do know how to solder electronics, I'm a veteran console gamer lol) but jokes aside this controller to me is a scam and a joke. And whenever a console fan boy (usually a PlayStation fanboy) says that the drift is NOT that big of an issue, just makes me mad. My second PS5 controller has started drifting on me and YES it's from a new series where they have "fixed" the issue (no, they haven't) Later I might just get a whole bag of sticks for my ps5 controller to solder the faulty sticks. It's also funny how the controller has started drifting right as the warranty period has run out.
you should check out the wolverine V1 by razer, (for xbox) it’s pretty much like the elite but i think they’re high quality. comes with different joysticks and they’re magnetic. oh and a bunch of paddle buttons too but they’re not in your way it’s a real nice comfortable controller. the face buttons are typical buttons like from regular ps or xbox controllers, when you try pressing like A or X button, it’ll click like if you’re using a mouse and it sounds so satisfying
You should test it in gta online . Especially with heavy sniper and marksman rifle

What really happens is that inside the joystick there is some metal clamps inside those little clamps there is some type of circle And for some reason the little metal thing inside starts rubbing with the clamp And it starts to rob out the circle inside the clam And that's when you start getting stick drift
