As a former nyc mouse turned country mouse, I love your house!!!! My fave is that library 😍 i told my husband i need my own library room, he says i need less books HA!! You need a little chaise lounge or reading knook in there to finish the look. Amazing kitchen! Overall fabulous house! Update us when you are done with thr decorating!! Blessings!!
Especially when you need to put stuff up there to store that might not fit up stairways. W have an old 1880s house. Lots of storage-kinda wonky angles to get around to put into storage
Thank you for sharing your new home. I love your house. Think of what you can do with that attic once you get your stairs in. Your home feels like home. Many Blessings!
You have a beautiful house! In regards to your attic, we have friends who built a one story house with an attic. They have a "stairway" in their back entry/ laundry room. It is a fold up stair way that pulls down from the ceiling. It is not flimsy and it saves space from permanent stairs. That may be a non invasive way you could access that space. I enjoyed the tour. Blessings on your home!
Absolutely awesome Victoria!! Small footprint, less demo and rebuild. How about a spiral staircase? And as far as being a clothes horse, we are country women. We dont judge our value by our wardrobe. Family is where our value lays. You are doing a great job with your family.
Thank you so much!! I have a video coming soon on the build process, it was really simple (we modified IKEA shelves and painted them) and I think a lot of people will enjoy it!
Let me start by saying that I have been obsessing over your house since I found it. I love your channel. I’ve been patiently waiting until we were able to build and I believe that time is finally coming very soon. I took note of the change you suggested with the stairs, but are there any other things you wish you would have done differently after living in it a while? I am so close to ordering the plans but wondered if you had any thoughts.
Oh man I so glad I found your site randomly on a youtube search. House plans have been my life that last fee weeks and I try to find some that would be fit on a homestead site. BTW that pantry is a bedroom not a pantry, lolol
Too bad about your stair decision. I think you are also missing a 3rd (1/2 or 3/4) bath for guests. Otherwise very nice floor plan! Happy for you. Danya
Yes, the plan had stairs, we just thought “eh we will wait” 😭😭 And the bathroom is in the hall as a shared bath for the 2 bedrooms. We have guests rarely and didn’t want to extra cost of an additional bathroom, but it could have been added easily if needed! That’s one of the great things about HHP, they will do changes for you at the same cost per sqft, so you can get exactly what you want/need 🙌
I live in Texas, so we have about 10-20 days below freezing each year and that’s it! It does get hotter cold with the wind chill sometimes. When we moved into this house it was about 20F and the inside of the house (without heat) was about 50!

Build outside attic access less of a headache than tearing your house apart.

It’s great Victoria! So excited for you. I know you’ve been dreaming about this for so long.
Thank you so much!
Your attic alone is bigger than my whole house! lol
Beautiful home, love the library....... and that kitchen! My oh my!

I could live in that pantry! Or the attic!! Love it! Fun tour. And my vote is for a garden in the front AND the back! 😂
Right? So many amazing spaces! I think we are going for the front for now, with chickens running in the back (and space for a pool eventually)

I absolutely LOVE the wall color in the kitchen/ding area! Is the color Italian Sage or Lamb's Ear? Thank you for the tour! Love your house! Enjoy!
That comment about tools being everywhere is so true! It drives me crazy haha You have a lovely home!
Haha, thank you! Yes, the struggle is real. But I hold on to hope that it will all be cleaned up eventually... sigh. I probably hope in vain, lol!
Love!

You're so sweet! Thank you!
I just watched this. Love your place. What is your etsy link??
I live in the UK and it gets very cold in the winter
Nice
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!
What shade of green is the paint on your walls?
Thank you so much! It's Jade by Valspar and the dark green on the island and library shelving is called Boughs of Pine by Valspar!
I think we are going to try building off your house plans.... After all this time, what would you change?
I would make the living room a bit bigger (could be done by making the master slightly smaller) but that’s it. Looooove this house!
Too bad about your stair decision.

Beautiful home.. I don't know what state you live in but...If you have a basement then I would not put anything in the attic it a HOT & Cold place ..
what is the dark green paint color on you Study shelving and kitchen island?
Isn't that lovely? It's Boughs of Pine by Valspar
What about the shade on the walls? Love it.
How much did this cost to build?

Oh, but yes we do have heat, it just wasn’t on when we moved in.
