Wow!! What a beautiful layout. We bought 5.25 acres last year and are working toward a full homestead. Seeing your property gives me lots of ideas. Cheers!!
New subscriber! Planning on purchasing 20 acre property to homestead…first generation farmer senior citizen. Your farm is beautiful and wonderfully laid out. I look forward to seeing more vids thank you! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow, this is a picture perfect property. An actual old farm house on a nice flat piece of land with a barn and out buildings. Not too big, not too small. So nice
Beautiful tour of your homestead!! We also live on a 5 acre homestead and this was very helpful to help me brainstorm on what is possible on our homestead. Love the drone footage as it helped to visualize it better. 🙌🏻
Awesome homestead Beth! Thanks for the tour. Our family is in the process buying land- this video gave me hope! Im dying to have a dairy and meat cow, raise our own poultry & pork. Your house is absolutely gorgeous. I love the old farmhouse. God bless your family!
Im an old ugly disabled guy chucking all this having bought 1/2 acre year ago, North. (Selling my house in January). Got it cleared brought electric in; culvert and will build a proper green house Spring to live in until the shop is built then a house ... I dont care if im living in a tent come March, I will start beds. The winds are changing self-reliance the rule more than ever.
Hello, another Michigan home bound grower here also. My husband and I bought our farm just outside of our town we were living in June 2020. We have been working our butts off making this farm our own. 3 years here and so much more to get done. We have milking Alpine Dairy Goat's, sheep, gardens, orchard, meat chickens, laying flock. I make goat milk beauty products, we do raw herd shares, we are in the lower south east area. We have put up a small barn, we were full wooded when we bought our property. I just love your lay out and so happy your video showed up on my feed. From one TH-camr to another. Till next time God Bless
Oh my, girl I have missed you. I haven't seen a video of yours in years. I feel like you just had or were pregnant with your fourth back then. You had one of the first large gardens I saw here. It was lovely just like your current garden and I was hooked on gardening. I still don't garden much lol. I just enjoy the eye candy. I'm so glad your video popped up for me. Everything looks beautiful.
Here’s my tour from June. JUNE GARDEN TOUR! Michigan homestead, Zone 5, Big family garden th-cam.com/video/f_cqXxh-woM/w-d-xo.html I’ll have another one soon!
Thanks a ton. Excellent job 🎉. This was among one the best verbal tour so far. You broke down each section wonderfully…while explaining and sharing future plans without loosing focus on staying on track. I just came across your video. I’m so glad I did. Great layout. Pammie from Chicago Illinois
Wow I LOVE your homestead! It's laid out so well so that you use every inch. Your processing room was a stroke of genius, I know you must use it a lot. You needed the huge house on it for all those children! I'm betting your place was once headquarters for a much larger farm. I was raised in Michigan mostly in Lapeer County and lived in that area until I was 29. That was 1981 and I had just graduated from Mott Community College Nursing program as an RN. We m9ved to Texas then as my then husband had lost his factory job and was paid a lump sum as they never expected to hire him back. We moved to Texas because I could work as a graduate nurse there and we needed an income as we had a daughter. I'm a Texan now and love the state though I miss having a garden due to long, dry summers and millions of grasshoppers. The only way to have a garden here just about is a greenhouse. I wish you all of God's blessing on your project and much success!
This is just amazing. Thanks for sharing your Homestead with us, really helped me wrap my head around what is cable with 5acres... really helps our decision making process as we are trying to get out of the city. God bless!
We have just decided we are going to move to Michigan for our homestead upgrade. We have a small place in an expensive state and are ready to swap it for more acreage since we have outgrown our current spot. Looking forward to watching this video on your lay out. We have been homesteading on a little under an acre and would feel spoiled for space with 5 acres😊
@@intentionalhomesteadingmiThanks great! We are looking at the UP. How are the summers in Michigan? It never really gets warm where we live now, we would enjoy a little more summer warmth 😊
The wood chips strip the soil of nitrogen. You might want to add blood meal to the plants every few weeks and water in. It will make a huge difference in your health of your plants. You have a beautiful place.
that is only true if you mix them into the soil. If they are left On Top of the soil, they decompose nicely, creating soil. It takes time and patience, but our garden area was 100% sand, and this is how we are creating topsoil
It is nice to find another Homesteader & TH-cam creator. I saw you on your guest appearance on Bri from Scratch. Isn't she the greatest. I've followed her for years through many of her struggles. Life can take it's toll on us at times. I'm so glad to she how she has grown stronger through the storms of life. My prayers 🙏 are for God to continue to produce excellent fruit in her spirit as she walks with Him in the gardens & seasons of life. I look forward to getting to know you & your family better now that we are acquainted. See you in your next video. Blessings abundant to you & yours.
Love seeing your homestead tour! I just found your channel and am so excited to stay connected! It’s beautiful and you’re giving me so many ideas! Thank you for sharing this!
We are also in mid-Michigan! We *only* have 6 kiddos though. 🤪 I came over from Bri’s channel and am binging on your channel lol. Thanks for sharing! I’d love to see a farmhouse tour!
Beautiful farm and farmhouse! I especially like the processing room. We have a dairy herd and only my kitchen to process the milk. Would like to see what you have done with the barn. We have ugly but useful metal outbuildings, but just a shed for the goats.
So happy to find you all. Southwest Michigan gal here and I love seeing this so close to home. Its my dream property! Thanks for sharing. If you ever need a volunteer farm hand please let me know! :)

Hi Beth, I think this is my first visit to your sight. I'm grin West Michigan, grew up in Holland but now am an hour north. Only half an hour or so from Lake Michigan. LOVE your homestead!!! I'd love to see your cold storage as well, but I do thank you for this lovely tour. Do you use the woodchips only for your walkways, or mix them into your plant areas as well? Thanks so much, Nancy
11:05 400!!! Does your family use all those? You also raise pigs and other meat? My goodness, how do you eat all that meat? That is more than one whole chicken a day. I am actually really interested to know what a week’s worth of meal planning looks like for you guys, maybe I am vastly underestimating how much food we need to supply for our family of 8. Hello Duyan,
It sounds like you may be from the UK? I've been there a couple to me so I enjoy meeting people from there who are also like-minded😊
What I like about your video is you actually show what you’re talking about. Really makes it way more interesting. 👍
Glad you enjoy it!
A little 6inch by 12inch board in rabbit cage would help rabbits from sore feet.
What an amazing dream home 🥰😍 I wish I had done something like this in my youth
It looks like the rabbit hutch is wire placed right upon the grass, which would substantially soften it.

Thank you for a tour! It looks perfect

I knew I was gonna like this channel ..& then u referenced the Zimmerman channel, whom I just love. I aubscribed to ur channel immediately.

Usually 100 chickens, 3-4 pigs, 1-2 deer, and ideally a steer is good for us for a year

Yes!
great tour, seems more like 10 acres. So your gonna harvest rabbit? to eat? Arent there "bigger" meat bunnys ?
what about security?
