I (26F) have been engaged to my fiancé who we’ll call “Jeff” (26M) for about two months. I met him through a dating app four years ago and we have been inseparable since then. Jeff and I are soulmates, he is the only person in my life who has never let me down. I haven’t had an easy life, my parents got divorced when I was two years old. my dad walked out on us, and he never looked back. He did Pay child support, but that was about it, he never bothered to actually come, meet me, or see how I was doing. My mom (48F) was also not a great mother, to be honest. She was more involved in other activities when I was younger, rather than actually raising me. I was practically raised by nannies or babysitters when I was slightly older. my mother was really young when she had me and her priorities were really different. She didn’t care much for being a mother and mostly spent her time going out with friends or on dates. She was an out-and-out socialite and didn’t have time for me.

OP should reach out to her mom.

I’m surprised OP’s mom isn’t in jail for kicking out a minor. I’m sorry OP had to deal with that toxic environment and her mom has her karma coming for her when her precious stepdaughter betrays her and she’ll realize that she threw away her biological daughter for nothing and has no one but herself to blame on why she is not apart of OP’s life anymore.

@@C1984_FR that last year between 17 and 18 is a bit of a grey area, cps tends not to get involved because by the time the courts get round to doing anything the minor has aged out so unlikely anything would happen to the mother due to OP being so close to 18 ( a better thing to do would be for OP to contact the IRS to inform them she left at 17 incase her mother was still claiming her on her taxes)

There was a girl exactly like Jess when I was in high school. She bullied her step bro and did her best to turn the school against him. Since he was a sweet guy - while she was demon spawn - one girl in our group convinced us to help the guy. So, we made it our mission to show the school what a nasty, phony c#nt she was. We borrowed several tape recorders from the library ( yes, I'm OLD) and began sneakily recording her whenever she was near us. We got SO MUCH dirt on her within the first week. She talked so much trash about pretty much everyone she was 'Friends' with.
After we got the proof, we put it all on one cassette (we also made several copies, just in case), snuck into the intercom room, put the cassette and player in front of the mic, turned on the intercom, hit play, then left, locked the room, then crazy glued the lock.
The result was fast and brutal. She became a pariah in school by the end of the day and our guy friend was never messed with again.

Unfortunately, the police don't always enforce this. It really comes down to the officers involved. Some of them will just consider it a family issue and enforce it to reflect their feelings on the issue.

Like the "Kids for Cash" scandal in PA where a couple of judges were sending every kid in court to juvenile detention for long sentences without bothering to check the facts of the case. And the reason is because they were getting kickbacks from the guy who owned the detentions centers when they sent kids there.

OPs mother is a horrible person which is why she never thought to even drug test both the girls. She obviously loved her stepdaughter more than her own daughter.
My son was staying at my sister's house for a week. My sister found weed and an empty 40oz of beer in her son's room. My nephew immediately blamed my son. I knew my son, and I 100% knew my son would never do drugs or drink. So, the following day, I drove up to my sister's house, and we took the boys for drug tests. I was not surprised when my son tested clean, but my nephew didn't. Now, they were 15, and I wasn't angry at my sister, as she wanted to believe her son. She did get her son into a program, and he has been clean since. My son is now almost 24, and he and his twin sister still have never so much as had a beer, smoked a cigarette, or taken any other type of drugs outside of prescriptions. I believe this is because I have been sober for 25 years (became sober when I got pregnant), and I have always taught my children about the dangers of addiction and how it tends to run in a person's family.

If you've been losing clients left and right and a single contract can now make or break you, I think it has more to do with your business skills and production capabilities than anyone holding a grudge. What I hind the most interesting is that people blame the person who could save them but chooses not to for all their woes rather than the one(s) responsible for said woes in the first place. Not helping isn't the same as actively hurting. Remember, manipulators love to try and convince you that not doing something is the same as doing something. Not being polite isn't the same as being rude. Not being friendly isn't the same as being hostile. Don't let them ever convince you that the absence of something is actually something.

What did your mother think she was doing throwing you out of the house you where a minor, and you didn't deserve to be treated so badly she believed your step sister she failed as a mother and I hope you get your own back she got back in touch because she wanted access to Jeff she would have tried to destroy your marriage because your husband has more money
She wanted into your life I wonder how long will it be before your mother gets in touch, she would only want money I think your husband should reply to her husband and tell him that the product was cancelled purely because the quality was terrible and the price was high she expected some kind of profit from your husband's business and the lawyer will teach her to not mix your personal feelings and your business
I would say your mother is going to get back in touch sometime in the future you should send her your stepsister confession and tell her she lucky you didn't take action about that as well but you don't involve business and personal life

Well, it seems the contract was already collapsing because the whole thing was a bait and switch to begin with. Use high quality products to secure good prices, then cut the quality while raising prices within the confines of what the contract allows. Then perhaps the whole reason they contacted OP in the first place was to give them a reason to cancel the contract that would seem petty and potentially be legally actionable the bad press could then be used to coerce a continuation of the contract. And, because the communication existed, they have an out on any defamation case because the defamatory statements are technically true... Which means if their response is "See you in court," the post stays up, barring an injunction. And OP's husband is in for a protracted legal battle that will cost more than resuming the contract.(Now this is based on how it could go down, not how it did go down.)
