Arrowhead hunting TN - Fine TN dovetail AND the most unusual find!

  • It's been a couple months since my last upload.. The finds have been slowly coming in. The finds in this newest video are from the end of the summer months. The competition is getting stiff out at my usual sites, so I've spent more time hunting, and less time uploading videos lately. A few of my finds from this timeframe were interesting, including another nice dovetail found with an unfortunate impact fracture to the tip of it. Still a super nice point though! An oddity of an artifact recently found at one of my early archaic sites is an Egyptian looking pendant of some sort. No modern artifacts have been found there by myself personally, which makes this find even more unusual. Surely its not what it appears to be... or is it?! Ive heard the theory of the Egyptians making it to North America first. Could this be evidence? Or just an odd piece of modern jewelry, completely out of place? Your thoughts are welcomed in the comments below, and as always thanks for watching! Be sure to subscribe to keep up with my upcoming finds. A recent fossil find of mine that was found wound up being a head scratcher to some experts. It's definitely worth checking out!

      Thanks buddy! That’s the beauty of hunting for artifacts, you never know what will turn up! I’ve got a piece I found recently that will probably be in my next video that I’d like your thoughts on. You seem to know your fossils and whatnot pretty good. I found a chunk of sandstone I believe that has what looks like a petrified rib cage on one side. Big ribs too! I went back to that spot again and found all kinds of rocks in that one relatively small area with strange fossils on them, including many more with what look like ribs on them. I thought I would put it in the next video to try and get some thoughts on it from people. I sent pics of it to the geology / paleontology dept at a local college, thinking they might be interested in having a look at them. They never responded. 😒

    Killers again buddy!! And a charm thrown in!! I found an old maybe WW1 era German maybe button this week in a spot it shouldn’t be!! Still looking into it with some help from button YT guys.
    Hey that dove looked like it had an old impact fracture then it was resharpened?? If so that’s super cool!!! You probably don’t remember but I finally hit some points on my dig site, got a full big sandy last dig, about passed out!!! That dates it back pretty far!! Stoked.. Keep hammering!!!

      Dang man, that’s pretty wild! Like I told someone else.. that’s part of the thrill about artifact hunting, never knowing what you’ll stumble upon! It’ll be interesting to see what that button turns out to be. I’d have to go back and examine that dove though, I didn’t notice the tip being reworked. But like you said, that would be neat! That’s awesome the dig site finally giving up one to you! I guess it felt bad all that hard work put into shoveling all that dirt. A big sandy though… nice recovery and congrats!! Salut My Friend,
    I hope all is well in your neck of the woods, it has been awhile since I have had the pleasure of inquiring.... though, I must say; this video made that wait all worthwhile, now that I see you are out and mobile, healthy and walking the creeks!
    Quite an interesting charm you found, thank goodness you weren't accosted by scarab beetles fetching that trinket up! So many great points to boot, and one of the best double picks I have ever seen! ....what a rarity! But you know, I think each artifact has it's own merit regardless their shape, both exquisite and rough in form. You must feel similarly, the care you give that allows the viewer full access to every angle.... one can see how each flake came loose, finish honing sharp the implement; that is ever appreciated!
    Sending good cheer as always, may you and yours be found amply Blessed!

    I have a smqll library detailing all north American visitors. "Michigan copper culture" describes exploratory Egyptian and Polynesian coywges in search of precious resources such as Michigan copper and other things like spices and furs ect, and there is smoke to this theory.
    I can elaborate and refer you to certain other collaborative artifact finds.
    Long story short, if you're not scamming us with some ebay garbage, you're holding something that will be destroyed by the Smithsonian if you give it up.
    -Have it checked at an antiques or rare artifacts show, but don't disclose the location ECT. Say you got it in a lot of collectible antiques at a shop in Rhode island and it stuck out or something and you wanted to verify its authenticity ECT.
    Could be $35,000 to a private collector. Dig the site of finding as well

    • @Points365
      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว

      I fully believe that there was all kinds of contact that happened pre European settlement. As you mentioned, I believe the Smithsonian etc. keep their thumb on history that would rewrite history. As much as I hoped it would be something to verify a history unbeknownst to us, thanks to the people that watch and comment helping me identify artifacts, I was led in the right direction to its identity. After doing more research in the right area, it appeared to be a possible Egyptian revival watch fob. I found one similar in a sale ad dated between 1895-1905. Still a neat find I think! Water movement is what washes them out. Follow the water and you’ll eventually start finding them! What part of TN you in?

      You. Are. The. MAN! That’s why I love posting these crazy finds… people like you are friggin on top of this stuff! Thank you so much for your expertise. I might need your help on one of my next upcoming videos as well. I crawled my way through 100+ yards of cave with only my pro pointer in hand. I found an old civ era button wayyy up in there. I also found a coin of some sort that’s corroded beyond recognition. Once it’s dry enough for me to crawl back up that cliff to get in that cave, I’m taking the ol Nokta Legend with me. Hopefully it’ll be able to find something a little deeper in the compacted dirt!

    Bro, every day you post a video is a good day. Your channel is one of my favorites as you find all the same types and materials I find too. You've got a lot of epic sites to cover man, seriously impressive and I envy your ability to find stuff of this caliber consistently. River is tough with higher density population, always someone else footprints covering the best sites. That dovetail is a fkn sight for sore eyes even with the tip knick. Don't see tons of dovetails mid state really.

      @Points365  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man, I really appreciate that. But I tell ya, it’s getting harder every year to keep the top notch stuff coming. Seems like a couple years ago everyone decided to take up artifact hunting as a hobby. Like you said… it’s footprint after footprint pretty much everywhere. I’m convinced people just walk and and every bank. But Ive found plenty of stuff in someone else’s footprints, so it doesn’t deter me from looking. Agreed on the doves. They seem to be few and far between. I only have a handful of them, all of which have mostly come from 1 particular spot. Funny thing is, that particular site sucks 99% of the time.. but when it produces it’s usually nice! Thanks for the comment man, I enjoy hearing from the locals. Good luck out there… I’ll be looking for your footprints! Haha
