Toyota guy here, but bought a used 2021 Bronco Badlands Sasquatch 6 months ago. It’s been so fun and no issues. It’s a beast off-road and I’ve ran it through intense Utah off-roading. So impressed. My first Ford and I’m liking it so far.

Glad you like it. I'm a Ford guy, and all the bs they pulled with this thing from mark-ups to exploding engines, I just can't. My last Ford is probably going to be my last Ford.
I'm thinking about switching to Toyota, but they've gotten rid of all the reliable n/a v6 engines.
Edit: If I purchased a Bronco it would definitely be a badlands.

I was dead set on choosing the Bronco when I learned about the Land Cruiser. I still preferred the Bronco and took it for a test drive. The drivetrain is better than the LC but it is really, really loud on the freeway. It scared me away from getting one. I test drove the LC and recently bought the First Edition (at little bit below the MSRP). I chose it because I prefer the looks and want to travel cross country, as well as it being a daily driver. 90% of the time I will be on roads but I live in the Mojave and want to be able to go off road as well.

  • @sunchaser999

Bronco is just about as good as it gets for off road. 35s, front and rear lockers, sway bar for badlands, good ground clearance.
Otherwise LC overall more well rounded.

As the Bonco's advocate. . . The stock tires on the Sasquatch are pretty noisy. If you turn on your front lockers while using the trail turn assist, you will really be surprised by how it works to pull you around a tight corner. (did I mention is has a front locker?) It's under a grand for a full set of steel skids for the Bronco via aftermarket. It does suck that if you want ACC and the front camera, you have to opt for the high/lux package. I wish you could have tested a fully loaded Wildtrak with the HOSS 3.0 vs the Toyota. As always, killer video Ryan, great way to enjoy my cup of java on a Saturday morning.

Base trim with Sasquatch package for the Bronco for me. I like more the looks of it vs. the LC. Ground clearance is important especially when you're in river crossing which you did not mentioned wading depth capability in both vehicles. And trail turn assist is a must when you are in the field plus front locker. Just put a proper rock slider and skid plate and you're good to go. Good review although the test should have been done with V6 in the bronco. Also when I test drove both, the LC had significantly more nose dive on braking than the Bronco. The Bronco does have more interior noise but that's bc you can take the top off, which is super fun. The ultra soft ride of the LC drove me nuts. This reviewer seems biased towards the LC. Lol. The only thing the LC has on the Bronco is reliability. I chose the Bronco bc ultimately the ride is better for me and it came ready with better ground clearance and 35s.

The Ford Everest is technically a Ford Ranger without a truck bed, and an enclosed cabin. It shares more equipment (dashboard, & interior included) with the Ranger than a Ford Bronco does with it. Mitsubishi, and Isuzu also do something similar with their pick-ups as well. The Mitsubishi Pajero is based on their Triton pick-up, and the Isuzu MU-X SUV is based n their D-Max pick-up. Where I live in Malaysia, these 3 SUVs are only offered with Diesel engines.
I am guessing that the main reason that Ford doesn't sell the Everest in the USA is that size wise, it would compete directly with the Ford Exploder... I mean Explorer, and take away sales from the Bronco itself. I can see Mr or Mz Jo Average wanting a more civilized SUV than the somewhat rugged and rough Bronco. However, the American market would not really tolerate a body-on-frame, truck based SUV as Americans seem to prefer unibody SUVs. IF there is a market for the Everest, it would be a somewhat niche market. Unless they also do a Lincoln Luxury model of the Everest. Just my opinion, though.

I’d keep it where it is or take it out altogether. You have to hit the button to use it and it seems weird to put that on the passenger side. Overall it doesn’t bug me. I wanted to say it was in my eyeline, but the fact is - it’s not. It just seems like it would be.

I’m a Ford guy, my 17 and 23 2.7 Ecoboost F150’s have been reliable and not missed a beat, Love the Bronco’s looks, but I’d probably never take it on anything tougher than a gravel/dirt road so a pickup with 4wd is more useful for me, but I really like the Bronco’s and I admit if it were me picking Bronco, but if I were picking for my wife Toyota, not saying the Toyota ain’t a good off roader comfort wise for her I think that’s what she’d pick too. Also I’m unimpressed with lane keeping and auto dimming head lights, maybe Ford and my Chrysler just have bad systems and I leave ensured off.

I want a Bronco Everglades really bad. It’s perfect for where I go bass fishing in the swampy areas in South Florida. Comes ready off the shelf. But I’m just like you. I never plan on taking the roof off. I don’t want to deal with the noise on daily drives and long road trips. I wonder if some stiffer springs for the Bronco will fix the lower towing capacity? I tow 4 lbs occasionally. Tough decision. A Ready Bronco Everglades for $58k or a Land Cruiser premium for $64k and spend an extra $2,500 on a wheel and tire package. I wish GMC would dip into its parts bin and build us a fixed roof GMC Jimmy with 35s 😊

It can be an ongoing project, including importing accessories like lift kits along the way, and with enough vibe around it, it might lead to renewing the imports again. It's a vehicle which costs nothing compared to these vehicles, so much fun off road and capable as much as any Bronco.
I personally own a Jimny, and it has so much magic in compare to these over-tech vehicles..

There was an auto journalist that did a review of one by driving it around the US, but it’s just not built for American roads. The major issue was highway speeds. The poor thing was screaming at 4k RPM and was only running at around 72MPH… a new transmission would definitely fix that issue but several other problems exist such as crash safety issues that would require the vehicle to need very specific updates to meet American standards.
