  • I bought a 2022 Yamaha MT 07 abs new. After my First Ride review and first impression to see if it’s still worth owning in 2024 vs the Triumph Trident 660, Ktm 790 duke, Honda Hornet cb750 or 650, Kawasaki z650, Suzuki GSX-8S or GSX-8R. I’ve have had a Vstrom 650, Street triple 660, tracer 900 gt, triumph tiger 1050 abs and my wife’s SV650. I almost got a Tracer 9 gt plus + but for 3x the money and all the weight gain, all those electronics and over powered engine for Japanese roads, it’s not worth it. And there is just something about simple brakes, simple suspension, and cable throttle. I’ve add cruise control from MCcruise to have a bit of luxury. I wasn’t going to get a bigger, more expensive, less useable bike just for cruise control, I also like veridian cruise and will look at them for a ride by wire bike I’m concidering. The bike has a euro 5 ZARD exhaust muffler that is plenty loud without being as obnoxious as sc project or arrow and passes road inspection like leo vince to be street legal here in Japan. 車検okマフラーオーケー. I’ve added ebc double-h sintered break pads that were definitely worth it. It has kyb kayaba suspension for the rear shock and hyperpro street box with the progressive front fork spring for a slip easy install in cartridge kit on a budget. Adjustable levers, rear sets, handgrards, and bar end mirrors were nice littles add-ons. And basic amazon case covers, axle sliders, dayton frame sliders, and custom tayler 33 reflective rim tape all in black and gold for protection. And of course my micro mini blinkers and siquential leds in the Rear with a nice tail tidy that was much cheaper than a brand like Yoshura or akrapovic. I’ve aslo had a bagster comfort seat, that I had to sell and now like the oem comfortseat but would love the Corbin or sargent seats.
    This may still be the best light weight naked bike for the money.

    This makes a great daily rider as well as touring, there is a lot they don’t tell you when looking at big first rides and reviews. Do you need upside down forks? Do you need traction control and power modes on a bike of this size? Do midsized small motorcycles tour well with the best mods for your bike? Riding a motorbike at night or all day doesn’t have to be a crazy expensive top of the line touring luxury, budget works great and will save money for you to get your favorite mods. For stunts, track days, and a brutal sounding engine with plenty of torque, this is hard to beat. All the features you need for dank wheelies, stoppies, and even drifting. A very usable stunt bike.

    Here is a like bro awesome video as always Jeesus youtube just push this guy a lil bit more come on atleast 4 digit viewer count per month XD
    Would you suggest mt07 or maybe mt03 for a new tall rider (im around 6'3 / 191cm or so) saw ur comment on almost doing wheelies with 07 hahah thats a good advice on start but really having hard time picking and trying even some older models of bikes like vstrom 650/sv 650

    • @KairyuRider
      @KairyuRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I liked my v Strom.
      If you can fit on an sv650, that's a better choice to me.
      Mt07 won't wheel is you just tart in 2nd gear which I often do in traffic.
      Mt03 will be to small for your size and power will feel like a scooter.
      If you wait. I know the new hornet has power modes. Get that and go with low over mode and high traction control while you get comfortable. You get to ad power and reduce tc as you get better.
      You'll outgrow mt03 quick

      @@KairyuRider thanks for that piece of info ill see if i can get miself a sv650 to try on hand even the older version should be about the same in construction 2008 2012 that i saw selling might be worth a check , glad u liked vstrom that feels like the best pick in my eyes rn but will have to see about riding dimensions tho sv650 adn vstrom 650 should be about the same in most things on older versions (eg not buyign brand new 2022 2023 models)
      also cheers from Croatia man keep up the lords work wanna see more thingys from yamahas HQ xD

      @@KairyuRider saw em all xD every video i really liked sv650 people talking about it being the same 2001 as u said and for these videos too , the older the platform the better proly cause it has less things to go wrong and even if something does go wrong theres a lot of examples how to fix it hhahaa

    1 thing i forgot to ask that would make a good point depending on ur field of view, how would you say does a build/size of a bike effect its safety, smaller is easier to manuver but lets say you crash slide down the road with a naked mt07 vs a vstrom 650 or a touring bike with wide sides and front like theres more stuff in front and sides that might save u or ur legs or potentialy crash ur legs further depending on the crash
    tired to find some info on that but its really hard to get some data / I know lady had a small speed crash on sv650 with crash bars and that went well right

    • @KairyuRider
      @KairyuRider  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't end really matter in a serious crash
      But a small bike is easier to maneuver away from danger.
      Big crash protectors hold the bike up ovlff od you in a crash. But if that is the point that lands on you, your sure to have a break in a bone.
      If your that worried about crash safety, take riding classes, and get a airbag vest (I have a video on mine) and make sure it's a high-vis vest and get a white or neon helmet.
      That being said. When my kid is old enough to ride with me, I'll put hard aluminum panniers on my bake (small or big bike) so if we go down the bike doesn't go down on here.
      What your really asking about is slow crashes. When the bike can fall on you, big bike more weight, but more things to hold the weight off you. In faster crashes the bike slides away from you and doesn't matter.... or if it does fall on you at speed, even a 110kg dirt bike is still 110 kg at speed...
      Don't over think it, and practice low speed controls as much as possible

      @@KairyuRider ye pretty much was thinking about low speed crashes thanks got few points from that comment those will be smth to think about. Not really worried about me but more about others ramming into me so kinda was thinking crashbar front crashbar back so if it slides it wont fall all on me or legs

      @@deceivedonegaming6105 that's why most countries have lane filtering.
      If you are stopped at the end of the line cars might re-end you because they were not seeing the smaller bike.
      When you filter to the front all the cars you passed now have seen you.
      I also have a flashing Break light. And recommend high vis riding gear

    Have you saved up for improved suspension yet and if so what make?

    • @KairyuRider
      @KairyuRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      Rear shock, KYB (in Japan, as a Yamaha employee was under $500 u.s.d. and it's great)
      Front will be hyperpro street box, ($150 progressive springs and thicker oil)
      I'd say no need for either unless you are really pushing the bike hard, the softness helps with rough roads, and I see people get knees down on stock.
      But the kyb is a very welcom upgrade, but makes the short comings of the front noticable. Fronts should be here in 2-4 months.... thanks Russia

      @@KairyuRider Thanks, hope you report on the final result (I'm in England ) Of course this expediture is not recouped if the bike is sold so one is more likely to keep it for longer, thus saving money. My upgraded BMW f700GS, terrible original suspension, is now as good for me as any new replacement might be. Good Luck.

    • @KairyuRider
      @KairyuRider  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ya, I could see the hornet being better in some ways, but with my employee discount I got the yamaha with cruise, exhaust,and suspension for less than the hornet, and after resale losses and needing to do all that again, it's not worth the trade. And I've never felt the mt07 to be not enough power for the roads I ride.
      Next will be a proper seat and in 3 years make it a little better for my kid to ride 2 up😁
      But maybe I'm getting too ahead of myself😅

    Are the side intake scoops there only for decoration like before or are they actually directing the air somewhere?

      Mostly just fashion.
      But the help get air tot he regulator. And put some air around the tank witch eventually gets tot he air boc with is But the seat and pointing backyards
      But 95-98% fashion
      New cp3 yamahas are actual ram air
