I did this im a 56 year old man this is the best blueberry pie i think I've ever had. This has got to be better for you than a Snickers bar . You are awesome and I will check out your others i wrote this down and will enjoy again. Made this yesterday and it was great today. Thanks for sharing please find someone to give you a hug for me unless you just don't like hugs.
Made this pie for friends yesterday - even those who didn’t like blueberry pie before went for 2nd slices. Follow all the steps exactly and you won’t be disappointed, it’ll be the best blueberry pie you’ve ever had.
I loved your recipe. I made it today and it was the best blueberry pie I’ve ever made or tasted. I saved you to my Pinterest so I can make it again. Great recipe!
Looks kinda like a really rather easy pie to make. Absolutely looks fantastic! I'm going to try this tomorrow & Imma try to find your pie 🥧 crust recipe.. Thank you. Minimal ingredients (which is great - done had 4 cups of sugar to berries on some other video I'd watched prior to this..) I was like ugh.. Noooo one had 3 sticks butter for Crust alone & I can't afford that anymore but good old frozen LARD works beautifully or half butter- have lard is great.. Can't wait.. 😋
Yes, absolutely! I use the same base recipe for cherry, triple berry, etc... Please let me know if you wish for further clarification. Thank you for stopping by 😊
I'm a bit of a blueberry fan, and this recipe didn't disappoint. I've tasted several of Stephanie's other pies which feature her incredible flaky dough crusts - cherry pie, apple craisin walnut pie, and and this blueberry pie was as good as could be. Try the recipe. You're welcome. 🙂
Apologies...I wasn't very clear. For liquids (water, blueberry juice) it is liquid ounces. Everything else is by weight. Recipe is clearer in the video description (also a printable version is available in the description link).
I have not used tapioca flour in this recipe so I can't guarantee the result. I have used tapioca flour in other recipes (replacing 2 tablespoons of tapioca for each 1 tablespoon of cornstarch).
On the recipe printout, it mentions to "place assembled pie in the refrigerator or freezer to allow the crust to relax". It doesn't indicate how long to put it in the fridge/freezer and it is not mentioned on the video either. How long does it take to have the pie relax?
Hello. My 1.5lbs of blueberries extracted much more than 4oz. Do I stop collecting the juices after 4oz or just let it keep giving up the moisture? Thanks!
Hi, you want all the juice drained from the defrosted blueberries. Just retain the 1/2 cup (4 fluid ounces) to make the slurry. If you don't drain it all the pie may be runny.
I wanted to see it cut open…I made 2 blueberry pies this weekend using 2 different recipes and they were both runny…I’ll try this one and hopefully it won’t be runny…
I hope you have a chance to make the recipe. IMO the two most important aspects to a pie that isn't runny is 1) defrosting / draining the blueberries and 2) the slurry is thickened properly.
Hi, this recipe uses frozen blueberries. I defrost the blueberries in the bag they came in, then strain the excess juice. You may use water if using fresh blueberries.
Hi, I've never frozen this pie. I have frozen apple pies, but sometimes the bottom crust gets a bit soggy after defrosting. Should you decide to freeze it, wrap well in plastic to avoid freezer burn. Defrost in your fridge overnight (this may help to avoid a soggy bottom crust by slowly defrosting).

Thanks for clear instructions! I love using frozen berries year round
This looks so dang good! My kids picked a bunch of fresh blueberries - can I use fresh?
Yes! Just replace the juice with water.
Love from USA

I love your recepi
just amazing
really excellent
Looks delicious!
Thank you for this great video! Will this recipe work with most fruit/barry pies?
Yes, absolutely! I use the same base recipe for cherry, triple berry, etc... Please let me know if you wish for further clarification. Thank you for stopping by 😊
How long would you say you leave your blueberry to defrost before it’s drained out enough? Are you defrosting the bag in the fridge or out?
I usually defrost overnight in the fridge. Then drain the juices for about 15 minutes.

Two and four ounces of sugar? Is that by weight, as in 16 oz to a pound? Or by volume, as in 8 oz to a cup?
The sugar is by weight.
When you reference ounces, are the liquid components liquid ounces or ‘weight’ ounces?
Apologies...I wasn't very clear. For liquids (water, blueberry juice) it is liquid ounces. Everything else is by weight. Recipe is clearer in the video description (also a printable version is available in the description link).
hi! would love to try this recipe!! wanted to ask whether the measurements are fluid ounces or weight ounces. Thanks!!
Hi, all the liquid measurements are fluid ounce and the remainder are by weight. Looks like I need to be more specific, so thanks!
@@smsinny1 thank you for specifying! i shall try the recipe and let you know if you dont mind :))
Also will using brown sugar instead of white result in better flavour?
Sorry, I've never made with brown sugar. I doubt it would change the taste much.
@@smsinny1 okay!
Can you use tapioca flour in place of the cornstarch?
I have not used tapioca flour in this recipe so I can't guarantee the result. I have used tapioca flour in other recipes (replacing 2 tablespoons of tapioca for each 1 tablespoon of cornstarch).

Once the oven heats to 425 . You just want to chill the crust. It can be 10 minutes or an hour.

Maybe a stupid question, but the 4 ounces of blueberry juice came from the 1&1/2 pounds of blueberry right?
There are no stupid questions! Yes, it came from defrosted blueberries. You may also use water if you don't have enough juice.
Where is your shop in New Jersey?
Bogota

how do you get the juice from the blueberries
Hi, this recipe uses frozen blueberries. I defrost the blueberries in the bag they came in, then strain the excess juice. You may use water if using fresh blueberries.

You should use grams instead of ounces. It's difficult to know if you're referring to fluid ounces or weight ounces.
Thank you for the feedback.
What happened to the butter 😊😂😮
I don't understand what butter you are referring to.
People don't measure by OUNCES... IT'S CUPS.
Ok
I will make this tomorrow with lattice top to put in the freezer till Thanksgiving. Will this freeze well and what is best to defrost before baking?
