This recipe was a total success with my frozen berries! And when what I make works, my husband doesn't care for any variations, so this is a keeper! Thank you!
Awesome, I love a little bite to my berry pies so I add about a teaspoon of fresh lime juice and for fun about a 1/2 Tsp. of vanilla, it just enhances the flavors and brings it all together.
I absolutely loved the enthusiasm in this video and it made me feel like it wasn't going to be so hard to make this pie lol I WILL BE WATCHING MORE! Thankyou!!
This recipe is very easy to follow. When it comes to the flour, i use 3 tablespoons plus 3 tablespoons of cornstarch. This is my new go to recipe for frozen fruit pies.
Just the recipe I needed as I did not want the pie to be too thickened. I’d appreciate a primer on all pies illustrating how they vary or are similar in how we prep the fruit, fresh or frozen.
My granddaughter and I are making this pie now. My granddaughter made the dough for quiche earlier and we had enough leftover dough for two layers. We’ll let you know how it turns out for us.
Well, it turned out pretty well. We did not use as much of the frozen berries as you so I cut back on the sugar which made it a little sour; we added powdered sugar on the crust and that fixed it. Thanks for the recipe Rebecca..
Good tip -- thanks for your "take" on the recipe p5gBand Yes, the berries can be sour for sure, glad you found a way around it1 ingenuity!! thanks for telling me!
How do you know when it's done? Originally you said bake it for 1.5 hours but later you said you had to bake it for 2 hours due to some of the berries still being frozen. How can we tell if we need to keep baking longer?
Brilliant Rebecca, totally superb, can’t wait to give this one a go tomorrow!! Thank you, thank you thank you so much for a wonderful recipe, I’ll let you know how I make out!!!! God Bless and take care please! Smiles!!!! 😀😀😀😀😀 Adrian (Bermuda).....
the energy you gave is addicting! this was great for a basic beginner baker who has a small kitchen but still wants to offer home like baked goods for family and friends! thanks for the simple recipe! I have twin babies and this won't take too much prep time to make so this was very convenient for me! thank you :) if anyone says you're too excited oh well.. you brought the energy and I couldn't stop watching! love it! can you make a chocolate mouse pie??
Wow, yummy, it's really easy to do and you give clear instruction, I just checked my fringe still have bags of the wild berries from last autumn, I am going to make it. But do I need to butter the baking tray before placing the crust?
Rebecca, Love your passion for cooking. Definitely have a lot of good tips for making pies! I plan on making a Marion berry pie for Easter in 2 weeks. One of my friends who is just a great cook got me Marion berry flash frozen once they were picked to preserve freshness.. Thanks again and yes I did subscribe to your channell. Best, John Gates
I love your kind comment, thank you for your support on my channel John Gates ! Love Marionberries, do you have a tree? /did you freeze from last fall?
@@RebeccaBrand Hi Rebecca, One of my friends who enjoys making everything from Jams to Pies has a grower who picks them during the heart of Summer and then flash freezes them to keep them ripe throughout the year. Easter is on the horizon so a pie or 2 will be made later next week. My neighbor has Rhubarb that grows naturally in there garden so I am in the process of making Strawberry Rhubarb Jam as we speak. Thanks for sharing your passion with many of us and glad to subscribe to your channel!
This was great! the tips for stretching that first crust and pinching the crust like a tweezer will be a wonder and life saver!! I had no idea it was this easy. I always thought you'd have to pre-cook and thicken the berries. I will take a hint from other comments & add a tad more flour or starch, & a tad of lime or lemon. Wonder what oven temp to use though. Thanks so much!
Thanks! Making it today! I'll let you know. P.S. I thought I had watched twice but I must have just been skipping back through, because just now I realize you DO give the baking time. (-;
This was awesome Rebecca! And so easy and fast! As a med student I don't have much time so this is great for those days I crave something such as this. Do you think you can make a video for Pumpkin Pie? Love your videos!
I can't watch the whole thing. I foresee a big soupy mess coming out of the oven. Also, roll your top crust under the bottom to seal it. Where's the egg wash for the top? Maybe pay more attention to what you're doing and a little less enthusiasm. This video makes my eyes twitch.
Holla! I used to go to ShopRite for Triple Berry Pie but it's too expensive now and i was looking for a recipe with frozen berries and Pillsbury ready-made crust and this was my ANSWER. Love this, I just made an apple pie but this will surely be next week's dessert! Nothing like an easy prep with great results. xo
either she really wasnt in the mood to make this video and shes trying to hide it by being overly enthusiastic or shes just stoned/drunk af . either way it made for a great video
Adapt the filling for this pie recipe, which has pretty lattice-strip crust topping, to suit seasonal availability and preferences. Make it with an assortment of berries.
I don't like those pre made pie crust! I always make home made. I add a little cinnamon which helps to bring out the flavors, plus I cook my fresh frozen berries (picked last May from the Blueberry farm) just till slightly thick, pour into crust, top with another crust & bake.
You make everything look soo easyy... I'm gonna try to do all the stuff that you do ... Starting with the grilled cheese sandwich, then with this wonderful pie andd a another one i saw... Idk how was it's name but i'm gonna try it... I will just finish my diet this month and i'm gonna try these all... I don't care if i reput those lost pounds on my body again 😂😂
If you defrost the berries all the way, drain off the juice, cook the juice and sugar together in a sauce pan and then add a slurry of cornstarch water to the sugar juice and cook into a thick custard, let it cool, then stir your defrosted berries in and fill your piecrust, you will not save a soupy pie. Always add your defrosted berries to your thick sweet juice/cornstarch jelly for the perfect consistency.
I am a 14 and me and my mom love using your recipes to bake together, for bonding time between us we love you
Now you’re 21 😭😭🤯🤯

I don't know how its taste was like! but I like the way it was made, as it looked very easy . Thank you, Rebecca.
Glad you liked it!
I love your mannerisms and characteristics! You're great to watch, not to mention a fantastic cook xx
Awesome, I love a little bite to my berry pies so I add about a teaspoon of fresh lime juice and for fun about a 1/2 Tsp. of vanilla, it just enhances the flavors and brings it all together.
Her berry pie was way to watery. Watch when she cuts her piece.. flooded! I wouldn't use frozen berries in pie.
You can use frozen berries, but you have to cook the filling down with a thickener before putting it in the crust to bake.
I absolutely loved the enthusiasm in this video and it made me feel like it wasn't going to be so hard to make this pie lol I WILL BE WATCHING MORE! Thankyou!!

I was not really sure about frozen berries and I searched it and found your reciepe. I have a feeling that is going to be EXCELENT !
Holy cripes you are way too enthusiastic...
N.I. right she needs to calm down
Dude... but it's... PIE!!!!!!!
So no egg wash or water to seal the edges?
I didn't think she was too enthusiastic. If you ever worked at a school you would know you need to show enthusiasm to get everyone interested.

Are 2 T enough flour for filling?
4T is better, the berries have so much juice.

Strawberry pie with Frozen
I made it with 5 cups of strawberries, cooked first over the stove. Next one will be mixed berries, just like this one.
