  • I have owned 112 motorcycles since 2000. This is my go to bike, fun great all around ride, fast, sporty, but not cramped like a 600RR bike. Only issues are no ABS and no fuel injuection. Bring this back Kawasaki with a 636 engine
    2005 Kawasaki ZZR-600 - $4190
    8300 miles.
Daily Driver. Lowest price ZZR600 in region for miles
    Miles increase 100 per week.
Excellent condition. It has a detuned Kawasaki ZX-6R engine so it handles more like a sport bike than a boring Ninja 650 / Yamaha FZ6R. About 100HP and comfortable too. Ready to go all season, doesnt need any maintenance.
    Tires have plenty of tread
Battery is new Die-Hard Jul 2021, cost $105
    Battery tender and small charger
    Puig windscreen
Frame sliders drilled through the fairings.
    Carbs cleaned earlier this year.
Runs great. Needs no maintenance. Oil changed in fall 200 miles ago. Only thing is some times when starting, especially when the engine is warm, you have to have the throttle open a little. If you are not familiar with carb bikes or are a beginner, maybe best to get fuel injected or a slower bike. You have to understand a choke and not to flood engine.
    Stock wind screen included
Price Firm. I know all the scams so dont bother. It will be a cash sale only and you will get the title, with no lien, at time of transaction. I am finacially set for life and dont need money, retired from the service, no games.

In the 80's and 90's sportbikes were designed for the street and track. Around the turn of the century they turned into street legal track bikes. They make more peak power today but that's because they spin higher, the powerbands have just been shifted up. But they've lost that midrange that's nice on the street. Kawi kind of put a band aid on it with the 636. Riding positions have got more aggressive and they've lost most of the underseat storage.
When the 4th gen ZX6R came out in '03 some people were complaining about all that. So in '05 they brought back the 3rd gens and called it the ZZR600. The only change is a different fairing stay to get rid of that 90's style huge fairing stay. That's why you see those empty bolt holes on the frame on each side of the tank, that's where the stay bolted on to. Besides that it's the exact same bike.
Yamaha kind of did the same thing with the 06-08 R6S. It's actually the 03-04 R6 but they added the "S" for street. IMO sportbikes from the 90's are better ones for people who hardly see the track, if ever. But they are still kick ass track bikes.

I had one in the same color. Traded it in for a 06 zx6r and started missing the zzr over time. The zzr is just so damn comfortable.

I have 2005 ZZR .Also had 2007 silver one that I traded for a 2002 Honda F4i . This is a ZX6J . Exact sane bike as 2000-2002 Ninja ZX6R . Not actually exact . They got rid of 90's big metal fairing stays. So acually more modern looking there but paint fools police ,EPA , insurance compaies ,even other riders . Its a sleeper & I used to spook squids on literbikes and blow them off road with it ! Owned 2 04'636's & 3 05'636' .This is my favorite for the streets & still can be made into a formidable track weapon in even now in 2023 .An experienced rider on one of these could shread 80% of other guys on Sunday squid days.

  • @kinderutz

There's a cold idle adjustment screw below the carbs that you can turn to warm it up then turn it down when hot ....1350rpm I believe is the idle speed (warm)....I had the ZX6R 636 , loved it but herniated a disc and had to sell it.
I had a carb jet kit and a Yoshimura pipe...the thing ripped

    2005 thru 2008 zzr 600 is the same as a 2002 zx6r. Just re-added zzr
They categorized it as spt touring to reduce ins.cost.
    Slight differences .
    Handle bar risers.
And axle diameter a bit smaller. Grab handles on rear.
The 03 and 04 zx6r is 636cc and EFI similar frame and fairings

This is an epic bike but I'm so glad i watched this video. My brothers have all had bikes. Ive never riden or took any courses for a bike riding and recently my friend let me try his ninja 300. The fear and exhilaration was unlike anything ive experienced before!
Even so if that bike didnt have abs, prob wouldnt be a good time. 😂 As for the ZZR its just too old school for me in terms of tech. Maybe once I become more experienced with bikes I'll consider it again.

  • @FuzedBox

You have the history of this bike all wrong! The '05-'08 ZZR600 is the exact same bike as the '00-'02 ZX-6R; in fact the manufacturer's stickers on the frames state that both of these bikes are the model ZX6J.
They are identical. The ZZR600's fairings have understated paint schemes as part of the re-manufacturing and re-badging of the '00-'02 J model, selling as a sport-tourer.

Why cant they make a bike like this now? If they put the 636 engine in a similar chassis thay weighted less than 430lbs wet with no electronic aids and 120 horsepower id be in love. Im a newer rider with my Z400 and really see no point in electronic aids. I got the ABS model but have yet to even use it. As well as had gotten used to the 50 horsepower in a matter of days.

Don't forget about the reserve gas tank reason you can shut the valve off to keep the gas from damaging the carburetors
