I love this line so much, and it is overlooked a ton! So many times, in this new Netflix series, Wednesday is depicted in a way we have never seen her like before. Wednesday Addams was always a solemn character with a knack for homicidal behavior and torturing. In these series, we get to see her get emotional when Thing almost died, hug Enid in the end of the series, thank Bianca (her former rival), get revenge on the people that either hurt her or ones close to her (like her brother in Episode 1), run after Eugene and Rowan into the middle of the woods to warn them of their compromised safety, take an arrow for Xavier, kiss Tyler, and so much more that made her look more human. She still remains as this kooky, emotionless girl with serial killer thoughts, however, she is so much more than that now, and I love it! Jenna Ortega's version really shows what is behind that harsh, savage exterior, and I think it is the perfect new view of Wednesday. She is willing to die and get revenge for the ones close to her, however, she is also a very solemn girl that isn't great with emotions.
Jenna was definitely the highlight of this show, she really made her iteration of Wednesday her own, without trying to copy any other version. She even got to act alongside Christina Ricci, herself a former Wednesday. 🖤
My favorite moment in this series is when Wednesday gets revenge on a few jocks after stuffing Puglsey in a locker by putting piranha's in the pool and one of them lost one of their balls, that scream from one of them and that smirk on her face is the cherry on top.
I know what people are thinking. I mean, like whoa, she really piranhas in the pool to make sure a random school bully who stuffed her brother in a locker won't be allowed to procreate? But to me, and wednesday, she did the world a favor and then some, cause it turns out, she's my type of woman like she's gonna attempt to insult or harass them into backing out of torturing anyone she cares about, even if she doesn't show it, but then again, neither can I. We're two threads in the same stitch. Bound together, even under strain, but I'm more into conspiracy theories mixed with any dark humor imaginable, meaning I'm the master strategist, and she's more tackle them head on at their own risk, and I was in 9 schools for a decade (and she hasn't broken my record yet), many have tried to change my "Edward Kenway" scoundrel status, but many have failed cause I'm autistic in an allistic world where one small mistake from either side, accident or on purpose, gets kicked out of school, mostly the differently abled ones, and it's not our fault. We all exist because of them. And I'd still call her my future conquest if anyone tried to ask me if I know who she is💀💀👻👻. Are we to be, or are we not to be? That is my question. The answer: me and wednesday (2022) are to be, which means I win. It's like that bee 🐝🐝thing, you kiss it( if you're bumblebee from teen titans), and by the time it bumps into someone and stings them, the bee gets itself out of the person, but in the process, it loses its stinger and dies before you realize what happened. The moral of this comment is this: There's never a dull moment. It means something 's always happening, and it'll take more than that to stop the music
Heck she even congratulates the fact that one of them lost his balls. "He lost his testicles I'd say that's a benefit as a egotistical jock like him shouldn't be allowed to breed."
One of my favorite lines came from episode one: "She's been smothering me with hospitality. I plan to return the favor...in her sleep." And this one: "When I look at you the following emojis come to mind: rope, shovel, hole."
"Pugsley, you're soft and weak. I give you two months," should have at least been an honorable mention. Also. "my emojis for you are Rope. Shovel. Hole" was great as well.
I do want a Season 2 of that show, but I also want the soundtrack to be Nu Metal and Industrial Metal as imo it would fit the character of Wednesday Addams

"Is your spectral vision impaired? I'm dying" is the funniest, cracks me up every time i watch it. "That boys family was going to file attempted murder charges, how would that have looked on your record? Terrible. Everyone would have known I failed to get the job done" is another classic.

these comebacks is what got me hooked. i didn't expect the show to have intelligent humor. thought it would be interesting but those combacks make me literally lol
The sad thing about Xavier is, that he's not just genuine, but also very much correct in his assumptions. While Wednesday is very much capable to to be on her own, her acting around him is to show that the desire to act independent, to swash away every help, asked for or not, can go too far. And that it is wise to listen what people have to say, whether you act on it or not. It still is good to at least just listen. Wednesdays single flaw the entire time is, that the she's way too fast in judging situations and people. So yes, when Xavier is saying that she creates a story in her head that fits, it's not just about the visions, it's literally about everything about her.
But Xavier really not help his case by down playing Wednesday in every move like he known better and acting like a creepy stalker, never taking a no for an answer, when Wednesday want nothing to do with him.
Xavier was being creepy towards Wednesday, so we can't blame her for brushing off Xavier. However, Wednesday's flaw in her detective skills is she often jumped to conclusions which led her to suspecting wrong people.
@@hikari2752 While Xavier had a tendency to act creepy, I'd argue that Wednesdays behavior towards anyone "outcreeps" anyone. Which leads me to the question, how would you even approach a person like her if you want to help her? And she does need help, whether she accepts or recognizes this or not doesn't matter, but without help, she would have lost and gained nothing. Wednesday is a terrible detective on her own. Like, actually bad. She's smart, sure, but that makes her worryingly arrogant and self-rightous to extreme levels.
When Wednesday told Tyler "I'll ignore you, stomp on your heart, and always put my needs and interests first." my buddy had to pause the episode to tell us that when he was watching that very scene with his other friends, his one fried said in response to that line, "You mean, like every other girl?" My response was "Funny enough, I was thinking the same thing."
Best show ever! and although it's not a comeback I think that the best line is when her and Tyler are talking about the piranha attack she said "I'd do it again".
After all the buzz, I finally sat down and watched the series - if anything the buzz understated the case. Brilliant writing, and JO delivered the goods in a way that truly stunned me. I'm a tough sell, but an unreserved 10/10. Don't say this often, but - Season 2, pretty please!

I feel like it is always hit or miss whether an actress does a good or bad job as Wednesday (this goes for ALL the Addams members). You have to capture her weirdness, but the whole point of the Family is that they don't know their weird, as to them this is normal and everyone else is weird. But Jenna Ortega did amazing as Wednesday, and I can't wait to see her return for Season 2.
One thing I noticed watching this is when Wednesday looks at someone taller than her, she doesn't lift her head up to look them in the face. Just raises her eyes and her head remains level.

Most of the cast are returning with the ones who are as of right now up in the air and may not return are Christina Ricci as the lead villainess of this season Laurel Grey as the writers still aren't sure if Laurel will be able to play a role in S2 as a major antagonist, and Gwendolyn Christie as Mrs. Weems's ghost as it was revealed that Gwendolyn Christie will reprise her role as Lucifer for Sandman S2.
Now with corporate ghoul Jeff Bezos buying MGM things have become more complicated, he owns the right of the Addams Family, because they couldn't topple down the popularity of Wednesday, corporations do what they always do when they can win the competition, they buy them.
I love Wednesday's social media quote and telling Enid that her followers are imbeciles. However, even though she roasted Xavier in 2:47-2:59, she was ultimately wrong about her suspicion of him being the monster, but her basis of suspicion was not unfounded because of his drawings. Even when Gomez was finally cleared of all charges, she still chose to be savage towards him by saying that she knew that he didn't have what it takes to be a murderer.

Everybody praises Jenna Ortega and rightfully so, but Christina Ricci's also fantastic. Even if you ignore the nostalgia factor of her playing Wednesday 3 decades ago, her acting is perfect on its own merits. Thornhill's facial expressions when Wednesday snapped at her were so realistic. I don't think anybody would guess that she'd turn out to be evil if they watched the series without spoilers. She effortlessly slipped into a caring, motherly role and looked genuinely hurt when Wednesday rejected her "I think we're a lot alike".

One thing I noticed watching this is when Wednesday looks at someone taller than her, she doesn't lift her head up to look them in the face. Just raises her eyes and her head remains level.

@@brooke_brooklyn I've read the interviews and it was confirmed that Wednesday S2 will start filming sometime this year meaning it's release will be sometime next year.
Most of the cast are returning with the ones who are as of right now up in the air and may not return are Christina Ricci as the lead villainess of this season Laurel Grey as the writers still aren't sure if Laurel will be able to play a role in S2 as a major antagonist, and Gwendolyn Christie as Mrs. Weems's ghost as it was revealed that Gwendolyn Christie will reprise her role as Lucifer for Sandman S2.

I love Wednesday's social media quote and telling Enid that her followers are imbeciles. However, even though she roasted Xavier in 2:47-2:59, she was ultimately wrong about her suspicion of him being the monster, but her basis of suspicion was not unfounded because of his drawings. Even when Gomez was finally cleared of all charges, she still chose to be savage towards him by saying that she knew that he didn't have what it takes to be a murderer.

Everybody praises Jenna Ortega and rightfully so, but Christina Ricci's also fantastic. Even if you ignore the nostalgia factor of her playing Wednesday 3 decades ago, her acting is perfect on its own merits.
Thornhill's facial expressions when Wednesday snapped at her were so realistic. I don't think anybody would guess that she'd turn out to be evil if they watched the series without spoilers. She effortlessly slipped into a caring, motherly role and looked genuinely hurt when Wednesday rejected her "I think we're a lot alike".
I love this show. I think it is amazing. Jenna Ortega Is amazing as Wednesday. I loved her in Stuck In The Middle. She was amazing in that also.
