ENGLISH: I would like to add two references, this one from Shingeki no Kyojin, and the Mr. Robot series. Theory or not, I wouldn't say. but despite the restraint, it may spoiler. So let's start with Xavier's look, which is close to Eren's. Eren represents in his series, Odin, and Loki (Thor would walk, but he is represented by Armin). Eren's first transformation into a Titan, that of the Titan Shifter which is Tyler's Hyde. Tyler represents the heads or tails of Xavier. The good and the bad side. Besides, there's a camera grip between the two, for example the cafe scene. Xavier disappears when Tyler appears. Where when Tyler is injured, Xavier appears with a scarf, he always has an image game. Also note that at the end of Shingeki no Kyojin, Eren looks with his friends/family at a screen (a scene that you find at the end of the Mr. Robot series, whose main character also represents Odin, that is less obvious). Besides, the cinema viewing camera is pointed, on Wednesday, images of crows, which look like brainwashing. When they take her away and try to get her back into the club, which her parents have joined. In the series, Mr. Robot, he also has a character called Tyler, a reference to the mythological character "Tyr". Note that the reference to Mr. Robot, goes with the phone, which Xavier gave to Wednesday, and which was hacked. As a reminder, Odin is the God of electricity. I would point out that Xavier's power goes very well with the character. But I limit myself, for the moment, to what I have said. Except for one thing, which has nothing to do with the God Odin, but the same God (don't search, even if some will understand). Like Wednesday, Xavier, carries around all the time with a hooded sweatshirt, he's not the only one, and for good reason. But is for him, a representation, like archery.
You missed a big Easter Egg. On Outreach Day Wednesday goes to the Weathervane. She is talking to Xavier when she rings the counter bell. Tyler appears and says, "You rang." Obviously, a reference to Lurch.
Also, When Travis says she's "kooky" and Wednesday says that she prefers "spooky". That's from the original TV theme song. "They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky. . ."
Wednesday is asking Thing to "fetch the smelling salts, again". This is a call back to the original series, where in several episodes people fainted in the Addams house (due to the stuff they saw) and Thing was always fetching the smelling salts.
The students are wearing a Beetlejuice like uniforms, not to mention the Batman references in the canoe race scene and the whole Miss Peregrine vibe throughout. When Tyler describes Wednesday as kooky, and she preferred spooky, a clear and clever nod to the theme song.
Did anyone recognize the “Wicked Witch of the West”, Margaret Hamilton from the Wizard of Oz- sitting next to Grandmama 4:51? She apparently was in three episodes of the TV series.
The art done by Xavier in his studio of "The Hyde" is done in the style of The Cramps album cover for "Bad Music for Bad People." The song "Goo Goo Muck" which Wednesday Addams does her dance solo to at the Rave'n Dance is the 6th track on that album. Also, the cover art looks A LOT like the aliens in Mars Attacks! That movie was inspired by Plan 9 from Outer Space by director Ed Wood, who Burton made a movie about, that featured Vampira. Vampira is of course inspired by Morticia.
It's the other way around. Vampira inspired Morticia. The TV show from the 60s was only made after producers saw the huge success the Vampira show had in 55. Before the Addams Family TV show happened, Moticia was a barefoot, scrawny, nameless character in a newspapers comic strip.
I've not watched yet but I thought they'd team up & I thought it was Weems because of some small slight against Morticia! I've only seen the first episode to decide if I wanted to invest time. I watched the first run of the TV shows religiously.
You missed one Burton nod: The costumes Wednesday and her canoe team wear vostumes that are dead ringers to Batman Returns' Catwoman. And in a more indirect note, the other team has make up that looks just like Heath Ledger's version of the Joker, a character Burton got to play with in 1989.
Many parts of the series gave me big "Harry Potter" / "Hogwarts" vibes. The boat race depicted the 4 houses, Rowan was basically a Harry Potter look-a-like and Enid reminded is basically of Luna, even the werewolf theme fits!
Late but I wanted to mention that when Mortisha mentions the nursery rhyme witch Wednesday was named after I immediately remember the poem, it went Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child full of grace, Wednesday's child is full of woe, Thursday's child has far to go, Friday's child is loving and giving, Saturday's child works hard for his living, but the child who is born on the Sabbath day Is bonnie and blithe and good and gay.
My son turned it on(NOT his thing) I asked did your daughter recommend this?(not her's either) No & half way through first episode he was watching his phone. So I went back to my room & said I'll watch it when you're not home. 4 of my 5 g-kids would like it but not his daughter. I grew up with the OG TV shows.
@@ChibiNansy The age demo for these videos is not young people, it's 25+, more so women in their 30s-40s.. so... yeah, they'd know. And yes, I know who Lisa Loring is. This video is silly for an Addams family fan who isn't Gen Z basically, lol. Which is why it's funny to laugh about the OG comment. :P
@@ChibiNansy Both 90s movies been out on Netflix for a while now. Even before Wednesday dropped. Oh, And btw... I was born in 91 and still knew Christina Ricci played Wednesday.
i had heard of almost all of these 10 things except the number 1. I really think it was nice that they included all these references in honor of previous Addams Family project to keep a small line of connection between all Addams Family
In her flashback she looks like the Wednesday from the black and white series who was more sweet and charming when her Scorpio was killed she turned into Christina Ricci Wednesday
good catch. Those scenes tied well into an explanation of the evolution of her character from small girl (60s sitcom) to pre-teen (90s movies) to Teen (now).
I noticed Wednesday removing the bloom from a rose when taking it to Garret Gates's gravesite - an homage to Morticia's habit of cutting off the blooms from rose stems, leaving only the thorns.
Another interesting nod to Thor with Wednesday is that her psychic power is identified as a raven and Thor iconically had two helper ravens. Also anyone notice Xavier has painted two ravens in the quad in his mural? 😊
Funny u say that cuz christina ricci once said she portrayed a bit of lydia deetz when she auditioned for Wednesday. Christina was in a movie with winona ryder a few years before.
When they show the throwback to her birthday there is a poster *pin the tale* style but Beetlejuice! and the year book Morticia holds is the year 1991. The year the movie came out with Christina Ricci. Also in the boat race scene, Wednesday's outfit is an homage to Tim Burtons cat woman in Batman :P
The other Easter egg is Christina’s character is named Marilyn.. in the original series there was cousin Marilyn who was blonde and blue eyed compared to the dark of the rest of the Addams family
Those bug eyes. Yes totally agree... Did he use stop motion for some stuff? Some of the effects looked like stop motion or sculpture. Also the color motif of some stuff gave off a Burton vibe. The stripes and the dress she wears to the dance reminded me of the wedding gown in Beetlejuice only black not red.
7:02 Plus she uses a crossbow a lot in the 2010 musical - which I think is also why they named the mayor's son Lucas since that's the name of her boyfriend in the musical. That Lucas needs to learn to let go of his own fears and be more impulsive as well as already being brainy and creative in a way that already won Wednesday's heart. This Lucas needs to learn to not just give into peer pressure and trying to prove himself as a tough guy by being a bully to outcasts and to be more accepting of others rather than just labelling someone a freak just because others have labelled them freaks (which as we see starting in episode 6 he starts to do, slowly giving us a redemption arc that hopefully we'll see a bit more of in season 2 - not saying it should be the main focus, just be nice to see a bit more of).
How did you miss the batman returns reference?!? Wednesday wears an almost identical Catwoman costume like the one Michelle Pfeiffer wears in Batman Returns in the canoe race scene.
You kind of touched on it, this may be a spoiler So Spoiler warning But theres a line where Wednesday says “theres no such things as coincidences” or something along those lines, as shes saying they we see Christina Ricci on screen. That was probably my favorite part of the whole series.
It feels like foreshadowing that the song that played when Wednesday and Tyler danced was about a teenager turning into a nocturnal monster that goes prowling/hunting around town.
10. I recognized the double snap 9. As a fan of the 90’s Addams Family movies plus a fan of the movie Casper, I’m so MAD at myself for not recognizing Christina Ricci 🤦🏾♀️ I kept thinking to myself how pretty she was but it never hit me. 8. I heard her mention this in her Jimmy Fallon interview 7. 6. 5. I caught the arrow & apple reference 4. Caught the girl scouts comment and thought about to movie lol 3. Remembered her feelings about pilgrims from the second movie 2. 1.
Truck driver that drops off hitch hiker in the first episode looks like Large Marge the truck driver from Pee Wees Big Adventure. Also a Tim Burton movie.
4:53 is that Margaret Hamilton, the actress that came out in the original wizard of Oz she was the wicked witch? I was looking at her. like wait a minute that sounds it looks just like her.
I absolutely love the new Wednesday serious but I also wish that they would have made more movies of Christine Richie cuz to me she's still the best Wednesday but I absolutely do love the newest addition she is a wonderful actress
Christina Ricci is an unbelievable actress she has such great talent I have to admit when I first watched the 2022 Wednesday I was afraid that she would not be as good as Christina Ricci but it was super cool seeing her in the most recent Wednesday loved her and Wednesday I love her and everything she plays in I myself have seen just about everything and anything with her in it always thought she was a wonderful actress and still do to this day
Having seen the original Addams family, seeing Christina in Wednesday was awesome. I'm 25, I just have cool parents and a love for the goth aesthetic. 🤭
Here's another one, the architecture of the Nevermore school, from the outside, the facade looks exactly like the Addams Family mansion from the 90s movies.
Another video about Wednesday on wednesday? Well, thanks Ms Mojo, it was very interesting. I wish You a happy wednesday (and a happy holiday Season as well) and i hope to see You soon for more interesting videos like this one, take care , and, greetings from Colombia to You as well.
Millar and Gough were also the show runners for Smallville. In the first episode the pickup truck dropping off the hiker is Martha's which is a reference to Smallville.
i think the dress she wears to the dance is a nod to lydias red dress in beetlejuice. they aren’t the same exact dress, but they have super similar silhouettes it’s hard not to be reminded of lydia when u see wednesday
Also in the dance was a move reminiscent of Tim Burton’s, Mars Attacks! When the alien disguised itself as a blond woman, it walked in a peculiar way that was duplicated in the dance.
The shrunken head also reference to Grandmama in the original sitcom had a shrunken head hair to knit. The carnivorous plants that was seen throughout the series is a reference to Morticia's carnivorous plant Cleopatra the African strangler that ate raw hamburger meat. The Nevermore gate opened and closed on it's own accord reference to the wicket gate in front of the Addams Family's mansion. The crocheting that Enid does is a reference to the crocheting that Morticia does. The shawl that principal Weem's wears reference to Grandmama's shawl and the Addams Family theme song. The broom in Pilgrim World is reference to the theme song also "a broom you can crawl on..." The guillotine mention as a reference from the sitcom that Pugsley and Wednesday would use to cut the head off her doll Marie Antoinette.
The lady dropping off the hitch hiker is a nod to Large Marge from Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Wednesday's costume from the Poe Cup is Catwoman from Burton's Batman movies.
something you missed was I believe in episode 7 where she takes the bunny stuffy of Enid's stuffy pile and after talking little to uncle fester she goes to her side of the room and drops the plush
During the dance Wednesday bumps into Tyler before having a vision [spoiler alert] A hint that Tyler was the hyde because Wednesday only has vision when she accidentally touches people or things and has visions related to them
I like Christina Ricci's version of Wednesday better. If you go back and watch the movies, her eyes and facial expressions sell the character more. That said, I'm not going to take away from anything Jenna Ortega did to bring Wednesday to life in her own way i.e. learning cello, fencing, creating a dance, etc. So I will put Christina Ricci at a 10 and Jenna Ortega at a 9.8.
so I love the dance. It's funny though because the parts where her arms go up one at a time. It reminds me of Can't Buy Me Love where the main male character does the Anteater dance. Love Wednesday. ♥︎
During Wednesday's dance, she does the part of the tango where Morticia uses the castanets. Right after Wednesday tosses the pilgrim bullies around in the Weathervane, when the sheriff comes in, Wednesday steps forward with the same arm and leg moving together. This is a fighting stance. She is still prepared for battle.
There was a scene where somebody told Wednesday he thought she was kooky, and she replied she prefers to be spooky. An obvious nod to the TV show theme song.

I didn’t think I’d like to show and I really did and I love every time they would point out the old show it made it actually very good
In the cafe. When Wednesday rings the bell. The waiter says "you rang?" A clear reference to the shows zombie butler.
Why do all of the Easter Egg posts miss The Babushka move in the dance from the first movie.
10. I recognized the double snap
9. As a fan of the 90’s Addams Family movies plus a fan of the movie Casper, I’m so MAD at myself for not recognizing Christina Ricci 🤦🏾♀️ I kept thinking to myself how pretty she was but it never hit me.
8. I heard her mention this in her Jimmy Fallon interview
7.
6.
5. I caught the arrow & apple reference
4. Caught the girl scouts comment and thought about to movie lol
3. Remembered her feelings about pilgrims from the second movie
2.
1.
No mention of the school’s architecture being exactly like the Addams’ house design from from 90’s films
Truck driver that drops off hitch hiker in the first episode looks like Large Marge the truck driver from Pee Wees Big Adventure. Also a Tim Burton movie.
Did you know that Alexander Hamilton's portrait is seen in the portrait wall in the Nightshade library staircase.
Fun fact, the girl scout was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
THAT'S where I know her from. Harmony, right? Thank you. That was driving me nuts.
@@BostonAmy Yup, its Harmony.
Jenna was Ellie Eyeballs on the HIT Show "YOU" on NETFLIXX!!
You forgot Wednesday's "Howdy Pilgrim" is a subtle nod to John Wayne.
Eu simplesmente amo a cena dos peregrinos de Cristina Ricci.
4:53 is that Margaret Hamilton, the actress that came out in the original wizard of Oz she was the wicked witch? I was looking at her. like wait a minute that sounds it looks just like her.
That was her.
She was also Cora the maxwell house coffee lady
Yes
I loved the part wen thing flipped off Tyler 😂😂😂
Story goes that Jenna did not ask Christina for any character notes
It's Jenna
@@takitogoestoNY oops.
I absolutely love the new Wednesday serious but I also wish that they would have made more movies of Christine Richie cuz to me she's still the best Wednesday but I absolutely do love the newest addition she is a wonderful actress
As soon as I saw Tim Burton's name, I just knew it was going to be good. And the music!
You mean a "woeful" Wednesday
@@Daeneiracorn yeah, more or less, My friend.
Rest in peace Lisa Loring, your character namesake is in good hands.
We are literally surprised that ‘Wednesday’ is a huge success on Netflix.
She is the ultimate Aspie girl!! So awesome to see an iconic character and a woman at that, representing the ASD community!!❤
Christina Ricci played Wednesday so much better than this new one
I disagree both actors are doing a brilliant job. In their roles
Also in the dance was a move reminiscent of Tim Burton’s, Mars Attacks! When the alien disguised itself as a blond woman, it walked in a peculiar way that was duplicated in the dance.
“Two Wednesdays” a fortnight of Wednesday’s!!!
The blood dance could also refer to the blood dance in Blade !!
4:55 Another Interesting Easter Egg..
The woman playing Ophelia and Morticia’s mother is Margaret Hamilton, the original Wicked Witch of the West!
Wednesday speaking German was just hilarious 😂 so bad
I feel like they should have cast christina ricci as morticia and Johnny depp as Gomez, that would've been perfect
Well but Johnny Depp is so special that he would’ve taken too much attention away from Wednesday I think
That would have been beyond amazing!❤
No, no it really wouldn't be.
The lady dropping off the hitch hiker is a nod to Large Marge from Pee Wee's Big Adventure and Wednesday's costume from the Poe Cup is Catwoman from Burton's Batman movies.
I'm 33 now actually when Wednesday went viral I knew it ,,, this is the Adams Family cartoon back in 90s 😂 when I was a kid I remember this 🥰
something you missed was I believe in episode 7 where she takes the bunny stuffy of Enid's stuffy pile and after talking little to uncle fester she goes to her side of the room and drops the plush
Wednesday was born on Templar Day.
0:20 And SPOOKY :D
Today is Wednesday 😂
Top 10 marvel characters that deserve a mcu special
During the dance Wednesday bumps into Tyler before having a vision
[spoiler alert]
A hint that Tyler was the hyde because Wednesday only has vision when she accidentally touches people or things and has visions related to them
I like Christina Ricci's version of Wednesday better.

👍
There was a scene where somebody told Wednesday he thought she was kooky, and she replied she prefers to be spooky. An obvious nod to the TV show theme song.
She also emulates Morticia in the dance sequence
Mrs. Gulch. From the wizard of oz. Yeesh. Very scary.
