Just in case you need it for a K3 (2003 version): please refer to similar videos regarding 1st gen SV650, as the shifter is here mounted in a different way than the one shown here.
Do you use the trail tech vapor? If so how do you stop the slow battery drain? I’ve had to install a switch at my battery otherwise it just slowly drains. Thanks for your videos.
Wire the power to switched not the battery? It's also so low that id be surprised if it can suck down the whole bike's battery anyway? But no i dont, i have stock clusters on everything or just no cluster
Can you reposition the linkage at the spline location you pointed out to raise the position of the shift lever itself? I have adjusted the shifter position using the rod to raise it as high as it will go, but it's still very low and hard to get my foot under it sometimes. Looking for more adjustment points. Bike also has a hard time going between 2-3-4 (either shifting up or shifting down) sometimes, so I'm not sure if that's related to the adjustments in the shifter, the clutch, or something more serious.
absolutely, you either have it set on the wrong tooth, or you have the wrong shift rod. the goal with the linkage is that it's at 90 degrees to the rod, so that it provides the maximum actuation in both directions
I've removed my circlip, the washer but for love nor money will my lever actually come off the pin. Its genuinely like they're welded together.. Leverage from behind just makes me think the pin will snap.. Any ideas?
@@Mad8vCycles thanks for the reply. Attacked it again this morning. Had to take the whole bracket off and hit it with a hammer until it came off. Just seized with crap but easy once I lost mechanical sympathy 😂
removed the old one fine and found that my new shifter doesn't have a spacer and wont fit tight. ca i remove the spacer from the old one or do i need to buy a new spacer?

@@Mad8vCycles Great - thank you! I'll go back out this afternoon to see where else I can adjust.

Undo the rod first?

Did you buy the wrong year shifter? 03 has a large opening for mounting it on the peg

The back of it is a clip/nut thing. Get your hands in there and bend the shit out of it heh
