  • Between the neglected lubrication of my clutch cable and the new clip-ons, my 20-year old clutch cable needed replacement. It's not a difficult job, but there are some steps you can take that can save you time. In this video, I chose a cable specifically for aftermarket clip-ons, but the same process works for the OEM replacement. For my full write up visit ulteriormoto.com/blogs/how-to...

Awesome thanks for the help man! What clip ons are you running g for your handlebars? I have woodcraft and they run into the bolts on the triple tree.

I have the 35mm Rise Side Mount Adjustable Angle Clip On Riser Kit. If your rise is sufficient it should clear the triple bolts. The other option is that you can get the ones angled toward the center of the forks. In my case I have both the rise and that center orientation. If you go with the center orientation, you probably want the short bars because you can’t slide them through the bar clamps like you can with the angled mounts.

Good timing with this. I have just got one of these from Zoran. What product did you use to lubricate the cable? Do you have a quick turn throttle? This would be a good install to see👍🏻

Perfect! I used the Motion Pro Cable Luber V3. Check out my other videos and you will see a review/how to for that on my other bike. It's exactly the same on the SV.
Yes, I do have a quick turn throttle I picked up from Spears. That was a great mod and super easy. Slide the rubber cover off the throttle cable housing, unscrew the two screws holding the housing together. You'll see how the cables attach, similar to the clutch cable. Just remove them, slide the old tube off, and put the new one on. Reverse the process to reassemble and you're done. Might take 15 minutes max.
