    Topwater, most exciting way to catch any kind of fish. Can't wait to see you hook a big redfish on one soon, I have confidence in your skills that it will happen. Thanks for sharing.

      Hi Steve, the big reds haven’t been around this year, but I keep trying. Hope you enjoyed your trip.

      It was a gorgeous day, and I had it to myself. No big fish, no problem.

      So true, I miss a lot of fish using top water, but it’s worth it.

    I couldn’t agree more. I was fishing that mullet side yesterday. Every cast had them jumping. No bites.
    Stop by the shop, buddy. I have a few things in here you will like.

    Thanks for posting the water temperature.
    Please do that every vid along with wind direction.
    Mullet are thick,lots of small fish.
    Gulf side has been the worst weeds/Sargassum I have ever seen.
    Tight lines

      Hi Steve, my neighbor said the same about the gulf. I can’t beach fish anymore, a bad knee prevents walking in sand. Thanks for watching.

    New subscriber, thanks! - do you mind recommending a lure or two for kayak fishing in that area?

      Thanks for subscribing. Top water is effective in the early morning and my favorite is the Chug Bug in the larger size. I also like shallow running plugs that mimic the finger mullet, but I primarily fish with soft plastics. My favorite plastics are Z Man Jerk shad (Electric Chicken), Z Man Trout Trick (Shrimp Po’ Boy), ZMan MinnowZ (Pearl). My go to and absolute favorite lure, and the one that has been the most productive is the Mirrolure Marsh Minnow (Salt and Pepper with Chartreause tail). I also use ProCure on all non-scented lures. I hope this helps you and good luck.

    I've been studying your retrieval speed and noticed I have been retrieving my lures too fast. Have you noticed more fish entering into the shallows from the ocean or the Bay .

    • @JAllredFishing
      @JAllredFishing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@randyrocket25 Because the areas I fish are mainly grass, I like to move my lure just fast enough to touch the top of the grass. Trout will hide in the grass and ambush unsuspecting baitfish. It takes a little practice to get it right. It has been an odd summer, read my comment to Mr Parmer. Thanks for watching.

    Another good day of fishing, Mr. Allred. I guess it's been 5 years or more since my wife and I met you and your wife that day at Big Lagoon SP. Been watching you ever since. I was wanting to ask, do you ever get Spanish Mack. there in Big Lagoon?

    • @JAllredFishing
      @JAllredFishing  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@martinparmer Yes, there usually quite a few Spanish around from mid summer until the water temp gets in the 60’s. Nothing seems to be normal this year, I believe it is because we have had strong north winds all summer, which pushes the water into the gulf and causes lower tides and less flushing of the inshore waters. Thanks for watching.

      North Georgia, right? My memory is not so great anymore.
