Rafael is a bundle of love and fun!

Meet Rafael! He is about 20 pounds, almost 6 months old. We think that he may be a German Shepherd / Lab mix, but with rescue, it's always a guess! He is not a big guy though and we do not think that he will be. This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place.
Rafael is living in a foster home with 4 others dogs and they are many sizes and ages and he does great with them all. He is the only puppy and he does not mind at all. He plays, runs and enjoys his toys. When the other dogs want to run and play he joins in and even starts the game. He doesn't know he is a little guy and it is rather funny when he is playing with the bigger dogs. Rafael is also a lover of people of all sizes so he is willing to join any family no matter the size.
Here are the rescue, Raphael met a kitty, and we believe he’s cat tolerant, and could live with dog savvy kitties.
Rafael is also very much a snuggler and a couch potato in training. If you want to spend the day watching movies, sports or reading a book Rafi will gladly hang out with you. He enjoys his naps and he plays great by himself. If your idea of a great day is taking a long ride to take in the sights...Don't worry Rafael does great in the cars and loves to see new things. Outside adventures your thing he would love to join you a hike or a shopping spree. What I am trying to say is this boy is up for anything.
Rafael is one of those bonus size dogs. He will do great in an apartment or a house. Since he is on the smaller size he does not require a lot of space. A yard for him to run and play in is a bonus but definitely not required. He is fully house and kennel trained so don't be concerned if you need to leave him at home. He enjoys resting in his kennel with chew toys too. He will gladly wait for you to return to take him on his next big adventure.
Rafael is a dog in training so he would love it if you could teach him anything new. He is currently learning how to walk on a leash without being scared of things like bikes or skaters going by. He is doing very well. He is also trying to get sit but he still gets a little excited about the treats or special attention so he isn't an expert yet. With a little patience and a lot of love I know he will be able to tackle it.
Although Rafael is still young he does not chew anything but his toys and maybe sticks if he finds them. He is very social with other dogs and people and old enough to walk around your neighborhood, park or take to an outside restaurant. He gives out kisses too so I hope you like people because he will make you many new friends. So if you ask me this little guy has just about everything. The only thing he is missing is YOU! Rafael really wants a family of his own.
