Thanks for uploading this! I have the same exact noise on my ‘21 STI. Going to take a look tomorrow and see if it’s something similar. I also saw another video of a legacy that just needed some silicone lubricant sprayed where some rubber was on the seat rails. I’ll update tomorrow…
Awesome! I was thinking this or the buckle was the issue, now I know what to look for. Now if only the dashboard was as consistently quiet as I'd expect it to be on a $32k car...
There’s also a plastic lumbar support in the backrest that makes noise too. Mine was loose. Reaching up there and pushing it in place better also helps. Or just remove it completely.
Yikes- that sounds awful and would drive me crazy. Hope you fixed it for good. I've had my '22 for about 9 months now and have not had this happen so far. Great seats IMO.
I have a 23 wrx base , getting ready to pull the seat out but for a different problem .There are metal bars in the bottom bolsters that press into my thighs .Needed to see how hard it was to remove the seat and access it.Thanks
Randomly every so often. But usually for only a few seconds. Never seems consistent enough to try and take in and haven’t felt like taking apart again.
Thank you for sharing. I've recently started getting this same squeak on my 2020 WRX with only 25k miles on it. Will be this weekend's car project!!

I'm having the EXACT same squeak come from my 2016 WRX driver's seat, gonna take a look at those parts when I get home, thanks!

Great tip, thanks man!
I have the same sound on my brand new 22 WRX. Started squeaking after only 3 weeks of owning it

Same here 😢
It's been 7 months. Any update?
Wow, I thought I was the only lucky person. 2022 29k miles and it is driving me crazy
So why not dealership?
ALL HAIL JOE H!!!
Did the noise ever come back? Mine makes the same exact sound but the dealer wont fix it because my car is lowered and they said thats the reason why

Haha take it to the dealer. It's a brand new car.
I was going to but they were backed up a couple weeks, and they noise was driving me crazy. If it returns I will.
Come fix mine now. Lol
