2022 WRX Seat Creaking Fix
มุมมอง 3.6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
I have been having a constant creaking rattling noise coming from my driver seat. Instead of just taking to the dealer I took the seat apart to figure out what was causing it first.

I may not have the same problem but video very useful so I can deep clean the inside dropped alot of food inside😅
ALL HAIL JOE H!!!
So why not dealership?
2023 WRX. Same issue... ffs. Thank you for the video. 🫡
There’s also a plastic lumbar support in the backrest that makes noise too. Mine was loose. Reaching up there and pushing it in place better also helps. Or just remove it completely.
Wow, I thought I was the only lucky person. 2022 29k miles and it is driving me crazy
Thank you for sharing. I've recently started getting this same squeak on my 2020 WRX with only 25k miles on it. Will be this weekend's car project!!
Thanks!! My seat started to make the same exact noise.
I have a 23 wrx base , getting ready to pull the seat out but for a different problem .There are metal bars in the bottom bolsters that press into my thighs .Needed to see how hard it was to remove the seat and access it.Thanks
Thanks for uploading this! I have the same exact noise on my ‘21 STI. Going to take a look tomorrow and see if it’s something similar. I also saw another video of a legacy that just needed some silicone lubricant sprayed where some rubber was on the seat rails. I’ll update tomorrow…
Same here 😢
Come fix mine now. Lol
Did the noise ever come back? Mine makes the same exact sound but the dealer wont fix it because my car is lowered and they said thats the reason why
Randomly every so often. But usually for only a few seconds. Never seems consistent enough to try and take in and haven’t felt like taking apart again.
Awesome! I was thinking this or the buckle was the issue, now I know what to look for. Now if only the dashboard was as consistently quiet as I'd expect it to be on a $32k car...
It's been 7 months. Any update?
I'm having the EXACT same squeak come from my 2016 WRX driver's seat, gonna take a look at those parts when I get home, thanks!
Sounds crap👎
Wow. You consistently hit 15 psi boost. Mine, stock marks at 15.4 psi max boost. However, consistently, it'll hit 10.5 boost. I see yours, marks up at 18.4 psi Max boost. 3.0 psi difference. Mine takes a 5.0 psi downfall. Your Subi sounds great. I wish I could test mine next to yours.
Thanks it’s tuned on the intake ots map from Felix Performance
You’re really getting 15.4 PSI stock? I’ve only seen 12-13 from stock cars. You have a ringer.
@bayareanational Had a ringer.Imagine waking up. 5am you're on the way to work 20mil away from home. 10 minutes from work, you lose your 2022 Limited Trim WRX due to a T- Bone car accident, and it wasn't your fault. This happened to me on March 21st, 2023, after owning the car for only 6 months and having driven it for 3.2k miles. My dream car, intended to be my 1st build, gone because of someone lack of patience behind the wheel. I'm a miracle brotha. I'm fortunate to have survived the accident. I'm still going thru rehab, therapy, and the healing process. This week, I've been learning how to walk again. Soon, I'll be transitioning from a wheelchair to a walker. The last 3 months have been humbling. I went from having my entire life together. Debt free, financially stable, dream car, great life. All gone due to a reckless driver.
I have the same sound on my brand new 22 WRX. Started squeaking after only 3 weeks of owning it
I have a '22 and I have to say the cold start is pretty obnoxious! lol not sure why anybody would want a louder exhaust.
I have no idea. Personally the noise does nothing for me and I would prefer if the car was quieter.
Dude I have the same noise and it’s driving me nuts. Was almost goons take it to service for warranty fix
Haha take it to the dealer. It's a brand new car.
I was going to but they were backed up a couple weeks, and they noise was driving me crazy. If it returns I will.
Yikes- that sounds awful and would drive me crazy. Hope you fixed it for good. I've had my '22 for about 9 months now and have not had this happen so far. Great seats IMO.
Great tip, thanks man!
hey, i just installed mine, did you get a rattling noise coming from your headers by any chance??
Do you have a stock or aftermarket overpipe? With the plm overpipe it rattled on the subframe.
@@wrbWRX i have a stock overpipe, and still have a rattle noise
Josh Hernandez if it’s the overpipe hitting the subframe try a set of poly exhaust hangers. It helped mine. If it’s not the overpipe hitting double check everything is tight.
