Excellent review! I placed an order for my Mantis X a few days ago. It should arrive any day now. Is there anyway you can show a video on how to change the gear oil and lube the chain? And what kind or brands to use. Thank you! Once again, thank you for your review on this bike.
Thank you Pat for putting this E-moto through its paces and saying it LIKE it IS 🙌🤘; like others I already knew about the Battery/Low Amp/hour/Range shortcomings (at $3K Rawr had to CUT *somewhere* lol 😉) but for your readership I was looking for you to be UPFRONT and you CERTAINLY were 👍😈🙌; solid review, 🔥LIKED🔥, and I’m looking forward to listening through your older and upcoming material 🙌👍😈🔥…
Thank you for all the great info on this bike! Will be getting one soon. Do you know how many watts the charger pulls? Want to use my 800 watt inverter generator to charge the battery while camping. Thanks
Pat is there room for a larger battery down the road or is it limited space like the xxx. One of the rides I do 3 times a month is 30 plus miles with breaks often on my xxx I'm wanting to upgrade it to 72v with the new luna float seat or just get a pro ss but will see what the winter holds. Excellent vid looks like an amazing ride w great views
@@PatOutdoors yeah I want to upgrade my xxx or get the pro ss the price would be the same for either option except a modded xxx would hand the ss it's ass on the street anyway. Truth be told the ventus 1 v2 would be perfect all the way around bit far out of my price range
Depends on your state laws and regulations. But it does come with an off road paper title (like a traditional dirt bike) and a VIN stamped on the frame. It’s possible for me (in VA) to add a functional brake lamp, turn signals, and DOT street tires, have it inspected, and registered as a street-legal “moped.” But every state is different.
xxx for street and mantis for offroad. the xxx sucks offroad. I had mine for 4k miles but its not made for offroading so I stuck to street and got something else for offroad
@@Psnacount I had a pedal kit on my surron, then I took it off because it felt like it barely moved the bike and not worth the added weight. I bought a pedal kit for my x3 and returned it for the same reason. Makes sense for those worried about cops, but not for everyone 🤷🏾♂️

lol pretty soon. I just confirmed there was gear oil in the lower unit. I also swapped out the plastic prop for an aluminum one. Also got a HUGE 100AH battery for all day testing
You think its a good bike for me if lm 6foot 3 tall? it Look like Big enuf bike And slitly biger than talaria 3x. And if not you recomend some other bikes around theat price for 3k.
@@r1ky527 There is no other bike that’s BIGGER than a Talaria XXX for $3,000 besides this one. You could go with an MX3 or MX4, but that’s quite a bit more with 60v battery. This sits about 2” taller than my XXX so it’s better suited for taller rider in comparison
Hey Pat So I need a bike that gets me back about 30 mi at night once or twice a week. I was thinking about getting the motor goat v3 but I read is to tall for me I'm 5'5. There's this other bike I saw I forgot the name but it basically has this huge brakes in the back and the front. But the guy that review it wasn't that happy with it. Now I'm looking at this dirt bike what are your thoughts about it because the older bikes were regular e-bikes not dirty bikes?
you would be much better off with a regular ebike like that motor goat or something else if you’re looking for a road commuter and need 30+ miles of range. These electric dirt bikes are more geared for torque and for having fun off road rather than range, and road-worthiness.
To me it seems like you glossed over that rear suspension or maybe I should have said the lack of rear suspension. This is the reason the Electric cycle rider was saying that this bike would be better for on road use both because of the light frame and the lack of rear suspension. Glad you like it but now there there is an MX5 there will be great deals on the MX4 which would be more in the same price range as this. you are fortunate that you can have a few different bike but most of us will ahvde to buy one bike to do everything we need and I just don't think this is it.
ECR hasn't tested this bike, they only had the older Mantis. Not only does this bike have rear suspension clearly but it's at a much better angle than all the other e-motos. It's a little soft though so you won't be doing crazy jumps on it but neither will you on the other bikes without mods.
@@PatOutdoors No, I was thinking less but I guess I was exaggerating. I still would not buy a Rawrr no matter what. I really don't think it is a good bike. It is more at home on the street!
I have never did over 20 miles yet in one riding session 30 + miles is crazy seat time 🪫 s/o to yall who can ride all day like that my average is probably 5-6 miles per ride unless I’m commuting it’s more like 10 miles.
thanks for the review great vid
We need a comparison between the talaria x3 and this bike. I’m torn between those two
So Mantis X or Talaria XXX for 80% pavement?
If your pavement riding is more than 25 miles and you like to cruise above 40 MPH, then Talaria XXX. If range isn't an issue, Rawrr Mantis X
Great video, went out for a ride with the mantis today and ripped down some new trails.

I got the Mantis and I only ride in Eco 2 and push Sport when needed or go to 3. I can go 50 in ECO 2. A great way to conserve battery.
