With no Smoker his journey to the Grand Line is much easier, then when he gets to the halfway point of the Grand Line it seems like fortune shined on them again: Black and his crew look (apparently) like Luffy and the Straw Hats, and with the real Straw Hat crew missing for over a year Black seems to be in the perfect situation to capitalize again. If Luffy hadn't shown up Black's final plan would likely have been to mimic Buggy; build up a very dangerous and competent crew who fear and love him and who will carry his ass towards a cushy life.
tbh the world goverment would jump at the opportunity to show the world that they 'domesticated' straw hat luffy, so shichibukai demaro black with a buggy-like mercenary service could have actually happened
One other detail on that, the route through Paradise is more or less random when working with the standard log pose. So it wasn't just the real Straw Hats that cleared the way. It was the entire worst generation that basically cleared out all of the routes in the first half of the Grand Line all at once. Which actually, kind of explains Bartolomeo's crew's quick progress despite Bartolomeo being the only strong member of his crew as well.

That after he took up residence in the east blue it didn't ever go up further. I think Arlong's bounty is just very low for his strength.

Basically what was missing was a timeframe (do you want Sabo to hit the sound barrier in one minute or one hour?); everything else can be calculated, but if you want to hit the sound barrier in one minute then you’ll need a lot more propelling force (thrust) per second than if you took your time and did it in an hour. However, it’s essentially the same amount of thrust, just released faster or slower. It basically becomes a question of, not how much power it would take, but how fast that power has to be pumped out. The same holds true for hitting orbital velocity.

He was using Usopp's schtick of lying to 'fake it until you make it' and he actually not only got a bounty, but somehow made it the entire way across the grand line to the Saobondy Archipelago. Usopp never even left his island until Luffy came along. xD This being despite the fact I'm pretty sure Usopp could've beaten Demaro Black even back in the East Blue before he had any of his newer tools.

I think the main goal was to use the straw hat name and reputation to trick islands into surrendering their treasures and supplies to them. This could work in the east blue/grand line, but to take it to the new world would require having actual muscle to back it up as new world pirates are a step above. So they recruited various pirates looking to make it to the new world, again, using luffys relatively huge bounty as a bluff, then would likely spend the time after that attacking islands that dont surrender with the recruit crews with the justification of, "Well, we could handle this easy, but you guys need the experience, go take that island and crush its defenses." The goal was to fight as little as possible, use demarcos triple tongue skills to bluff his way into stripping islands of whatever they want, while using his recruited muscle when they do have to fight, and live a fairly easy life getting rich that way. Probably vanish once they gather enough loot to make retirment a possibility. As for recruiting the fake straw hats, its entirely possible oda went oceans 11 on us and decided that con men tend to know each other. Demarco went and collected the best he could find who could match the crew as close as possible and promised them big money and low risk on a long con. "Look, the straw hats havent been seen in a year, they probably got wiped out in a storm or something. Their names and reputation are still known though, and we can use that to trick entire islands into giving us what we want." It worked more or less all the way to sabaody, then demarco got greedy and went, "Hey, we can probably recruit a bunch of these wannabe new worlders to work for us. That way we can take bigger and more profitable targets because we will have a fleet of pirates working for "straw hat luffy" then once we get enough, we vanish in the night, head back to east blue, and retire under new names somewhere nice and peaceful."

Basically what was missing was a timeframe (do you want Sabo to hit the sound barrier in one minute or one hour?); everything else can be calculated, but if you want to hit the sound barrier in one minute then you’ll need a lot more propelling force (thrust) per second than if you took your time and did it in an hour. However, it’s essentially the same amount of thrust, just released faster or slower.
It basically becomes a question of, not how much power it would take, but how fast that power has to be pumped out. The same holds true for hitting orbital velocity.

my favorite scene from one piece to rewatch is the scene when demaro black gets revealed as a fake and then everyone notices that Luffy is actually there and him, Zoro, and Sanji beat up some pacifistas.

Something I noticed when watching this is how in universe they only had the bounty posters to go on and nothing else, like fake namis shirt having purple dots or fake sanjis puffy hair, just a little detail I think makes them a bit better
You know, gotta give Demaro *SOME* credit. He was using Usopp's schtick of lying to 'fake it until you make it' and he actually not only got a bounty, but somehow made it the entire way across the grand line to the Saobondy Archipelago. Usopp never even left his island until Luffy came along. xD This being despite the fact I'm pretty sure Usopp could've beaten Demaro Black even back in the East Blue before he had any of his newer tools.

Keep in mind, Arlong's bounty was most likely kept purposefully low due to having Captain Nezumi on his payroll, thereby keeping news of his atrocities in Cocoyashi purposefully on the downlow from the World Government and by extension keeping his bounty low (possibly at or around the level it was when he was a member of the Sun Pirates).
Also, My headcanon is that Demaro Black was the One Piece equivalent of Anthony Gignac, the Real Life scam artist who pretended to be a member of the Saudi Royal Family to get free hotel rooms and other expensive things by placing it on "The Royal Tab". Demaro was most likely this only with impersonating World Nobles/High ranking Marines.

I believe he absorbed a person..... Bad ikr. I think he absorbed a person and here’s my one little piece of evidence. Remember when after the bar fight scene when black beard does his speech. He said “The drinks sure taste good today”. I believe he said that. But remember in the bar he said the drinks were bad and the pies were good. I think the main goal was to use the straw hat name and reputation to trick islands into surrendering their treasures and supplies to them. This could work in the east blue/grand line, but to take it to the new world would require having actual muscle to back it up as new world pirates are a step above. So they recruited various pirates looking to make it to the new world, again, using luffys relatively huge bounty as a bluff, then would likely spend the time after that attacking islands that dont surrender with the recruit crews with the justification of, "Well, we could handle this easy, but you guys need the experience, go take that island and crush its defenses." The goal was to fight as little as possible, use demarcos triple tongue skills to bluff his way into stripping islands of whatever they want, while using his recruited muscle when they do have to fight, and live a fairly easy life getting rich that way. Probably vanish once they gather enough loot to make retirment a possibility.
As for recruiting the fake straw hats, its entirely possible oda went oceans 11 on us and decided that con men tend to know each other. Demarco went and collected the best he could find who could match the crew as close as possible and promised them big money and low risk on a long con. "Look, the straw hats havent been seen in a year, they probably got wiped out in a storm or something. Their names and reputation are still known though, and we can use that to trick entire islands into giving us what we want." It worked more or less all the way to sabaody, then demarco got greedy and went, "Hey, we can probably recruit a bunch of these wannabe new worlders to work for us. That way we can take bigger and more profitable targets because we will have a fleet of pirates working for "straw hat luffy" then once we get enough, we vanish in the night, head back to east blue, and retire under new names somewhere nice and peaceful."

A theory i have about black beard. You know he can like use 2 devil fruit. The most popular theory is that he eat a cerberus fruit so he can use the other 2 devil fruit. But you know that the weird thing is that why before eating the quake fruit, he can use both dark fruit in both hands and after eating quake he can only use yami in the right hand and quake on the left hand (from my observation so far)?? Shouldn't black beard can use both fruit at both hands freely? So here is my theory, blackbeard never have any unique constitution, any cerberus fruit, or eat other devil fruit!
So how did teach use quake fruit you may ask? I introduce you all to Dr Vegapunk. Vegapunk was the one who create the artificial devil fruit. He also the one who managed to infuse a devil fruit into a weapon so the weapon can use devil fruit powers (you all can wiki this). If weapons could be infused with devil fruit power, why can't you infuse it into, let say blackbeard's ring? I know it sound crazy but you guys know that yami/dark fruit can negate others devil fruit power. Because teach is infusing quake fruit to his ring on the left hand, he can't use his yami fruit power on his left hand or he gonna negate the quake fruit powers in the ring.
Just a quick note. Arlong was paying the Rat Marine to keep his bounty low, i think thats the only reason Fake Luffy had a higher bounty.
