Plenty of sad moments, but tears of joy are rare.
Won a national championship as a kid. My daughters birth. My mother singing to herself when she thought no one was listening. The Kings winning the Stanley Cup....🥺
I wish I was more dialed into hockey back in 2012 and 2014, I watched but not a close as I do today.

Despite cheering for every team in LA, except Galaxy and Clippers, I’m actually a Cubs fan. Long story on why I am lol but I never thought I’d see the Cubs win a World Series.. seeing the Cubs win it all, was truly one of the best things in my life.
As far as I'm concerned, the 2011-12 Kings is one of the greatest, probably top 5 stories in all of sports. I don't know how it is that they didn't make a movie out of this season especially that you have some real characters like Lombardi and Sutter and the guys on the ice who were all memorable people with big personalities. I wasn't surprised at all that they won that year. I knew that team had the ingredients but just needed to get in the playoffs, and they barely squeaked in. Those years where the Kings were winning and making runs they were never a great regular season team, which goes to show you that the regular season and the po are a totally different animal and why I don't really go crazy when they get a few wins in a row. Obviously, the 2013-14 run was itself quite the story having to win 3 game 7s and the whole Park and Ride ordea. Those were fun years to be a hockey fan.

I still don’t think the Quick trade was good. Sure we got Gavrikov who is a decent defenseman but overall it wasn’t worth it. It was supposed to be Kopitar, Brown, Doughty, and Quick, the original 4 that were supposed to join and retire for the Kings. Rob Blake likes to talk a lot about family in the organization but I still think how is that family like? For a guy to talk so much about the Kings being a family and loyalty but demanding to be traded when he was a player on the Kings continually… not a good look. Also makes sense why he chose PLD, looking at himself in the mirror I suppose. Not a great taste to bring Quick back to put his name in the rafters after that move.
Aside from that, love watching the show Eddie!

My first Kings game was in 1981, I was a huge Dave Taylor fan, and by the time I was in my later 20’s I figured we would never win a cup 😂
So, 2012 was the best year of my life.
I absolutely had my cake and in 2014 added a ton of icing 😁🏒
