I think the PLD fiasco affected the Kings more than we know. I watched every game last season and with the exception of the road win streak the Kings made a ton of stupid mistakes. They looked lackadaisical and sometimes flat out disinterested. I blame a lot of that on PLD. He's been a cancer since making it to the NHL and I truly believe he affected the chemistry in the locker room. Now, you can't blame everything on one player, but chemistry means something in hockey more so than other sports I think. Kings will be better this year than people think.

Every GM makes mistakes, not every GM can fix or try to fix mistakes they make. Is there some amazing GM out there without a job? This is a tough league where half the league doesn't make the playoffs. My only gripe is spending to the cap, but most of the league does, even some of the rebuilding teams have. The Doom and gloom doesn't help anyone.

Good players usually cant be a coach and yet probably cant be a gm either… playing hockey and making money moves are two different things… don’t matter if he’s a good guy or was a good player… he just can’t get it done as a gm and that’s just plane n simple… we need changes here.. Blake you might have been a good player and a great guy but we ain’t gonna suck you off.. three years in a row is like hell.. #GKG

Am I the only person who thought Roy wasn't great last year? We should've moved him at the deadline, I'm guessing he was a part of the Ulmark trade that didn't get done.

I was a proponent of moving Roy for picks/future assets/whatever at the trade deadline instead of losing him for nothing as well but knew it would never happen with them battling for a playoff spot.
Again, Blake's cap mismanagement tied the organization's hands in this regard and his supporters refuse to see as much.

Good to hear people are now deciding to defend Rob Blake! Rob Blake is a wonderful fellow. I met him back in 2008 when he was still a player. And overall! He’s my All-Time Hockey Hero. And to this day! I’m still dedicated to him for NHL Fandom. Anyone who badmouths Rob Blake & feel he should go I discount those words. He doesn’t deserve to be treated like that. Those that believe he does are confusing him with the Head of the NCAA. In fact! Giving how I’m so dedicated to Rob Blake! If he needed a fan who would stand up with him to those who have badmouthed him! I’d be more than happy to be that fan to stand by him. Especially if I could be a possible friend to him if I could! And I’ll end by saying! I’ve been to his Birth Town! And for a small town! There along with anywhere else in Canada I got to go are way better than the US State I live & from.

I don't dislike Blake, but the fact is he has made some outrageously bad moves and has not made this team better. This is a business, not a popularity contest.
You also sound more like a stalker than a fan. Lol

Easy way to prove the Blake slamming is fake outrage, is almost all the Blake slammers never look at the whole picture and instead cherry pick negative moves, especially illuminating, never celebrate the good moves he makes. To think every trade is gonna be a win and you always pull the other guys pants down is fiction, a pipe dream.
On average, half the trades you get your pants pulled, and the other half you pull the other guys pants down and I almost NEVER see the bashers take this into account, instead they are myopic and only focused on when Rob gets his pants pulled as to create a whole false narrative to repeat and grow and seethe over.
Its sick, and ruins the fan atmosphere, and to mention, how many newer fans it will surely spoil and turn away. Apparently, according to the money guys, the Kings have a really good chance to make the playoffs, and crickets to that, and crickets from all the fans who wanted more grit. Hypocrisy.
Finally, wow, where can I get one of those crystal balls the bashers seem to have? All that, and I am not a big fan of Blake, I'm mostly neutral. I write this because the atmosphere is toxic around this incessant vitriol. Ok, you don't like him, his kids, his dog, whatever, get past it and maybe stop the dark, knee-jerk merry-go-round, talk about something else. Being positive is a choice and a skill. Stress kills. Work on it a little if you want to be happy. Learn to meditate. I WANT to be a part of this, but the unnecessary level of negativity is really mood sapping and unappealing.

The day the Ducks show progress and start making the playoffs and advancing in them will be the day the Blake supporters finally wake up.
Ducks are trying to rebuild the only way you can in the salary cap era, by tanking multiple consecutive seasons so that your team has multiple highly drafted skilled picks to build around.
Kings kept trying to patch the leaking holes in the sinking ship after their 2 Cup wins and are now stuck in a state of mediocrity (yes, even with Byfield and Clarke.)
Blake was looking good until the Kings made the playoffs three seasons ago when their defensive corps was decimated by injuries and then Blake rushed the process by bringing in all these veterans unnecessarily. That's when Blake screwed the pooch and lost my faith.
Some fans think the team having the point totals the last 3 seasons they've had say contrary to this but what does that really say about the Kings when they've had 3 of their best seasons in a row points wise and have looked shellshocked in the playoffs when they are lead by two Cup veterans that are aging out fast and were surrounded by veterans for the most part as well? Blake went all-in WAY TOO SOON.

The bottomline is that Blake only builds a team to be beaten in the first round. Blake hasn’t and won’t build an elite NHL team that is a top 8 out of 32 teams. Blake is not even close to building a top 4 team in the league. The current roster are not going to win a cup because other teams are more skilled and powerful in all ways and metrics.
Kings fans ought to just reconcile they have a mediocre team that makes round one and is knocked out.
