      @@TheGarageGoblin thanks! Do you think I should change the old bolts for ARP On my connecting rods? I wanted to do main bolts too but my knowledge isn't that huge so I just left them alone.

    Is there no o ring anywhere for the oil pump Bc I just did this about a month ago and I’m getting low pressure again but it goes up and down a lot and up when I slow down? I don’t remember seeing a o ring when I did it myself

    Hehehe…, looks like easy …. when the engine is outside
    but my 383 engine is still in my IROC…😵‍💫., I can not remove the oil pan…. , engine out or remove the k -member ( I need a hp pump , have low oil pressure when the engine is hot ) ..,,

    Never use a Melling 55 (today made in China) oil pump! They break in parts, get a Moroso or Summit high flow pump! Better use a soft thin flat copper shim gasket between oil pump and main cap! You cant weld cast to steel....you need a clamp for securing the oil pump pickup to the body...can find it at Summit.

      Melling not so good …?
      I have a Stock ( New ) inside …. i have low oil pressure when the engine is hot ….
      Engine ( 383 is build 2015 ) … from first day … low oil pressure… hmmmmm,

    If the oil pick up is set to low,would that give you bad or low oil pressure?

    • @TheGarageGoblin
      @TheGarageGoblin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unlikely, unless the oil pickup is sucking up dirt / sludge in the bottom of the oil pan and causing a clog. That clog could move into the oil galleys of your engine and could be potentially catastrophic. If you’re having low oil pressure definitely may end up needing to clean out the engine.

    🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 you need to measure not just push the pan down over it and then push it down whatever feels good .... tack welding does not always work because you are welding cast iron to steel
