The Skaventide box has a 272 page hardcover core book but the core book says 288 pages? Does anyone know the difference?

I think it might be because the spearhead stuff is in a separate book. Not sure though

Movement demo for fly would be nice. Im guessing its still just as bad as 40k where its actually worse to charge around ontop and down a building instead of around lol. (Its diagonal measurement im guessing still)
    Great review!

I really wish that they had not made color alone apparently a distinguishing, important rule feature with no further indication. A little icon or the word "shooting"/"combat" would be nice, because they also chose red and green to denote Melee and Shooting abilities, with the same exact value, which to someone who is red-green color blind like me (and 10% of male humans) I can in no way differentiate those two colors.
So I read Yndrasta's scroll, and it looks like she has an ability that doubles the damage of her weapons against monsters. People tell me this works only in melee because it is red colored. I have no way to distinguish that if I read the rules.
Hearing that movement phase is actually gray clears up a lot of things too, because I can't see the difference between 3 of the colors.

I think you are right. It's a passive attack ability, and it doesn't say it is locked to the Combat Phase. A model like the Spirit of Durthu, in their passive +1 to hit when within range of a Wyldwood, has a clear sentence that says ''combat attacks'' pointing towards the passive only being in effect during the Combat Phase. It could be a little more clear though, that is true.
But I think a bit of logical thinking would go a long way too. ''Why would a spear against monsters suddenly not double damage when being thrown versus when it is used in close combat like an on-and-off switch?'' it would be a silly question indeed.

Its been confirmed that the colors don’t dictate when a rule can be used if it can be used in multiple phases, just when it’s most-likely to be used. It’s just an extra feature, not the way the rule works.

Sounds fun, but just like 40k combat patrol, the spearhead detachments are designed to "encourage" (force) people to buy newer models or models they most likely will not have if they played a specific subfaction in the previous edition.

You'll be stuck playing with just your existing 3rd ed. Playgroup, as the rest of the AoS community worldwide moves along.

@@simonak9699 my group is planning on at least trying 4th edition if we don't like it or certain players armies feel to oppressive or underwhelming we'll be sticking with 3rd.
