This is hilarious in retrospect. At least Rain Johnson can world build and tell a consistent original story like in Looper and Knives Out, both of which he wrote and directed, and also direct the two most highly rated episodes of Breaking Bad, it's not like David Benioff and DB Weiss have never written anything good but their best writing came while they still had GRRM's source material and it got worse and worse as they had nothing to adapt. Also should point out that Battle of the Bastards was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, not the show runners. Get your facts straight homes!
I agree its funny in retrospect. But picking between D&D and Rian is like picking between stubbing your toe and hitting your thumb while hammering some nails. Neither are good.
@@saucytendies Have to respectfully disagree on that point - Rian Johnson wrote and directed Looper and Knives Out like I said before, both of which are by nearly all accounts well made and well written. Looper especially shows his strength at sci fi world building. Were he to have his own trilogy, all his own, it would likely follow suit and be something completely new, which in my opinion is what the series needs after the near beat for beat recreation we got from JJ Abrams and his cowriters. This is coming from someone who rewatched The Last Jedi and found it to be far better than either episode 7 or 9 in retrospect though, Luke's journey in that film is the thing of most substance in all of the sequel trilogy to me, and I also enjoyed TLoU II so perhaps we are just on two sides of a great divide of opinion. That's fine though I appreciate the willingness to discuss these things without sinking into hyperbole and vitriol. Those arguments tend to be like water on a frying pan, they sizzle loudly for a moment then dissipate into vapor, having accomplished nothing.
