LONG JUMP is coming!! The first #NSTC field event goes down tomorrow. That video drops in exactly one week! Hand autographed copies of my books can be found here: www.nicksymmonds.com/shop
Someone on my track team who is in eighth grade is incredible at long jump, he could probably win state but sadly there is no state. He jumped 20 1/2 feet at our last meet.
They let you pick any name when you get down there. And you landed in mclovin. Yea it was between fhay and Muhammad. WHY THE FUCK would it be between that and Mohammed
Haha, Nick that was great. Most former retired pro 800m runners would of chickened out to run their former event like that to save face. I respect you more for going out their and giving kids that chance to compete against an olympian at their event. Fantastic. Keep it up
800 is probably one of my favorite events to run. I just had my first high school track meet on Tuesday. I ran a 4 x 800. My time was 2:41. Then ran a mile event at 6: 45 and took. 4 out of 10 girls. I ended on just a regular 800 and got.third out of 14 girls. My time was 2:45
Thanks Nick. I am 54 and you have inspired me back on to the track after 9 years away. Aiming to get below 60s for 400m soon and hopefully improve a lot more after that.
I always get butterflies when watching people run competitively because I know what it feels like right before you run. It's so bad to the point where I won't watch Olympic running :)
Love the production of these videos! You have a drone and multiple cameras around the track catching great views. I also like the commentary during the races. Thanks for giving a new place to watch track and field!
My sunday has become a very strict routine these days of making sure to watch Nicks latest video then going out for a run after being inspired to try to better myself. Keep up the great work!
This is pretty awesome. He is great at motivating people. He is a great coach makes us all want to be there to run on his events and train with that team
Ehh... I'm a 2:16 800 runner (yes i know im slow, shush) and I definitely can't go sub 5 in the mile... but kudos to that dad being more than twice my age and keeping up with everyone
I promise 5 minutes isn't happening. That weight is exponentially harder to move around that track the longer the distance... I think I'm still coughingfrom that run. Doesn't mean I won't try to get to 5
I watched this video and looked up the world record run for the 800m. I could t believe my eyes when I saw Nick in the race. He does have an awesome kick. He went from last to about 5th or six on the last 100m.
I thought it was great that even though Nick ran in the greatest ever 800m race he puts himself out there to be beaten by kids. Also love the way he encourages everyone.
Nick Symmonds going from a mid 1:40s runner to 2:16 is helping me come to terms with the fact that I am completely washed in running now lol. Used to run low 1:50, now I'd probably struggle to run 2:20-2:30. But if even one of the best 800 runners ever moves on eventually then I guess that's just the way it is.
