    Since Josh Rosen was picked 9th, he won't be up there with Jamarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf as the biggest busts of all time, but honestly with how horrible and cocky he was, he should be included. That's just my opinion. And you can't say he hasn't had chances because he's had plenty.

      Hard agree, he is honestly one of the top 5 worst QBs I've seen play in recent memory. 4 of the 7 teams (!) he's played for since he's been drafted he didn't even sniff the field. As somebody who was drafted to be a team's new franchise QB and is out of the NFL already, Josh Rosen should be considered up there with Leaf and Jamarcus as an all-time bust 🤢

    I’ll never forget I couldn’t understand HOW Rosen crashed and burned so miserable in Arizona..then I saw an interview during the following offseason in Miami where he basically said, “it doesn’t matter if I’m getting first team reps right now, this is going to be my team anyways.” I was like…yep..pretty much explains everything.

    It's a bit misleading to say Josh Allen turned around a team that had had only one playoff appearance in the previous 18 years, because that sole appearance was at the end of the 2017 season, in January 2018 - the same year Josh was drafted. In other words, he joined a team that was already improving. Or perhaps more accurately (as the Bills were actually worse in 2018 than the year before), he joined an organization that was already on the right track, having finally found competent coaching and management. Credit to Allen for having a career so far that most 'experts' couldn't foresee. But as we've seen with other top talents whose NFL careers never got off the ground, landing in the right environment makes all the difference between individual success and failure.

    Tampa fan here. People just don't understand how valuable Vita Vea is. Simply put, he made our pass rush happen. He doesn't get sacks because he gets double teamed every play and still drives the pocket, making it so QB's can't step up. He was our best line of scrimmage defender, even in a season where we had JPP, Suh, and 19 sack Shaq Barrett. When we lost him during our Championship year, our pass rush struggled and our team struggled. When he came back in the postseason, it was like the lights when on. Our Dline wrecked everyone, up to and including the Mahomes Chiefs.
    I mean, the dude is a 350+ pound nose tackle who is strong even for his size, yet he has the feet to get snaps at edge. You see it in the clip here. The man is an absolute monster,

    I understand the idea of not drafting a RB at the top of the draft but the giants kinda did fine.. sure running back is replacable but barkley was a bit more than that with his explosive pass catching. And i honestly think as far as impact goes the only thing that would have been better was a QB or a stud offensive lineman.

    • @TheBlackestKnight21
      @TheBlackestKnight21 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah that was a bad grade imo, no one knew what josh allen would be either

    • @maynardburger
      @maynardburger ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem with Barkley is that he's not actually that impactful on average. One big breakaway run every game or two isn't what wins games - it's efficiency, keeping the chains moving, getting those consistent 4-5 yards per run that help keep the playbook open. If your RB cant provide that, then he's a liability. And then putting a RB like him behind a lackluster OL was a double whammy of dumb, making the pick even worse. He's a highlight machine, but over the course of a game, he's not what the Giants needed at all. For a #2 overall pick, it was terrible. I think 'B' is super generous, and will look even moreso when Giants cant get much trade capital for him due to injury concerns.

    • @JohnDoe-230
      @JohnDoe-230 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@maynardburger maybe if you were watching Barkley under judge and even Shermer he was more of a big play back. Under kafka and daboll though I'll give him credit he was not dancing behind the oline much at all. He seemed like he was Consistantly getting good yardage. I think this was the best rushing attack the Giants have had in a long time. Especially when you factor how much more they ran daniel.

    • @isaactetteh5527
      @isaactetteh5527 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also to the Josh Allen point and this is no Knock on Allen but if Allen had to play behind those bad Giants Offensive lines lack of receivers/saquon and deal with shurmur/Judge as a head coach instead of daboll I don't think he is as good as he is now. I think people get to hung up on the running back value thing if you draft a player in the top 5 that is elite at his position and in 5 years helps your team win its first playoff game in a decade I think that is at least an A-

We thought we were getting a steal in Derrius Guice, but injuries and him being a dumbass ran him out of the league. The only other players of significance was Tim Settle, who was a solid reserve and is doing well in Buffalo, and Troy Apke, who has hung around on special teams, but has been a disappointment as a safety.

    I will stand on this hill until I die: Sam Darnold's talent was absolutely flushed down the toilet by bad coaching. All 5 years of his career. Adam Gase is terrible, and we all know this. But fewer people realize just how much Matt Rhule's quarterback coaching was a factory of sadness. He arguably ruined or at least hurt the careers of: Cam Newton, Teddy Bridgewater, Will Grier, Matt Corral, Baker Mayfield, and Sam Darnold, all in just 2 years and 5 games. The only one whose career he objectively helped is PJ Walker's, and that's only because of their prior connection at Temple and PJ's extreme dedication to the game in the XFL to get back to respectability. He plays great backup ball under any coach, because he's a grinder. Everyone else who played under him was sentenced to die. And it isn't a coincidence that once Matt Rhule was gone, Sam came in and played the best ball of his career, going 4-2 and putting up great numbers until Week 18, when absolutely nothing was at stake for either team and everyone had at that point run out of gas. Steve Wilks, an actual NFL head coach, unlike Rhule and Gase, was able to get the most out of his talents with zero prep work. Going to SF might end up saving his career because if Trey Lance doesn't pan out and Brock Purdy winds up getting injured again, I am confident this guy can go out and do what Shanahan needs him to do when called upon. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

      Agree with you. Didn't want to move on from Sam but rather try to build around him the proper way. The problem is when these high draft pick QBs move on from the team that originally drafted them, they have the "damaged goods" label and it'll very hard to turn around their careers. For instance, I still feel Arizona is pampering Kyler M, but if he gets traded to another team, then the kid gloves are off.

    I highly disagree about the Saquon Grade. If he was healthy, he is a top 5 talent all time, he runs like barry sanders, but has that receiving aspect down to a t. Saquon is basically a better CMC when healthy. He is literally what carried us last year to the playoffs, just as a top 5 draft pick qb should. Easily an A or A+ pick.

      Lamar didn’t fit in the Saints system. Davenport was “on the rise” by “draft experts” and seemed like a solid pick. His 1/2 sack last year proved 2021 was a fluke season.

    Call me a terrible person but I enjoyed the downfall of Rosen. K-state played UCLA in the Cactus bowl and even though he sat out they would nonstop talk about him and show him all throughout the game, even when plays were going on they would rather talk and show him then the actual game and it was all about how great and amazing he will be and probably win a Superbowl early in his career. (K-state won that bowl game fyi lol)

    I remember when Josh Allen was the top ranked QB by most analysts going into the draft and it seemed like the Browns were going to take him at #1. But then about 4-5 days before the draft a news report came out about how Josh Allen used a racial slur in a tweet from when he was 14 years old (I think he was quoting some rap lyrics). Then all the lunatics came out trashing him and calling him a racist and his stock took a hit. Several local reporters in Cleveland mentioned that Dorsey had Allen locked in as his #1 pick, but he ended up dropping him from his board after that report came out.
    Don't know if it was the same for the Jets, but I remember being absolutely dumbfounded when Baker's name was called with the first pick. I was hoping those reports about Dorsey dropping Allen were wrong (Dorsey was the reason why Mahomes ended up in KC after all and Allen had the skill set to be just as good as him). Baker was like the 5th rated QB in that draft, but analysts were talking him up real good in the weeks leading up to the draft itself. Dorsey would hit on several picks in that draft (Ward, Chubb) but I'll never forget how he botched that 1st pick.

      Don't remember Allen being #1 in any draft board. The battle cry was "Suck for Sam" so when Darnold fell to #3, I was ecstatic. I really wanted Allen but felt #3 was too high to pick him. Typical Jets luck, too low for 2018 and too high for 2021. But I also have no doubt if we drafted Allen, we would've screwed him up too.

      @@cc352 Yep. Nobody wanted a QB that couldn't crack 60% comp in college, myself included (Especially in a bad conference).

      I agree Dorsey botched the #1 pick. However you are wrong about Dorsey having Allen as his number one guy. Dorsey was all in on Baker from very early in the process. We outsiders had various views on who the number 1 guy should be. There was no consensus that year. Some in the Cleveland media such as Mary Cay Cabot loved Allen, others such as Terry Pluto thought Rosen (yikes) was the best. Mel Kiper loved Allen as the #1 guy. I think most had Darnold at #1. The analytics community loved Baker, which is a bit ironic since Dorsey disdained analytics in favor of football guys. Dorsey loved Baker's arm and accuracy but most of all he loved his leadership/moxie. Dorsey believed a Cleveland qb, given the history of failure, needed that kind of arrogance to be successful. It worked to an extent, until it didn't. The slur tweet had nothing to do with the Brown's selection. Again, I don't know if you are familiar with John Dorsey, but he hired a coach that the owner and analytics portion of the front office did not approve of (Freddie Kitchens) because he had final say. Dorsey was fired because he did not want to fire Kitchens or loose final say. Dorsey does not care about what non-football people think and believe. So to think that if he believed Josh Allen was his number #1 choice at qb and that he would be scared off because of alleged junior high racial slur tweets on the eve of the draft is laughable. (As a side note you believe Browns ownership could have pressured Dorsey because of possible negative public opinion about the tweet, they never would have signed Deshaun Watson.) Allen is great. The Browns got it wrong....... again. Nothing new to see here, move along.😃

    Im so glad you only rated Edmonds an “A”…. i would have probably gone with “A-“ but your rating was fair….so many ppl talk about how hes this amazing player….hes an absolute liability in run defense and above average in coverage….his loss will not be the huge loss ppl seem to think

    Kolton Miller deserves a "D" for the simple fact that no other team had him going in the 1st or 2nd rounds. So the Raiders could've drafted Edmunds or James (their biggest needs on defense) and then drafted Miller in the 3rd. Raiders are total idiots when it comes to the draft.
    Sam Darnold should be "INC" for incomplete. He'll have his best season with the Vikings and will eventually receive at least a "B."

  • @harryballsak1123

    Vita Vea only a B+ WTF are you smoking? Especially considering some of the A's you handed out. Also you overestimate the value of pro bowls. A) How many times has some older vet in his last year gotten a nod instead of younger player that deserved it just because the older player was retiring? B) How many time has popular player on popular team always on TV gets voters instead of player on a bad team that rarely is on TV in a smaller market gets ignored? C) Since players miss the pro bowl due to injury or playing in the SB or just not wanting to be in it you get 5th, 6th or 7th best players getting pro bowl nods. How are these legitimate? The 7th best starting QB out of 16 in a conference gets a pro bowl because 4 of the top 6 aren't in it and that is legit? If there was no fan voting and only the top 3 voter getters counted as legit pro bowlers you might have case for using them

    It's kind of funny you had all these excuses in the chamber for Darnold but never mentioned Arizona's organization being a historic trash fire when talking about Rosen. No one could have succeeded in that situation. Not that Rosen is good or anything, but there's really no daylight between him and Darnold.

  • @Bailark
    @Bailark ปีที่แล้ว

    Baker Mayfield is not an NFL QB. Given that the Browns could have drafted any player in that class, there is no way that the draft choice can be a "C". That goes even if Mayfield had a "C" career, which he hasn't, and won't. The draft pick should have returned a starter for ten years. Mayfield's lack of talent did not fit into the salary structure for the pick position. All that must come into consideration because, again, the Browns could have drafted anyone else. If that draft move isn't an "F", it is damned close. A "D-" is generous.
