A "church" here in Cape Coral decorated the entire sanctuary in a Super Mario Bros motif and the "pastor" started their Sunday morning service by saying "the Kingdom of God is like Super Mario Bros.".
Toy Story and Star Wars don't surprise me after seeing this madness.

I like the gimmicks that some of these churches do, but there’s a time and place for them. Sunday mornings ain’t it.
#ChurchSoup wouldn't the doctrinal content of a star Wars themed church service by a quasi-Buddhist/ Manicheanism? How do they get to Jesus from there? The only virgin born character in Star wars was a cyborg sorcerer war criminal and redemption amounts to nothing more than back stabbing your boss who is using magic lightning to fry the kid you never knew you had.

I dislike denominations (divisions). Christ didn't teach division. One God, one Savior, one salvation. If it's not a salvation issue, it doesn't bother me. If another believes differently, so be it. A Christian is a Christian, we've just different levels of understanding . Why beat each other up, while our adversaries look on laughing?
I think its time we stopped trying to attract the lost into church and pray them in. We attend a really dry boring nothing ever happens solid Baptist church that just preaches the Bible and i guess we're stuck there till Jesus returns. The entertainment will begin in Heaven.
