something that absolutely kills me about the black family lore is that sirius having ran away at 16 made regulus' and sirius' mother pressure regulus into becoming a death eater when he turned 16. regulus didn't know voldemort's true intentions and motives, and when he found out, he went against his lineage and own mother who terrified him to look for voldemort's horcrux in order to destroy it. fanon is that regulus ended up drowning getting salazar's locket, and later on, sirius had been killed by bellatrix, never knowing that his little brother regulus tried to stop voldemort and died trying to do it. regulus and sirius both died separately not knowing the good each of them had done in their own ways. i think how vague regulus' inclusion is - is very sad, as he was one very complex character who was pressured into becoming a death eater just like draco, even though that's ultimately not what he stood for.
Hermione erased her parents memories to protect them. She altered their memories to make them believe they're a childless couple with different names and sent them to live in Australia. She knew the Death Eaters would come after them for info when she didn't dhow up at school. Ron made different arrangements to protect his family as well with his Dad's help but the movie skipped that part.
Neville had always been scared. Bravery isn’t the absence of fear, it’s ignoring it for the greater good So it’s despite being scared that Neville stands up for what he believes in, which is even more admirable than someone who is never afraid at all

I haven't seen these movies since they first came out. But watching these again are reminding me of the Harry Potter Lego games. I replayed them about a year ago.
The ending is always so epic when finally all the pieces to puzzle matching coming together. I remember when I got the last book I easily made half way through and put it down because I didn't want the story to end. I waited 1 week later before I finally was ready to finish the series.

Every reaction couple I've seen so far is reacting the same way as you guys did: The guys (including me every time) go "wtf is Harry doing get your hands off your best mate's girl!" and the women go "ohhhh so sweet, he's just trying to comfort her" :D I really had to laugh because it's the same everywhere including myself :D

She was the one, who sent the letter after Harry used the Patronus Spell in front of Dudley to get rid of the Dementors. In the Books Dobbys Levitation spell for the cake also made her sent him a letter, cause she thought, that Harry used a spell.

I don't think the Malfoy's are evil. Just scared to death and feeling they are in way over their heads. Not to say they aren't spoiled, rude and arrogant, as they are. But I think Lucius made the mistake of pledging himself to Voldemort early on and has regretted it every day since. Just my opinion.
Nah, Lucius is a piece of human garbage, he was all in on being the villain until he fell from grace, he's just a worm and an opportunist. Narcissa and Draco are arrogant, entitled, shitty people, but they're never outright evil by choice, they're forced into this crap by Lucius. Draco is a shitty bully and an edgelord, due to his upbringing, but only does evil things when he's under threat of being killed.
So the progression of the elder wand: Gregoravich (the primary mainland Europe wandmaker) had it, Grindelwald stole it, then Dumbledore defeated Gridelwald and Dumbledore got it. For more on Grindelwald, watch the Fantastic Beasts movies.
Harry is a descendent of the 3 Brothers. Voldemort is a descendent of Salazar Slytherin. I think that's one of the coolest facts. I suggest you buy "the tales of beedle the bard" and read them. Good stories for kids.

Dobby's death was one of the hardest to deal with but losses are necessary to make the consequences feel real. Without the loss the threat would never seem real.

More than Dobby's death, is Hedwig's death what kill me... Harry's owl put herself between Harry and the Avada Kedavra that Voldemort sent to Potter... He was forced to take the Dark Lord's mark, and now, he got Voldemort and Death Eaters living in Malfoy Manor.. something that books shows you that movies don't, is that he is a prisoner in some way... Snape is an incredibly complex character.. he is my favorite obe, and I'm a proud Slytherin, but damn, Snape deserves a movie by himself... Is bittersweet to know that we are just one movie to the end... I beg that you watch after Potter, a kind of precuel of the saga, "Fantastic Beast and where to find them"... In the book when they’re visiting Mr. Lovegood the trio actually make sure that the death eaters see them before they dissapparate, because they don’t want him to get killed. I think it’s a very important detail missed in the movie
All the movies before this one Dumbledore was the owner of the elder wand like in the movie he died in and the movie he fought Voldemort in u can see that he was using it but he wasn’t the kid who stole it and jumped out the window it was grindwald he was the evil wizard before Voldemort and was the person he saw in the prison when he told him Dumbledore had the wand
Guys, when a green beam shoots out of the wand and connects with a soul container, they are dead. One shot kill. Avada Kedavra. Only Harry has survived it cuz he a G.
The problem is that the movies fail to consistently portray what spells do. In the movies almost every spell seems to just throw people around. In Goblet of Fire Avada Kedavra is an instant kill, you just plop dead, like in the novels, the groundskeeper, the spider, and Cedric react the same, instant death. In Order of the Phoenix movie Sirius is conscious and moving after getting hit, confusing the audience. In Half Blood Prince movie it's unclear whether Dumbledore died from the spell or the fall. In this movie, Hedwig makes a noise AFTER being hit by the spell, when realistically she should be unable to. The movies generally suck at portraying what magic does, and miss a lot of necessary exposition. They also suck at portraying action scenes which are much better in the novels. What the movies do well is deliver the emotional element of the story, and the general gist of the characters, but they completely fail to convey the narrative from the novels. EDIT: Also in the 1st movie we see Lily scream as she's being killed when what the spell canconically does is kill you instantly, no pain, no reaction, you just plop dead like a doll.
(SPOILERS) Harry’s mom* was a g lol . And In the book the whole Harry is a horcrux deal works differently too, Voldemort is also Harry’s horcrux too because of the sacrificial magic and the rebounded curse he tried to hit Lily with, they both were technically murdered by Voldemort (the requisite to use the horcrux curse) because of the rebound which is why he didn’t die when voldy AK’s him and instead the horcrux curse on him is undone / that piece of voldy’s soul is killed. Likewise when voldy dies the piece of Harry’s soul that was latched onto him is taken off his being as well. It’s a deep cut of lore that’s only hinted at but super cold.
Dobby and Dumbledore and Sirius all had to die-in order for Harry to truly stand on his own without any mature witch/wizard who would unconditionally stand behind & support him. He had friends, but they all had divided interests; those three would have sacrificed everything for Harry, Harry knew it and he **had** to know he stood alone-it was all up the him. He could accept help, sure, but in the clinch no one could swoop in and save his butt. Incidentally, that scene at the wedding? Betcha Hermione knew every name mentioned from Godric’s Hollow. I’m certain of a few as they were mentioned in earlier movies/books as authors of books she had read…

I don't think the Malfoy's are evil. Just scared to death and feeling they are in way over their heads. Not to say they aren't spoiled, rude and arrogant, as they are. But I think Lucius made the mistake of pledging himself to Voldemort early on and has regretted it every day since. Just my opinion.
Nah, Lucius is a piece of human garbage, he was all in on being the villain until he fell from grace, he's just a worm and an opportunist. Narcissa and Draco are arrogant, entitled, shitty people, but they're never outright evil by choice, they're forced into this crap by Lucius. Draco is a shitty bully and an edgelord, due to his upbringing, but only does evil things when he's under threat of being killed.
So the progression of the elder wand: Gregoravich (the primary mainland Europe wandmaker) had it, Grindelwald stole it, then Dumbledore defeated Gridelwald and Dumbledore got it. For more on Grindelwald, watch the Fantastic Beasts movies.

More than Dobby's death, is Hedwig's death what kill me... Harry's owl put herself between Harry and the Avada Kedavra that Voldemort sent to Potter... She took the shot for him.. 💔
Draco, well.. he was a pamper child and heard all his life that mudbloods don't worth at all, but now he is watching how is the world that Voldemort want, and watching how insane his aunt Bellatrix is... He was forced to take the Dark Lord's mark, and now, he got Voldemort and Death Eaters living in Malfoy Manor.. something that books shows you that movies don't, is that he is a prisoner in some way...
Snape is an incredibly complex character.. he is my favorite obe, and I'm a proud Slytherin, but damn, Snape deserves a movie by himself... Is bittersweet to know that we are just one movie to the end... I beg that you watch after Potter, a kind of precuel of the saga, "Fantastic Beast and where to find them"...

In the book when they’re visiting Mr. Lovegood the trio actually make sure that the death eaters see them before they dissapparate, because they don’t want him to get killed. I think it’s a very important detail missed in the movie

All the movies before this one Dumbledore was the owner of the elder wand like in the movie he died in and the movie he fought Voldemort in u can see that he was using it but he wasn’t the kid who stole it and jumped out the window it was grindwald he was the evil wizard before Voldemort and was the person he saw in the prison when he told him Dumbledore had the wand

The problem is that the movies fail to consistently portray what spells do. In the movies almost every spell seems to just throw people around. In Goblet of Fire Avada Kedavra is an instant kill, you just plop dead, like in the novels, the groundskeeper, the spider, and Cedric react the same, instant death. In Order of the Phoenix movie Sirius is conscious and moving after getting hit, confusing the audience. In Half Blood Prince movie it's unclear whether Dumbledore died from the spell or the fall. In this movie, Hedwig makes a noise AFTER being hit by the spell, when realistically she should be unable to.
The movies generally suck at portraying what magic does, and miss a lot of necessary exposition. They also suck at portraying action scenes which are much better in the novels. What the movies do well is deliver the emotional element of the story, and the general gist of the characters, but they completely fail to convey the narrative from the novels.
EDIT: Also in the 1st movie we see Lily scream as she's being killed when what the spell canconically does is kill you instantly, no pain, no reaction, you just plop dead like a doll.
(SPOILERS) Harry’s mom* was a g lol . And In the book the whole Harry is a horcrux deal works differently too, Voldemort is also Harry’s horcrux too because of the sacrificial magic and the rebounded curse he tried to hit Lily with, they both were technically murdered by Voldemort (the requisite to use the horcrux curse) because of the rebound which is why he didn’t die when voldy AK’s him and instead the horcrux curse on him is undone / that piece of voldy’s soul is killed. Likewise when voldy dies the piece of Harry’s soul that was latched onto him is taken off his being as well. It’s a deep cut of lore that’s only hinted at but super cold.

Dobby and Dumbledore and Sirius all had to die-in order for Harry to truly stand on his own without any mature witch/wizard who would unconditionally stand behind & support him. He had friends, but they all had divided interests; those three would have sacrificed everything for Harry, Harry knew it and he **had** to know he stood alone-it was all up the him. He could accept help, sure, but in the clinch no one could swoop in and save his butt.
Incidentally, that scene at the wedding? Betcha Hermione knew every name mentioned from Godric’s Hollow. I’m certain of a few as they were mentioned in earlier movies/books as authors of books she had read…
