Lets face it Sid dealing with Employees can be the biggest headache you have, Machines are fixable but some employees are not. My best advice is not to put up with employees that wont turn up for work as you had last year, those types go against your business plan, they undermine you and ruin it all, they make you look bad in your customers eyes too as them not working or caring changes your schedule. Maybe you can put up with them for a while, but they upset the rest of the crew, Good Hard Working Employees then feel bad as they have to pull up the slack, it all gets old, this then leads to good employees having little respect for you, Be fair with all employees but don't let them walk all over you, its all give n take in life but some wont play the game. Fun when you can laugh on a job with your crew. A nice yard and the owners seem to have a drive to put in time on the "catch up" work. 6:26, a lovely Grime Line on the roof as the moss comes off. What a beautiful end result. On the second job. Thanks for bringing up the interesting problem of rusting rocks in resin paving. Colin seemed to be getting a good grasp on moving around quickly to help you as you put the biocide down on the resin driveway. Third job, like your trial on biocide over sand on drives. Fourth job, that was a good description of what the biocide would do on render and then to show the actual process was very confirming. Thanks for thinking of a good training pattern. We love the interesting jobs you come up with but you do wonderful, basic work and they are good videos as well. Areas are being restored and are an uplift for all.

great video. always expecting a new video. finding people who want to work is hard these days. i see it and hear it everywhere, doesn't matter what jobs it is, restaurant, auto repair, construction, even critical jobs like hospital. so understand what you are going thru.

The playgrounds are fun and the big toys do add flair and fun to the videos. Hope you find that sub to pressure wash. maybe reach out to naval museums? they might have some work on interesting items?
I wish you were closer, I'd bite your hand off for that other position you're looking to fill. Would it not be more cost effective to add tow bars to the vans for the cherry picker instead of getting another truck. At least then all the vans are universal, even if it was just a van for yourself to go quoting, you've then got the availability of adding machinery into the back as well if you need to go do a job yourself after quoting. Love your videos and they have helped me improve the pressure washing side of my business.
Sid---business idea...you need maintenance clients. There's a product over here designed specifically to stop the growth of moss, etc on roof's. After you clean one, sell them the maintenance package and go back once every 6 months for say 100 pounds....will take you and hour or so per treatment...If you had 50% of you clients purchase it, that's an extra 200 pounds a year from half your customers

Not a lot of people are cut out for the type of physical job Sid does, and I cant blame them for trying it out and deciding its not for them. Heres hoping these new lads are good ones! This kind of work is very rough but also very rewarding Sid seems a lot like a boss I had once, best boss I've ever had. He was a leader, stepped in when we needed help and was very dependable. Hed invite me over to his poker games and Superbowl parties and we'd game a bit on the ps4. I even followed him to a new location when he got a promotion to help out one if the owners other businesses that wasn't doing so well. He was a good dude, you could sit and chat over a drink or two and he had a lot of good stories despite being fairly young

Nice to see you have a good Reliable person. I use casual workers is I'm not busy enough to take someone on but I'm let down all the time. It's so annoying as I book the work around when people can help out and then let down. It's not just me they let down it's the costumer and the next costumer. I Need a coiln.
In Canada, we are seeing the same issues with staffing. The government has imported a lot of people, but they are not accustomed to the work process in Canada, and this has also made people legitimately looking for work unable to find work.

Sid, Hi from St Petersburg FL USA! I've been subscribed since you started and still love watching you! Your work ethic is over the top! I feel your pain with staffing issues. I'm a Director of Operations for a family owned A/V company here in the states. We've been through at least 4 different guys over the last 3 years finding someone who can "cut" it in our warehouse. What we do is hard work and crazy hours with lots of pop up business. It really is hard finding people who care enough to give 100%. And being in the customer service business, I totally understand how hard it must be for you to turn down business or be forced to go back in hindsight to correct something or have to issue refunds. WORST thing ever! Your reputation is everything. I often watch you and wish I was young enough and lived closer. I would love to work for someone as dedicated as you. BTW, I'm a 63 year young woman and still work full time in all aspects of our business. From quoting, billing purchasing to inventory control to teching shows. So please don't give up and keep up the good work! You are AWESOME!!! Welcome to the new guys and Good Luck! I'm rooting for you all!

I wish we lived nearby. My husband was a roofer for years, and he just can't do it anymore, and finding good help is impossible! He could do this. There isn't much of that kind of work around here.

Brand new owner for that house? Then I can almost guarantee he'll drive right past it at least once, just because he doesn't recognize it from how it looked before. As many videos of yours as I've watched, you'd think I'd stop being shocked at the radical difference you make in the roofs. I keep going into these, expecting a black roof at the end, clear of lichens, moss and grime, but I keep seeing soft, light brown or grey tiles, and rich red terra cotta roofs unearthed from the grime and having a 'WTF?!' moment, every bleeping time~
